Hi,
Actually there is no newer content in the Instagram account to tell if it’s working and synchronizing on the dev website. Maybe it works or maybe it doesn’t. If the account is connected in the theme panel it should work.
After our developer team had to make modifications in the theme in order for Instagram to continue to work, the solution that was found is the current one, a business account must be connected in the theme panel. The theme will then have authorization to access the account and get the content. The images from the account are kept in the media library on the website, so they are displayed from there, not having to keep making multiple requests to Instagram. On the dev website those images will remain displayed there indefinitely if there’s no newer content, even if the whole system doesn’t work.
But in older theme versions this system was not yet implemented I believe, like the version you are using on the main website. That tries to function using the older system, and that will most likely not work anymore. There were also other fixed and updates in the matter in more recent theme updates -> https://i.imgur.com/SkYmw33.png
The only solution to display Instagram content in the live website using the theme Instagram widget, is to update the theme. Or if that is not possible for various reasons, you could try some Instagram feed plugins. They also mostly work with connecting accounts and will work fine probably.
Let me know.
Thank you!
Hi Simion and thanks for your reply.
But in older theme versions this system was not yet implemented I believe, like the version you are using on the main website.
Actually, as I mentioned, the two sites are running the same older theme version…that’s why I was wondering how come they are behaving so differently, even in the HTML code loading the pics.
Also, I’m totally sure that nobody changed anything in the settings nor disconnected the account from the LIVE env site (before the issue happened). Anyways I did again the connection with the Instagram profile, but this didn’t make it work.
Furthermore, reading other users comments it seems that updating the theme would not solve the problem.
So basically, known that they’re running the same theme versions, why the LIVE site is loading pics from remote (forbidden) URL and the DEV one is loading them from local directory, and apparently working ok?
(I wrote “apparently” because maybe we should try to post a new pic on the Instagram profile, to check if the DEV website will load it correctly).
Hi,
My mistake, somehow I haven’t seen that both websites are running 10.4. Sorry about that. I thought I checked the website and saw the latest theme version being used, but it actually isn’t.
The new system may have been added exactly in 10.4, I can’t recall exactly unfortunately. But I think there were some problems with it, and it was modified again in version 11. But it may work in that older version.
Could you provide access to the main website via email? Our email address is contact@tagdiv.com If possible please send us an email with admin login for the website, and I will take a closer look. Let me know.
Thank you!
