Sorry, just to follow up here. So I was able to add the widget to the sidebar. However, the only option in the drop down in TagDiv is “newspaper default,” which therefore only allows one set of ads. So if I place two widgets on the page, they will both be forced to show “newspaper default” ads. How do I create a second widget, similar to “newspaper default” within the widget section of “appearance” so that I have more than one item in the drop down in TagDiv to choose from?

The favicons have been in those two places since the beginning, so there aren’t any changes that would require a re-indexing. Any other ideas?

Thanks, yes, I know the individual author pages are come after the “author” slug, the problem is that this page “https://rareparenting.com/author/” redirects to the template page “https://rareparenting.com/tdb_templates/author-template/”. Creating a redirect for a redirect doesn’t seem to make sense. I’m asking how to remove the current redirect. To that end, where do I find the https://rareparenting.com/author/ page in order to remove the redirect to the template?

1 – So far it seems one plug-in doesn’t work with the theme at all – could you let me know about that, as mentioned before, PublishPress Authors doesn’t seem to work.

2 – And the other plug-in works, but doesn’t allow the functionality I need.

3- As for using the custom field, do you have information on how to add the link and photo?

4 – Lastly, do you have expectations to add this functionality to the theme in a next theme update?

Hi Anamarie, we use SEO Framework and are able to noindex, but, the page still exists on the website, publicly. The problem here is also that the page “https://rareparenting.com/author” redirects to this template (https://rareparenting.com/tdb_templates/author-template/).

As such, is it possible to not have the template live, or is that necessary for it to function on the other pages?

And, secondly, why is the /author page redirecting to the template, and how can I change that?

Yes, I would like to add a photo, and frankly, it would be great if the theme allowed multiple authors (or a plug-in) that linked to the co-author pages, same as the way the original author can do. Long-term, the upkeep this way is much more difficult as well. However, it is an amazing short-term fix that is better than the Molongui plug-in, while we wait for TagDiv to either provide an update or offer a better solution. I really appreciate your help and care!

I tried both the plug-in you suggested, as well as the PublishPress Authors Plug-in. Neither work. Here’s why:

Molongui allows a second author, but that author has to have a WP account. For a medical reviewer, that’s not possible. It allows a guest author, but then it doesn’t allow you to add a link to that person’s name, which also defeats the purpose of showing authority.

PublishPress Author allows a second author, but it doesn’t seem to work with tagdiv. When I add the second author, the name doesn’t appear in the post.

To be clear, what I would like to do is have one element (single post author) with the name and byline (“written by”) on one row, and the next row would have a second element (single post author) and byline (“medically reviewed by”).

So it would look like:
(photo) Written by Megan
(photo) Medically Reviewed by Sam

Is this possible?

It is, yes, and it works fine on my phone, but per google, the website does not work on mobile (per the screenshot I sent via google, you can see it does not work on their end/via their tests).

Ah no, this issue isn’t solved. This is a separate issue, where the homepage isn’t rendering on mobile, per google. The solved issue was regarding a specific post that wasn’t rendering in mobile or desktop.

Also, to be clear, the mobile version isn’t indexing because it’s not rendering correctly – please see the screenshot. The page doesn’t work in mobile according to google.

Hi Anamaria, Simion created a new template to test this, and it does work in other templates. For some reason it doesn’t work in the template supplied with the theme.

Bettina suggested disabling all plug-ins and purging the cache, which seems to have worked. However, I also noticed the colors of all titles reverted to black. Naturally, I was able to fix this by simply going in and changing them all back. My question is, why does there seem to be a new problem when I look at our website, without having made any changes to cause problems? We shoudn’t have to monitor our site regularly to see if colors changed or webpages stopped working. Any idea why we keep having problems? Thanks!

Just following up on this. So far the only solution support has suggested is using a different template for this post, as it seems the template that came with the theme doesn’t work for this one post, for an unknown reason. Obviously we can’t have one page look completely different from the rest of the site, so this isn’t an option. Is there a way to escalate this issue?

No sorry that threat doesn’t apply. We already use a plug-in, and further, it works for all other posts. It is only this one post that is sharing a “tag” from the article, instead of the article itself: https://rareparenting.com/valerian-and-seizures/. Please click one of the share buttons to see the problem. I actually removed that tag “sodium valproate” and it’s still sharing that tag anyway, instead of the article. Something wrong is happening on the back-end. Thanks!
