Hi, I created an example page to show you how the bg color of the sidebar disappears while scrolling: https://www.brettspiele-magazin.de/kooperative-spiele/

1. I deactivated all tagdiv plugins via phpmyadmin. Just search within the wp_options table for your activated plugins and remove them.
2. Login to your server and remove the installed plugins. I just renamed the folders so that I can undo this easily.
3. Now a login to the backend system should work again. I went to the newspaper theme panel and activated the theme, then my child theme.
4. Install the plugins via theme panel again and start activating them. Thats basically it.

So step 3+4 is basically following the guidelines in the themes documentation. I still have no idea why the system broke in the first place – I am just happy that the page is back.

Solved it by myself. No answer required anymore.

Update: I deactivated all my plugins via phpmyadmin – I can access my backend again. But as soon as I activate td composer or td standard pack the site breaks.

I am also interested in this feature.

Hi, thanks for the tips so far. Seem to work for me. In the Google Search Console all URLs of my domain are now displayed as good (= green), before they were mostly red, some of them yellow. So I am back to normal – more or less.

Hi,

the LCP are part of the core web vitals which are not a ranking factor yet. Google wrote in May2020 “Today, we’re building on this work and providing an early look at an upcoming Search ranking change that incorporates these page experience metrics. The ranking changes described in this post will not happen before next year, and we will provide at least six months notice before they’re rolled out.” See: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2020/05/evaluating-page-experience.html

Besides a drop of 80% can hardly be caused by one single ux factor. Maybe share your domain so somebody can have a look at the issue.

Hi,

I am also interested in a solution here. The core web vitals of my website in GSC looks pretty bad. I already changed some settings (tracking, fonts) to increase the overall pagespeed rating again – but still, the CLS is a pain right now.

Hi imkimc, please let us know what the difference between Newspaper and your alternative theme / plugin set is. I am also thinking about switching theme as I am very unhappy with the last 1-2 major releases here. I am still fighting with tagdiv composer (no, it’s not that intuitiv as you think!) and now the next update is already here.

Hi,

I could solve the issue on my own.
For everybody facing the same issue. You just need to add your IP to the Firewall Whitelist. Then it works like a charm.

I did. System panel is green. Only missing thing is WP Super Cache. The rest is fine following your guidelines.

Hi Vlad,

just send you the mail with the requested access.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Vlad,

unfortunately not. You just described how it should work. My issue is not related to missing content. The composer is just not working correctly in my environment.

e.g. when I change a Block Header Style of a blank new page from Style 8 to 9, simply nothing happens. I always have to save and refresh to see the change.

Hi,

sorry, but no. 🙁

As I wrote, I already activated the feature in the Theme Panel. But it is not applying. Just to test I just created a new post with classic editor and added an image. Again I need to go through all steps manually. So default was “Modul Image: Off” and “Link Target: none”.

The Lightbox is working fine after changing the configs manually for every single image, see: https://www.brettspiele-magazin.de/detective/

Hi Vlad,

I try to setup a new frontpage.

1) I add an element e.g. title and select a header template and choose some colors for text, border, hover.
2) I change the selection in the header template e.g. from Block Header 8 to Block Header 12.

Expected behavior would be that the changed Block Header is displayed right now.
Current behavior is, nothing happens until I save and refresh the page.

SAME FOR displayed number of posts in some Grids. When I change the amount from 5 to 10 nothing happens before saving and refreshing the page.

Hi Meranda, to me it looks like your website(s) automatically updated to wordpress 5.0 which includes the new Gutenberg Editor. That means the classic tiny post editor is gone and was replaced by wordpress Gutenberg. That is actually not related to the newspaper theme.

Following. Maybe related issue on my site:

I deactivated the function: HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES in the category theme panel. But the category is still showing (in black) in the hero on my posts (I used style 11 for testing).

Hi,

all issues seem to be solved now. No blank screens, no infinite Loading anymore and also no server errors. Thanks for your patience and support.

Thank you, Simion. I sent you the mail already.

Hi Simion,

alright I try to get rid of some plugins, thanks. But now I get a 500 error after activating the td cloud library.

System Status looks green all over, all plugins are deactivated, only TD Composer is active. When I now activate TD Cloud library the screen goes directly to 500 error message. I don’t get why it is so hard this time to get everything running.

I am lost, right now. I already spend a lot of time to this and just don’t want to go back to VC and my former setup.

You still have my login and ftp access. Is it possible that I send you a mail with must have plugins (all from your recommended list) and you try to get it running for me.

Norman

Hi,

first of all thanks so much for the support so far. I really appreciate it.
You got the TD Composer to run and I already could use it for the first time. It looks amazing and its a lot of fun to build pages with it. I would really love to start work with it on my site.

Unfortunately I needed to deactivate it again, because:

1 – To keep TD Composer running I needed to deactivate almost every plugin (e.g Buttons X, SEO Friendly Images, WP-DB-Manger, WP-Super Cache to name a few.)

2 – All Sidebars in my posts are broken after VC was deactivated.

Following your documentation for the switch from VC to TD Composers it should be possible to have both composer active (as long as we don’t use it at the same page) – is that still correct?

Following your last update documentation, TD Composer should be available for Posts now too – I couldn’t find it though. Should it be available for posts?

Norman

Worked now, thanks.

Solved it by deactivating either Contact Form 7 or WP GDPR Plugin. Both should be compatible with the theme.
