Perfect, thank you!
Yes those are all set up already and correctly. The problem is that when the block is added to the page, the page goes blank.
I tried that already too. You can see on the page below, I have inserted both the widget and the text with title blocks:
https://rareparenting.com/events-calendar-test/
Padding is set and for some reason only works on one side of text with title, and doesn’t effect the widget. Padding doesn’t work in the element or the row at all, only the column.
Width is set to 100% in the column, row and element for both elements.
I tried that already too. It fixed the elements at the bottom of the page but not the top, and the sides of the calendar are still cut off. See the duplicated test page I made here: https://rareparenting.com/events-calendar-test/
Right now for settings I have: no margins set, the text with title is in it’s own row, and it’s on stretch row.
See the loom video here – I am also showing you what it should look like, using their default template. You can see the text with title distorts the search bar. That actually doesn’t happen when it’s in a widget, but in the widget the sides are also cut off, even with stretched row with content: https://www.loom.com/share/cd25f5a143714241a8c43b9eaaf3af1e?sid=5b636822-94c7-43fb-809f-7478830c09ae
Hi Bettina, I tried that, but the other elements on the page go haywire: https://imgur.com/y1TN1MC
and the sides of the calendar are cut off: https://imgur.com/a/5rxEwG8
I also tried using a widget, which doesn’t affect the other elements on the page, but the sides of the calendar are also cut off: https://imgur.com/a/onKLNOR
Just to follow up, I also tried “text with title” but adding the shortcode in there also made the other elements on the page go haywire.
Theme 12.6.6.

Which settings would you like to see? For social counter, even if I delete and re-add the plug-in, with no settings adjusted, this happens. See this loom here: https://www.loom.com/share/281dfb613982476b81f1a14a2d9fbd22?sid=693a62f6-37d2-4f3b-81ad-211fab4396c4
Hi just to follow up, the plug-in is actually crashing the site. It was working for about an hour but then the homepage (where it lives) crashed, and went blank. When I deactivated the social counter the page worked again. I then deleted the plug-in, re-installed, and same thing happened. When it’s activated the homepage goes blank. Any ideas? Thanks!
Is this fixed yet? I’m also not seeing the counters work, and have also followed all steps, same as @mariobrown. Thanks!
Ok thanks! Do you have a better solution than WP Rocket?
Hmm I’m not seeing it at the bottom of the page. Instead, I’m seeing the “Create your own user feedback survey” at the top of the page. This is the Survey Monkey language that comes at the bottom of the embed.
Yes the width is set, and yes I tried re-adding it, but the problem is still there. Thanks, Anamaria!
They should all be with green backgrounds. See the screenshot https://imgur.com/9ALU35m to see they are set to have green backgrounds, and in designer they appear correctly.
Not only that, but I am also now seeing the newsletter widget isn’t displaying correctly, either. The background color, font, etc are not displayed correctly as seen in designer. https://imgur.com/qACFyYs
Ok thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Nevermind, I found them in newspaper -> plug ins (I was checking the regular plug-ins section). Thanks!
Got it, ok thanks Anamarie.
Thanks, Bettina! Per that thread:
None of the 3 ways Anamarie mentioned of accessing the templates work – they all show the same error message.
The memory limit was increased by siteground to 512, and we are on SSL and I’m on good bandwidth.
Any other ideas? Unless, does it take a few hours for the new memory to start working?
Thanks!
Megan
Ok great! Yes, it seems to be working now.. let’s assume cache then. Thank you!!
Hi Anamarie,
Thank you. I was able to create a second template, with an updated date, however, it doesn’t work. When I’m logged into WP, the “updated” text shows, but when I’m not logged in, it only shows the date, no “updated” text. See this page here:
https://rareparenting.com/valerian-and-seizures/
The original publish date was August 2023. I deleted that line item, added the modified date, changed the text to “updated.” This was all done under a new single post template.
As mentioned, it says “Updated April 2024” when I’m in WP working, but on other browsers (not logged in), the “updated” text doesn’t show.
Please let me know? Thanks!
Hi Anamaria,
I’m unable to activate that plug-in because it says, “The plugin is disabled because it is incompatible with this version of Newspaper.”
What do you mean by using the header live search and customizing it for mobile? The problem I’m having is that the mobile version is not mirroring the desktop version. For example, the desktop version includes only the image and title. The mobile version also includes the excerpt, the comment count, the date, and “read more” text.
Thanks
Thanks, Anamaria,
For excerpts, there isn’t a mobile option (nor the one you pointed out “module mx2”). Three options are present: slider module, mega menu module and trending now module.
Everything else works, thank you!
Megan
Hi Anamaria, do you have another option? That code didn’t work for our site (rareparenting.com).
Hello, that code didn’t work for my site. Do you have another option? https://rareparenting.com
