signals To come full circle. The problem was created initially from a database permissions issue/ hosting side. Permissions were corrected but the problem would not go away. The answer was to clear browser side cache /facepalm

signals Hello Thank you, I had to resave each category meta description then it did seem to work in some of the cases. However I am seeing that there are a bunch of categories and some posts as well that are still not showing the meta description properly even though I check in the Theme and yoast and both are populated.
to elaborate, Some of the posts/category meta descriptions are incorrectly showing the footer text as the meta desc, or it displays meta description from a completely different category all together, or the category in some cases is showing a meta from a post.
Additionally even though I’ve toggled the /category level off in yoast, I’m seeing duplicate content in google results like this

signals Not completely sure if this hardcode will throw other errors but if you locate newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_social_sharing.php and comment out lines 75 – 82 this appears to effectively disable the social icons being hidden behind the + sign on firefox. I’ve been testing but it appears to have worked for now. If you use a child theme you can place this change there. or re-implement the hardcode each time you update the theme.

I tried using the “text with title block” as you suggested but it doesn’t seem to want to allow any html in there to make it clickable. If I try to place the div wrapper for the block title in the body, the same, wp removes it. I can only achieve exactly what i have now. However, my apologies for even posting as I needed to just use block 1 and it did what I needed it to. For some dumb reason I thought it was going to display differently.

signals signals We had to remove the markup as we are unable to leave the website overnight looking badly with that modification.
However, if you execute the H3 to H2 change/hardcode suggested in the screenshot, it is easy to see that the mega menu article titles become huge since they both use the same code to call the article titles.
<h3 class=”entry-title td-module-title”?> to <h2 class=”entry-title td-module-title”?> then look at a drop down mega menu and you should see the article titles enlarged, I hope that helps
signals Sorry I should clairfy that it is the Post/article titles in the mega menu drop downs that are blowing up large and not the menu buttons names or category names themselves.

I’m sorry if I am not explaining myself well. Right on, I do understand that you can adjust your home “page” to include the template with the loop at the bottom but it also displays articles which I was hoping I could omit from that section/block. I just want the 1,2,3,4 Next Page to be at the bottom before the footer section begins without the articles if that makes any sense

I am facing the same issue’s as many others I’m afraid. I cannot edit any published “pages” with visual composer. pages that are in a draft state or new pages seem to function ok. But anything published the VC ball just keeps spinning.
I updated the theme through automatic update using the Envato theme updater plugin. I have ruled out 3rd party plugins, disabling them all except VC. I’ve disabled, deleted and reinstalled the plugin as well, changed my home page to draft and back to published, no joy. Not sure where to go from here
Please help
signals Hello Thank you for getting back. I do love the theme, and understand that creating such a robust theme that you are bound to run into issues here and there. I am however not under any illusion that there’s a magic button to make rankings go up, but I had hoped that some important seo elements would be implemented into the home page such as the H1/H2 title tags etc so that I may concentrate on content. I will patiently wait for the update as you suggested to @Mayapur Voice. Thank you for your support
signals The Newspaper 6 theme is marketed as an SEO optimized theme and was a good half of the reason if not more for the purchase.
Not trying to troll but this is a topic of high importance and since you mention there is no eta on the update, would it be possible to sticky this post? and/or possibly create a list of SEO optimization issues that need addressing?
I can try and hardcode the changes but the issues for the home page seem a bit extensive for me and am hoping these modifications can be completed quickly, at least in part since I’m indexing for all my pages/posts but not my home page đ
