Yes, we insert Adsense blocks using the element, but Teads is implemented via a JavaScript tag through the Header script code in the theme settings, which allows the advertising block to be implemented between paragraphs of each post. It’s very likely that the theme’s CSS is somehow interfering with the Teads block’s CSS, causing layout disruption in the parallax effect of campaigns.

If you have any ideas on how to work around this, it would be very helpful.

We are partners with the Teads ad network. Their ad units display parallax formats, and from the feedback I received from support, they’ve already identified the same issue with other partners using WordPress with Newspaper. However, I once tried to display Adsense/Adx banners in Parallax using the Newspaper theme, and the layout appears broken within the iframe, just like Teads. I think if there’s a solution, it should benefit both cases. I’m counting on your support. Thank you.

I’m facing the same problem. I understand that you recommend that a Posts Page not be selected in Reading Settings, but this makes a difference because it influences SEO. Yoast prioritizes this page configured there in the WordPress sitemap list. Therefore, I would like your guidance so that it is possible to at least minimally customize the page configured as a “post page” where the posts are displayed in a flex block with only the title and the featured image and not the full article as is currently the case.

Note: I tried to follow your recommendation to “you can design it first and only after setting it there”, but it didn’t work as expected. I created a new page, customized it using TD Composer, and only then selected it as a Posts Page, but it didn’t work. Could you give me a step-by-step guide on how this would work?

This is a possibility, but it will distort the post, especially for a news portal that in this case will no longer have the main illustration of the article. I think that the Newspapper technical team could provide an alternative, if they cannot adjust it so that the featured image is removed only when the video URL is filled in, then they could develop a separate block just for featured images, disassociating it from the featured video function, which I believe is a very specific functionality and should not interfere with its main purpose, which is to display the featured image of the post.

Perfect Anamaria, it worked well. But I’m having problems with the Only Single featured image block. We use the “video format” option in some posts so that the reader can see in the home highlights that the post contains a video between the paragraphs of the article and, in these cases, the block does not display any image, waiting for a video link that in this case was not previously configured by us. Is there any way to disable this function so that the block displays the featured image without a previously configured video link, even if the article is using the “video format” option? I tried using the Single Post Bg Featured Image instead, it works very well, but unfortunately it does not provide the title and alt description of the image, which loses the meaning of implementing a Featured Image for us, since the SEO effect for this is what motivates us to do such an implementation. Sorry, Bettina, but you’re a little mistaken, unless Newspaper is a theme that isn’t designed for medium-sized websites and large portals.

This function should not be sold by you as a customization, but rather exist by default as security for those who have a team of writers and editors, and protect us about the theme’s settings.

Thank you for the instruction. I’ve already done this test and even following these steps in the Newspaper settings, the primary category is not respected, just like with Yoast. In the Flex Block, when using pagination, after the first page, when loading more highlights using the load more button or when loading the infinite load, the permalink of the posts does not follow the primary category configured when publishing the article, regardless of whether it was selected by the Yoast or the Newspaper.

I suggest that you try to reproduce the problem in your environment to identify that it is really a technical issue.

The url of the posts on the pages and the home of the categories are not respecting the primary category chosen through Yoast.

This needs to be corrected.

Yes, when I used the standard post style I did it like this through the child theme. When we migrated to the cloud template, we tried to call the excerpt by creating shortcode in functions.php, linking this shortcode to a raw box element or text box element by the tagDiv Composer in the single template. But that didn’t work for us. If you have any tips to make this work through some adjustment, it would be a welcome solution and will help us a lot. In any case, I ask that Newspeper be able to add an excerpt element in the future. It will be a gift for us!

I have been a Newspeper user for many years and I also have the same problem and have been waiting for a solution for some time. We have hundreds of thousands of posts already published, all with the excerpt field filled in long before migrating to the TagDiv theme, but unfortunately your theme does not support this functionality.

I think this is a weak point of the Newspaper, after all the Excerpt field is a standard WordPress feature that should be taken into account as it is important.

I sincerely ask that a way to resolve this be evaluated as the subtitle field created by you is a feature that ends up not making sense, both for existing installations, with their exerpt contents already filled in and which end up being lost with the migration to Newspaper, as for new installations that adopt to your theme, as in any case it makes users have to do double work filling in two fields with the same purpose.

I just updated to the latest version 12.6.

However, the problem is old, whenever there are updates I check to see if there has been a correction. It would be really nice to be able to use the function in the menus inside sticky header too.

I’m having a problem similar to the one reported here by this user.

The share link for some posts points to the url of some tag on the site, but not to the post itself. This occurs on all share buttons, on all social networks.

By my testing, this only occurs with posts that have been updated. When originally published, the problem does not happen.

It is worth mentioning that I use Yoast in my installation, but this does not interfere because I did a compatibility test with all other plugins disabled and the problem only appears with Newspaper activated with only the TagDiv Cloud Library plugin activated. When the Newspaper is activated only with the TagDiv Composer the problem ceases to exist.

You helped me a lot in the time of Shim and helped to solve very well the overload of my server at the time, but today my site has greatly increased the volume of simultaneous accesses and I have had the same problem that the users here of this post has been facing. I know the problem is regarding the use of TDC with the post view ajax function of the theme. But I could use the post view without the ajax function because I do not use cache plugin. It turns out that the view count does not work without ajax enabled, even though I never use cache plugin. I already tried to get this doubt with the developers of the Newspaper here in the forum, but the answer was empty. Would you have a hint of how to make cont views work without ajax since I do not use cache plugin? I know this would solve my overload problem at high peaking hits.

I’ve been facing the same problem. As noted by Amit, the load relieves when the Ajax View Count is disabled, however in our case we used Varnish cache, we ran out of click counts for the posts.

Is there any adjustment for this?

Yes, your printscreen shows rendered, but this only happens after almost 1 minute waiting for Whatsapp to embed the thumbnail and title of the links on our site. The user would not wait that long.

Most of the other sites that I tested, this happens automatically, without delay. Two other sites I know that makes use of Newspeper also happens the same as ours, so I suspected.

It may not have anything to do with the subject, anyway I decided to report here for you and ask for help to know where the source of the problem is from.

I was looking here in the forum on this subject since I have had problems of ouverload of CPU with the Search Live.

I tried to apply the suggested configuration in tg_ajax.php, exactly as explained, but after that it break the Next Prev ajax on the Blocks pagnation and the ajax views counter for cached pages, as reported by our colleague ieanea above.

Is there a setting that disables ajax only for Live Search?
