Thank you!
Hi Anemaria,
It is:
Great! I think it worked, thanks! There’s one other problem however. The hamburger menu doesn’t seem to be clickable on mobile phone. It does work when i test it on desktop in mobile emulated view but it doesn’t work on an actual smartphone. Can you help me out with this one?
Hi Anamaria,
I would like to have it the way it looks in my Cloud template settings:

Hi Anamaria,
Thanks for your response, i’m sorry but you misunderstood me. The layout you are showing in your picture is the layout i don’t want! But i cant find this layout in my Cloud templates or in my theme panel settings.. so i don’t know where it comes from or how to disable it. Can you help me?
In addition i would also like to mention that i did clean up any cache and i also tested multiple browsers also in private browser mode.
A week ago i tested the plugin ‘TagDiv mobile theme’ but this plugin doesn’t really do what i expected it to do so i deactivated it again.
In Google Chrome it give me a “Result Code Hung” error.
Hi Calin!
Thanks for your reply. I’ve installed WP Fastest Cache.
People are still complaining to me that the website(homepage only?) freezes after ±30 seconds. I noticed tough it doesn’t seem to happen on my iphone.

Could you please double check? I’m using Chrome
Goodmorning Anamaria,
Unfortunately i still have this problem.
The website freezes around 30 sec. and i have no clue what could be causing this. I also don’t have any caching or autoptimze plugins installed.
Could you please have a look? Thanks!
Hi! Yes it works, thank you!!!!
So i guess autoptimize isn’t a good plugin together with the Newspaper theme? Would you recommend a similar plugin that is more compatible?
Hi! thanks for your response.
I’ve looked trough my CSS modifications but the pointer-events: none; isn’t anywhere. It’s also not in my header.php (child theme) and other CSS files in my child theme folder. I guess it’s from another plugin? Also i noticed that when i’m logged in at WP-admin the menu works just fine but if i visit the website without being logged in the menu stops working and the list-items have an additional class called “inactive”.
I can try to override the pointer-events: none; with my custom CSS what attribute does ‘pointer-events’ need to have in order for it to work? I think we also need to solve the ‘inactive’ class being added to the list-items.
Hi thanks for looking into that! It seems to be fixed, thank you!
However there’s another problem now with the menu:
It says (index):551 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined in the console
/* global jQuery:{} */
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
var tdbMenuItem = new tdbMenu.item();
tdbMenuItem.blockUid = 'tdi_1';
tdbMenuItem.jqueryObj = jQuery('.tdi_1');
tdbMenuItem.isMegaMenuFull = true;
tdbMenuItem.megaMenuLoadType = '';
tdbMenu.addItem(tdbMenuItem);
});
This happens when i try to click an item in the menu which isn’t clickable anymore
Hi!
Did you find anything yet that could cause this problem?
Hey Bettina,
It’s been two months and we still have the same weird error. After aprox. 30 seconds the homepage freezes (result code hung). I’ve tried all sorts of things:
– Disabling all plugins
– Checking for buggy javascript
– Checking the console
– Moving to a different server
I did found at tough that after disabling the TagDiv composer plugin the homepage doesn’t seem to freeze anymore. Could you please have another look on what can be done about this problem?
Thank you!

Hi Bettina,
Thanks for your reply. I already tried disabling all the plugins except the ones from TagDiv. Unfortunately the problem remains.

Sorry,
The website i’m refering to is https://www.defensiebond.nl/
If you want i can also give you access to the admin dashboard.
But is it then possible to assign a template to an individual page? Because i can’t seem to do that either. I can only assign a mobile template.
Hi Bettina,
I followed the steps you described and now i have a different error. I guess it’s not related buy i’m not sure:
click here to see what i’m talking about
I first thought this was because TagDiv composer plugin wasn’t active but it doesn’t change when i activate it
Goodmorning Bettina,
I used the default WordPress importer plugin to migrate the posts.
And i also made sure attachments would also be exported and imported
Ok… Can you please write something of a checklist about exporting and importing so i can retrace my steps to see what i’ve did wrong? So i know for in the future.
Hi Bettina,
Thanks for your reply!
This is of course a good solution however i need to do this for like a hundred posts. Isn’t there another way?
And i don’t understand why this featured image doesn’t appear. I’ve exported all my posts from a different website (also using Newspaper theme). and imported them in the new website. So the images should be there right?
Thanks!
Hey Bettina, goodmorning!
I’ve tried disabling lazy load (it was already disabled) so i enabled and disabled it again while saving the settings and deleting the cache. Unfortunately no result. Is there something else we can try?
