‘Speed Booster Options’ has slowed my website down, adding an extra 2-3seconds loading time.

What options would be ticked? At the moment it’s ‘Compression level: 90’ and all the boxes are selected.

Is this correct?

I use the plugin ‘Envato WordPress Toolkit’, updates the theme in less than 30 seconds and keeps my changes (if the updates doesn’t override specific files that i’ve changed) 🙂

I have got one small issue. How can I redirect users to a different page when they click the ‘Login’ button (top right) instead of a popup input box?

I’ve got it working finally (took about 14+ hours). Needed to delete some of this themes BBPress files and edit the original files to show the UserPro login and badges. Then needed to change some output code around to make it look more professional and smart.

Also, is it possible you could email me a URL of one of your sites in Google News so i can take a physical look at a website that you’ve successfully got into Google News with?

I tired adding ‘.html’ extension on my posts but then old URLs didn’t work, so it wasn’t any good as i have over 900 posts on my blog.

I will try posting news before other sites get to it first, and then apply 😉 See if that works, haven’t had anyone who has the amount of experience you do informing me, so thanks for letting me know.

Hello Christopher (@neotrope), thanks for giving me some tips with Google News and telling your story.

I haven’t heard about the ‘clean-up’ so maybe that’s why? It seems less people are in-fact getting approved by Google News now, which is a shame in many ways.

The only reason i’d like to be a part of it, is that, the people i’m competing (the same category) are showing up in the top of Google’s Search page in the ‘News’ section due to keywords that users type in, and i have better quality work showing up down page 1 (because of SEO). So people are going to click the ‘News’ sections more times than my article.

I also changed my URL structure before applying as i saw many people who have been accepted have the same URL structure. Mine is:
Website URL: http://[website].com/%5BID code]-name-of-the-article/

Wordpress (back-end) URL: http://[website].com/%post_id%-%postname%/

Yeah i’ve heard this. People say 3 posts (a-day) minimum helps increase your chances for Google News approval.

I have also got the XML sitemap plugin for Google news and submitted it with my application through the ‘Google Webmaster Tools’, but still got rejected. Makes me think it’s something to do with the URL structure? (something their system can’t pickup or crawl).

Does that work for ‘Popular Posts’ as well? Because i don’t want the views to appear by the posts, but i want the box (on the homepage) to display what the popular posts are on the site, if you get me?

I used the plugin: ‘Quick Featured Images’ version ‘4.0’. It let me choose the posts i wanted to add pics too etc 🙂

I’ve had to add JavaScript in the bottom for it to work successfully.

*I’ve installed Disqus onto the theme and it works great except the comment count. (Sorry auto correct on the phone).

Is there anyway to change the code in the Theme Settings, or would i need to do it via FTP? If so, what file would i be looking for to change? (.php? line no.?)

Thank you for the tutorial, and i fixed the problem with the Visual composer. My web hosting company was using an old version of WordPress. Updated it and it works again 🙂
