One version (the onw with “category base”) doesnt even exist. I don’t have a page like that to add or remove the canonical tag!

Hi Chris. I already use that plugin. Yoast SEO has that option to remove from the “category base”.

But what i should do now becuae I have some pages who have duplicate description and content. Becuse are indexed two version, the one with “Category” and the other one without “category”?

I need you for one last thing.

I finally done, the redirect is finally working.

In wp-config.php, I didn’t put my preferred version, Do i need to put it know that my redirect works? or isnt neccesary?

Hi Chris. Thnx for your reply. I just fix it by deleting some posts in my homepage.

This was the issue about “cloaking” if you remember. Because my homepage had a large size of html and google couldn’t crawl it.

This is fixed. I have a question, about after setting a preferred domain.

I finally fix it by putting a 301 redirect code in .htacces. SO my question is this:

Does I need to put rel=canonical in my html also, or is enough only by redirected code I already put it, in order google to know that mo domains are the same?

1) I just selected my preferred domain to be the version with www
2) then, put a 301 redirect code in .htaccess to be redirected in this version (with www)

Now I’m reading this stuff about rel=”canonical”, which I understand why I have to use them but I don’t understand why I have to use them in each post? I have like 200 articles indexed, now I have to put rel=”canonical” in each of them? And for each post I will do I have to put rel=”canonical” also? Why I have to use rel=”canonical” when I already choose a preferred domain and put 301 redirect. All tutorials in the internet tells only these things which I already did, and tells nothing about rel=”canonical”?

Please, take your time and tell be this:

1) Does I need to put rel=”canonical” in each post?
2) How can I put rel=”canonical” in the domain link, not in posts?

I think I dont have to use rel=”canonical” because all my posts are only in once category and I have removed the “category” name in a post. Is that right?

Hello again. I did nothing last days. I have only changed some of my category/pages descriptions and names, and the main description of the home page, also the h1 names on the homepage.

Maybe that’s why is happened, because since last my changes google crawl hasn’t come to visit my site?

That means that I have to delete newspaper theme, and child theme before the update. And after update I need to create a new child theme, and then to keep activated the child theme not newspaper theme?

It means that everytime I make a post, or install a plugin I need to make a full backup.

So I’m removing the page and leave only the category.

I don’t have it the slug category
(/category/example.com) on my articles. This is a bad thing?
So for example, if you click in a article it will be without the category slug.
I think It would be a better thing if i remove the page and leave as a category because from the category all the articles have more power to rank, as from the page. Because from the page the articles are loaded from blocks modules and I think them hasn’t power as a category might have. Just my opinion.
