Agreed. The formatting of using the real VC Video Playlist (which is kind of misleading since we actually cannot use a video playlist) – with the video thumbnails along the side is preferred. With your screenshots you have to know to click on the icon to see the next videos – something a lot of users don’t know how to do.

This suggestion is no different than just embedding the playlist straight from YT. This would be beneficial – to have the PLaylist feature actually show playlists:)

Exactly – the sizes of NP are not inline with Google standards. So you lose a ton of adsense – which makes the ads useless all together. Matched content SHOULD look like related posts – whether a specific size or responsive per NP standards. But they don’t look anything alike because NP sizes are different than standard Google and if you let NP control the ad sizes via responsive ad setting, it shrinks them too much, making them near invisible.

So matched content won’t perform well for anyone using NP.

Hi – I am testing Matched Content with NP theme right now. Even though NP does not have the correct size settings in place, I can see (for my sites), that Matched Content has a good RPM and overall has added to my income.

NP – I’d like to see the ad sizes/auto changed. The Ad options in the Theme Panel are great (for all ads) – however, the Auto setting is all wrong. No matter how big an area I allow it with a Google responsive ad, (banner, full page width at bottom, etc), NP chooses a 468×60 ad. Which is way too small and won’t generate revenue. It looks terrible in the header (so I had to manually code a 728 ad) and it disappears as matched content when added to Article Bottom Ad (where MC should go).

In the pull down settings, there are no good options for sizes that will go with matched content (or most Google ads actually). With or without a Sidebar in place. With a sidebar, the closest is 640×300 but that still is too big for the width of the column and cuts off a third image. 500 width gets 2 images across and 750 gets 3 images across.

So for matched content, we need width choices of the same to make them work. Or, NP should allow the Google responsive ad without overriding the google choice – which are bigger ads.

Spoken like a purely technical person and not someone who understands that the main goal of some websites is income-generation. The technology is there is to support the revenue – not the other way around.

Without the untested plugins, there’d be no income. Without income, there would be no reason to have a website at all or purchase any themes.

So please – point out which of your “tested” plugins falls in the income-generation category??? Sticky banners, rotating ads, affiliate links, datafeeds, etc?????

My business is a website. It’s live and is my full time income – so I can’t deactivate anything or I lose $$$$$. So that leaves cloning the site and going through the plugins one by one. The cloning alone requires at least an hour. Then all the plugins. So yes, it’s a full days work.

It would be nice if every error didn’t require 8-10 hours of work to troubleshoot. Just once, it would nice to get the answer or information towards it.

I do have a lot of plugins – they are necessary for WP to work as a CMS and support a real website. But I guess I’ll live w/o the sticky sidebar. It’s a fact it was there from the day I installed this theme, without the smart bar and there’s been little change in my plugin configuration since. But it’s not worth a half day’s work to troubleshoot.

I definitely had a sticky sidebar without any plugins. I’ve turned on the smart side bar but it’s still not sticky.

I’ve never used the smart bar – but is there a setting somewhere for sticky? Maybe it got unchecked during one of the theme updates.

Is there another option that won’t be half a day’s work (cloning the site and deactivating plugins). There are no new plugins. It just stopped working out of no where. And I can’t disable VC anyway because that crashes the whole site and it hasn’t been fixed.

What version of VC should we be using right now? I’m at 4.11.2, which is the most recent on Envato.
