OK, I found my problem, it is nothing to do with the theme but
1) the real problem is the APC Object Cache plugin
2) it is better do a manual update rather than auto

If you use wordfence firewall this could be happening. It does to me. I disable the firewall and it works

You are right. The problem seems related with Wordfence newly upgrade.

Not sure why others seems don’t have such issue.

I did check the summary button in the main setting and it seems that all the category rss works but if I go to the main page and loading site rss post, I still got all the text showing up.

I remember reading something from you like, I have to manually put something in the excerpt so the rss will load only that. I tried and that method works.

I also read the wordpress text. It states that auto excerpts and manual excerpts are different. I am not sure there are some plugin that put something for manual excerpts.

This site start with newspaper version 4 and now to version 6, I am pretty impressive about the function and efficiency of the theme. With help from the support team and Chris-just by reading their menu, I also manage to make it GTMetrix 93% YSLOW about 76% loading time about 3s

All the advise are highly appreciated. Here is a quick report for changes.

1) It turns out you are right my gzip setting is not proper set/I ask my host again and they helped me fix it.
2) I turn off a couple of plugins(one firewall one social media)/restructure the home page a bit, move the weather and map to another page
3) I use WP super cache and turn on page preload (w3 cache seems not work well with me)

Anyway, my score now

Google M-57/100 and D-80/100 (about double what I have before)
Gmatrix page speed Grade A and Yslow 77%
Pingdom 78/100 load time 1.55

from yesterday to now, I experienced the load time from 8.9 to 1.55 again appreciated your help. Now load time is between 1.88 to 3.96 range. Which is really improved.

Now I know I am on a right track. I will follow your suggestion to test plug in one by one later. At least now the site is in a bearable speed.

Okay, not sure why the icon does not show on my phone but after disable all plug in, the site page speed increase to 71-83, that is really a bid jump,

I don’t like the w3 that slow me down any other cache that working with your theme? I test super cache seems working thinking about use hyper cache or quick cache, I am using site network function and hosting under VPS
