But you know what – you make a good point!
Admin folk: would be useful to actually explain WHAT the default fonts are in the theme docs on the font section, such as Open Sans and Roboto, or whatever, perhaps even identify which is used where, so folks are better aware of what is being used as “default” ?
If you look at your “page source” to see the HTML, or use the “inspector” in Chrome (F12), you can see the fonts being loaded on the page.
On the download page for your account on ThemeForest, under the name of the theme, note the link to “Regular License”
http://themeforest.net/licenses/terms/regular/2.1
The low-down! The nuts and bolts of this license
1.The Regular License grants you, the purchaser, an ongoing, non-exclusive, worldwide license to make use of the digital work (Item) you have selected. Read the rest of this license for the details that apply to your use of the Item, as well as the FAQs (which form part of this license).
2.You are licensed to use the Item to create one single End Product for yourself or for one client (a βsingle applicationβ), and the End Product can be distributed for Free.
(etc.)
YouTube, in general, prevents autoplay embeds on mobile.
One license covers use on one domain/site.
You can download copy of the license with your files from themeforest if curious π
You can try adding in the IE8 helper classes
some of this stuff
<!-- media-queries.js -->
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
<script src="http://www.send2press.com/wire/assets/themes/magazine/js/respond.js"></script>
<![endif]-->
<code> <!-- html5.js -->
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
<script src="http://html5shim.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script>
<![endif]-->
<!--[if lt IE 9]>
<script src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/nwapi/nwmatcher/nwmatcher-1.2.5-min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/selectivizr/1.0.2/selectivizr-min.js"></script>

What I did was just open up the author.php template and remove the little section for the comment count. π
Yes, the placeholder only works for thumbnails not the “actual” post itself, as you would need to set it as a featured image, which defeats the purpose (meaning if you set a featured image with your default image, you’d get that thumb automatically…) — meaning, the placeholder image doesn’t get set into the post if you don’t put an image in the post, as that is not its purpose.
Luckily TagDiv has good support to help with weirdo stuff like this … be glad you’re not using Woo themes or something as they would just answer support ticket with ‘hire somebody, goodbye’ .. π
You can turn off the sharing buttons from the theme panel under post settings, last I checked π
AMP is simple plugin, and was updated this week. Google will start supporting it on the 24th.
However, it only works with supported platforms … so, still best to optimize the theme’s mobile setup on your site, as you’re trying to do.
AMP is just another “option” to consider at some point as Google will start to “show” that version if enabled on compatible devices over the theme version, if AMP is setup.

I think simplest way is to insert the shortcode to the header file.
Or, create custom fields, then echo/print those custom fields into the template you;re using.
I think it might be in the all files download folder.
Make sure comments are
a) enabled in wordpress admin panel under settings > discussion
b) make sure it’s not disabled in the theme panel settings also
I know… I’ve been saying “entering facepalm mode” a couple of times this year π
Trick with videos is to ensure you put some kind of summary in the excerpt box, so that this gets loaded onto modules, at least that is what we do over here π
No need to start a child theme, just edit the file in the main theme folder – it won’t implode. This is how we do it. Then just keep work folder on your hard drive (same place you should be keeping backups of all your content, images, mysql, dbase export, etc.), with note to self what you changed. Takes 5 minutes and get on with your life π
Ha! yeah, i did that to myself once a few years ago. π
This is most commonly due to having your admin folder password protected.
Or some caching setting interfering with the first login attempt.
Or, you have a redirect – where site is setup as www, but links are without www; or https, where link is http, and the redirect is causing a second login for cookie, since cookie domain might be “out of sync.”
Not theme specific, in other words.

Also, I think we used this once, but not recently….
a) install the wp-optimize plugin
b) switch to default theme
c) delete old theme folder via FTP
d) in wp-optimize, optimize your DB, and delete ALL transient data
e) use the WordPress database reset plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-database-reset/
[ read the docs for above plugin before use !!!!!! ]
you should then be able to reinstall the theme and there should not be any pre-existing data from the first theme setup …
this is presuming you have a blank slate test website, and presuming you have a full backup of your data and mysql file for safe keeping.
Simplest way to do that is just edit the footer file and put in the HTML you want in the sub-footer copyright section. Simple π
Hi, Andrei
thanks. π
This is actually something you could likely “hook in” to the theme with a couple of boxes, without much trouble.
And for older installs, simply find the ‘best place’ to dump the two blocks of code in the various post/loop files, even if done manually.
I’ve been sidetracked by trying to deal with another thing entirely, so have not had free brain cells to play with this at length anymore at this time, but will get back to it later.

π this is why I switched. We still have 2 sites running on Newspaper 4, and I’ve just been too lazy to update t hem other than for security stuff.
Love NEWSMAG, too π
If you want the best optimized view for mobile for users on Chrome/Android, you might also check out the new “AMP” protocol from Google; and get the free plugin made by Automattic (people who make WP) in the WordPress.org plugin repository.
I can suggest “FeedWordPress” …
We also have a newsfeed from our wire service which is available to syndicators to import into news sites at no cost.
It will be included with next theme update once it’s tested as compatible, and not buggy or with security vulnerabilities.
