My site speed: Should I get a CDN?

I’ve been running speed tests on pages of my website and am getting results that are all over the place. Do most people using Newspaper theme also have a CDN like Cloudflare? I can’t tell if I should be happy with the results I’m getting on speed tests, or if I really should add a CDN. I’m getting lots of A’s on the tests, but also some F’s… Also, I’m careful to optimize my photos for the Web using Photoshop and Optim, but I always get messages that they could be optimized more. Don’t know how… Someone told me today I should add a plugin for Gzip compression.

Here are some pages if anyone feels like running a test on them and giving me some much-appreciated advice!

Actually I just ran a GZip compression test and it says my site already has it. So ignore that part about GZIP in my question.

Thanks, Bogdan. Have you heard of any major problems combining Cloudflare with Newspaper? I keep reading about combining it with the W3 Total Cache plugin. But I want to stick with the Super Cache plugin since that’s what Tagdiv recommends. Or do people let Cloudflare do the caching and then delete the W3 Total Cache plugin?

Hello,
We do not recommend w3 total cache as it is not a tested and recommended plugin to use with our theme.
Pleas only use wp super cache and theses settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
And for cloudflare: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/

Thank you!

Hi travisnw,
I’ve checked W3 Total Cache together with CloudFlrare on my WP Site. It’s great speed booster! But I found some issues this with Newspaper theme.
1. Newspaper Mobile Plugin behave improperly.
2. Frame Buster plugins or code is also not functioning properly.
You can use WP Super Cache as suggested by Bogdan B. Also use jetpack. This way I can regain my speed on desktop devices. Still on mobile the speed is not up to the mark.
Thanks & Br,
Prashanth
