Is the TagDiv composer ONLY able to be used on the front end? Or is there a way to use it for editing pages on the backend similar to WP Bakery (the old Visual Composer)? Personally, I love the theme, but am not really a fan of these front end WYSIWYG editors. Thanks mate.

Thanks for your response. I’m purposely using a lower version of the theme because there are updates in the later versions which I do not like (i.e., changes to WP Bakery which deleted certain features I need and are now only available in the TD composer). As I mentioned in a different post, the TD composer is buggy for me using a Mac with Sierra OS 10.12.6 (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/td-composer-editor-pane-margin/). To my knowledge, this has not yet been resolved and I currently need to make edits to the TD composer source files in order to see the entire editing pane on the left).

My computer is using only Sierra (Version 10.12.6 (16G1314)), not High Sierra. Not sure if that makes a difference. I think my work computer which is an iMac also uses Sierra and not High Sierra. I believe I tried tinkering with the cache before with no luck, but will have another go again. Not sure if this matters, but I’ve tried the theme in a localhost environment (MAMP) and also on a live site, but same effect.

Cheers Simion, I’ll be curious to know what you find out. I’ve run it on my personal and work Macs both of which have Sierra OS. Perhaps that’s the likely culprit.

@TerrenceLP, Which operating system are you using on your Mac? Can you please provide that here?

I’d like to know if this has been addressed yet. In Simion’s message dated 2 May, he said thy’d run some tests on Macs. Wondering if this has been completed. I’d be open to upgrading if this was fixed, but as of this writing it’s still an issue.

Hmm, I really like the single image with text and how it renders in Visual Composer. It’s unfortunate that all these teething problems are occurring with TD composer. As I’ve said in many posts, I really love the Newspaper theme and have promoted it to a lot of people. I just with you guys weren’t making a concerted effort to push everyone away from Visual Composer. Here are some of the other issues I’ve had with TD composer echoed by other users:

That’s unfortunate. I really like Visual Composer and it’s sad you’re pushing users away from it. As I mentioned in a different post, the TD composer editor pane does not format correctly on my Mac or any Mac using Sierra OS (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/td-composer-editor-pane-margin/).

I really like the Newspaper theme and have been a loyal promoter of your theme to others. I still think it’s an excellent theme, but I’ll admit I’m not happy about more and more options being cut from Visual Composer. It’s just causing me to waste more time working out the bugs on TD composer to try and do the most basic things (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tagdiv-composer-space-below-single-image/).

I have checked this on a different computer and the same issue is appearing on a different mac running Sierra OS 10.12.6. I’m starting to think it’s a Mac issue. I would like to see if you and your team can replicate this on the mac. It occurs on all browsers, not just one. But perhaps it is a Mac issue and not a Windows issue. Not sure. Cheers

Not sure if this is happening with anyone else, but I’m having a difficult time doing even the most basic things. I’ve been doing websites for over a decade so, while I don’t consider myself a guru, I generally know how to get around most page builders and something tells me this isn’t right.

Following on from my last post, you can see in this screenshot (https://imgur.com/pGn483M) that when I add an image, and format it as no-repeat and contain, it has this MASSIVE space below it. When I view it on a mobile device, this space pushes the text way down. If I change the image height, it will bring that space up, but then I’m back to the same problem of it not rendering correctly on different browsers. Shrinking the height on mobile will make it look good on mobile, but then on a laptop the image is very small (still in mobile size).

It’s been a while since I addressed this issue, but I have been toying around with it again and think I have come up with a work-around. I went into the TD Composer css file and was able to add a bit of right side padding to .tdc-inspector .tdc-tab-content-wrap. This at least pushes the editor into full view, but doesn’t really address the issue of why it’s rendering wrong in all my browsers. I tried clearing out the caches, resizing browsers, etc but I didn’t see any intuitive fix.

Check out this screenshot I took https://imgur.com/7mBWDpJ and you will see that the padding is rendering underneath of the right side display. Not sure if this helps with trouble shooting it, but I think the bottom line is that the formatting is right, but somehow the panes are overlapping. Make any sense? I’m not computer guru but am open to suggestions. I’m on a Mac running Sierra 10.12.6.

Hi Palle_66, I don’t use TagDiv Composer. I prefer Visual Composer (WP Bakery). TD composer has a number of conflicts with my set up so I don’t use it.

You guys need to add category tag color not just on post page but also on other pages such as the home page.

This was available in version 8.5 (https://imgur.com/89jVoqe) but not in version 8.7 (https://imgur.com/yPs4e11).

I’ve seen a lot of people asking this question but this functionality has since been removed and, in this case, it’s not a basic CSS fix. Note all the different classes on the bottom right of this image https://imgur.com/MPf58Vz. Good luck finding the correct class that affects only the category tag colour, and then when you assign a specific extra class to it, it doesn’t work.

Would be very helpful if you simply brought back this option in the next update.

However, I think a question that everyone is asking is how to change the category tag colours on EACH category tag on the home page. Yes, it’s easy to change the category tag colour on the post and category page, but many people are asking to change the colours on the home page. This was available in Newspaper 8.5 (https://imgur.com/89jVoqe) but is no longer available in 8.7 (https://imgur.com/yPs4e11). It requires custom CSS, which I am experienced in doing, but it is extremely convoluted and not a simple fix.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t currently have TD Composer installed on a live installation at the moment (I tried and deleted it as a test). I have tested it again across Safari (V11.0.3), Firefox Quantum (V58.0.2), Firefox Developer Edition (V60.0b2), Chrome (V64.0.3282.186) and am still seeing the same thing.

I’ve also tried resizing by zooming in and out and it does not make a difference.

I’m thinking maybe there is a setting on my computer beyond the browser that might be affecting it. Do you think this is possible?

I’ll try to tinker around a bit more and, if no luck, I’ll reinstall on a live demo site for you to have a look.

It is a fresh installation on a local server using MAMP so wouldn’t be able to provide a login. I do not have any other plugins active, so that’s not a possibility. I’ve also tried it on a live installation but it’s the same thing. I already tried clearing the browser caches on Mac Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Firefox Developer Edition with no luck. Perhaps you can provide a screenshot of what your TD Composer editor screen looks like. As I played around with it more, I can still “get by” but it’s just distracting to have the right margin cut off like that. I may just go back to WP Bakery to keep it simple. Cheers

I’ve found Automattic AMP to be extremely limited as to be virtually useless. I’m finding that AMP for WP is much more customisable. There are a few glitches there too, but I can live with them for now and probably beat them into submission.

I also support other people’s requests for AMP pages to be built into the native Newspaper theme (if and when feasible). Seriously, Newspaper is such a great theme on so many levels and it would really give TagDiv a decided advantage over all other themes by offering an AMP feature.

Disallow: /wp-content/themes/

I can’t imagine it would lead to any issues since it’s just telling Google not to index this folder. Or maybe I’m wrong so would welcome any input or suggestions.

I was considering the same thing but just edited the text in footer.php to customise it to my liking. So instead of “Follow us on Instagram” I was able to change it to “Follow <website name> on Instagram” Just an extra option if you wanted some text there 😉

I’m using header style 1 and am having the same issue with the search icon being pushed below the menu. I just upgraded from 8.2 to 8.5.1. I have re-saved my settings as you mentioned and cleared the browser cache, site cache, and my CDN cache, but the problem is still there. I have used the following code to hide the search icon until there is consensus on a fix:

.td-icon-search{
display:none!important;
}

If perhaps I’m missing something, I’d welcome any input/feedback/tips which anyone can provide.

I am having the same exact problem after updating to 8.5.1 from 8.2. This is definitely something that needs to be fixed

I have used the following custom CSS code to hide the search icon until it’s fixed. Maybe it will be useful for you too in the intermediate:

}

I would welcome a response from the TadDiv team about this. I love the Newspaper theme and generally know how to fix most things, but this would be a lot of time I don’t have to try and recode things to get it the way it was.

And anyone else who might care, I have isolated the issue and it appears to have come down to a caching plugin.

I use WP Rocket cache. I disabled it then went to three different browsers where I was not logged in. I left a few dummy comments from different names and it worked.

I reactivated WP Rocket cache and then refreshed those pages on those browsers and left new comments. Oddly, it decided to work.

I’m not sure I understand why, but at least in my case, disabling caching and then reactivating it seemed to work (scratching my head).
