As i told you we have a block that we use on a desktop and another one for mobile (due to design issues)
The first printscreen is with the desktop:

I marked with red the block that we are talking about.
On the mobile version (bellow link)

we have a different block that should show same posts but as you can see it’s not doing that.
In the mobile block we have the latest posts from 1-4 and in the desktop we have latest posts from 5-8 because we’ve hidden the block from the desktop to mobile and viceversa. The unique post function cuts 4 posts from the page.
is there a solution for this?

Not good either.
Can i remove the navigation arrows from the image gallery? Because that’s the problem.
What i’m thinking is that if i remove the navigation arrows (top right corner) for the image gallery i will navigate the image by clicking on the thumbnails above the main image, because when i navigate the image gallery this way the list won’t jump to the next item like it does now.

So how can i remove the arrows?

Well that’s not good. because i kind of need the smart list to have photo gallery.
what else can we do?

I know the method with the category but i wanted to know if there is another option.
i read a topic with something like that for newspaper theme.
will you consider introducing this option in next releases? It is a very important feature.

thank you for your answer but it’s not i want.
i would like to remove the current gradient that’s on top of the pictures.
Instead i would like to put a transparent color (of my choosing) on top of each picture.
something like i did for the big grid 7 below:

In my screenshot you will see some white lines, and only between the pictures, NOT on the external margins.

When i put the css you gave 3 things happen:
1) the space is on each side of the pictures
2) because the space it’s on each side you will have double space between pictures. 1px + 1px
3) The spacing doesn’t apply to the black transparent layer on top of the picture. So it results a space between pictures that is grey not white.

Another questions:
How do i change the color of that black transparency. let’s say i want it to be like the dark blue from my website.

OK new problem:
I changed the style for the Big grid.
And what i want now is the same: space between pictures, and change the font, or more specific bold it because now it’s a little bit thin. I saw that when i changed the style the font changed also so i belive that it’s linked with some module. And if it’s linked i want to change the font only in big grid, not in the module.

The solution you gave me above with the space it’s not working now.

Thank you for your answers Andrei but you didn’t understand my firs question.
In the footer i have those widgets but i have a problem with the title color from the articles showing in the widget.
if you look closer you will see that i have the pictures and the date, but not article title. That’s because the article title’s color is the same as the background and only when you put your mouse over it turns to red.

ignore the second point in my previous post. I was putting the comment symbol before “<?php” and that’s why it didn’t worked

Thank you for your answers but:
1. You didn’t understand me with the black stripe.
I want a black transparent stripe from the left margin of the picture to the right margin of the picture, and the height of the stripe should start from the bottom margin of the picture and it should end just above the title.
As i told you, i would like to look like in your other theme called NEWS.

2. I found the big grid php file but when i use “//” to comment the lines get_author and get_date nothing happens. Just that in front end the line containing the author and date moves about 5px to the right.
On the other hand if i delete these 2 fields it works.

i don’t want to create a gradient anymore. I would like to have a transparent black stripe instead in the elements from the big grid and everywhere else where i have the same effects.
Also how can i remove the authore name from the modules that have the title over the picture, like the big grid module. I just want to have the title there.
