Oh, I’m sorry – my mistake.

I now understand that we have to use the version of VC that comes with the latest Newspaper version and not the one from the producers of VC.

Sorry for that but thank you for an amazing template !

Same problem here – I wanted to make a page, using one of the templates and no matter how or where I clock, nothing happens? It has been working just great earlier on?

Thank you – solved πŸ™‚

Thank you!

I just tried deactivating all plugins and reinstalling the theme – same result.

It’s been a problem for months on our site, so I wouldn’t say we’re just waiting a temporary fix πŸ™‚

Okay, so my colleague came in and we did a little test.

Mac Safari shows the videos.
Chrome + Firefox on Mac and PC doesn’t
Internet Explorer shows a warning that the video is not safe content.

If we post the youtube embed script, everything is fine. When we use your Featured Video way, it seems most browsers block the video.

I’m not sure if this is due to our site being httpS, thus making the browsers want more secure videoembedding but hopefully you can add further info in this asap.

Hi!

Thanks, but it seems we ARE using the latests versions and everything is set for auto/responsive πŸ™‚

In our case, we have several thousand posts with manually embedded video, so we can’t just change it.

Isn’t there a way for the template itself to act, so it doesn’t print the [youtube https:/wwww.youtu… etc] part ?

Would it be great to just say “Everything between [ ] should not be rendered/printed” ? πŸ™‚

Take my money ! πŸ™‚

Well, we’be been looking at it now and we’re confused.

We don’t need the cropping – it’s okay to resize, but not crop, as we particularly upload a 1280x720p image with borders etc.

Is it possible for us to let the template ONLY resize the width according to the pixels that fit and then let the image have the height in what ever fits the aspect ratio and with no cropping?

After going through the Jetpack plugin, I found the part that conflicts: it’s the shortcode embedding where you can embed videos more easily.

Turned it off now and the problem has gone πŸ™‚

I just did – 100% complete, fresh upload and the problem is still there.

I then tried deactivating all our plugins and the problem is fixed so I went through them all and it’s WordPress Jetpack, that conflicts.

When Jetpack is turned off, the youtube-script is not there like in v2.

So….. can you have introduced something in v3 that conflicts with jetpack, because jetpack has not been changed in the meantime, so the conflict has arisen after upgrade to v3?

Can the developers please confirm when this will be fixed and/or if there’s something temporary we can do about it?

On one side, I agree with the beta-stage but…… when the former version was working good for you, you could just have waited a few days to see the reactions to the v3 and possible bugs. Then you would have saved yourself the trouble because you could just wait for the 3.1 release with less bugs – I’m sure no one forced you to upgrade to v3 πŸ™‚

Yes, after upgrading to v3, it’s back πŸ™‚

Same here – not sticky anymore πŸ™‚

livingsmarttv

We’re not using the plugin at all, so in our case, it’s not the reason πŸ™‚

livingsmarttv

No we don’t use the speedbooster, as it conflicts with Disqus comment plugin πŸ™‚

Any news?

livingsmarttv

Yes, the site is now without any cache, no minify etc.

Hi Radu

I’m a little surpriced to this advice, as you guys have a thread here in forum telling us to use w3 for better speed, but ok, I removed it now again.

The problem is still there, though?
