Per the theme install how-to (see link right side of page); you need to install from the theme zip file and not the “all files” zip, as that includes all sorts of support stuff. You can find the theme zip INSIDE of the big zip 🙂
Usually a good idea to download any zip file from the web and open it on your local PC/Mac to “see” what is inside it before uploading to your website — this also helps ensure there is no malware or other things you might not want to install — in some cases — irrevocably — on your website.
Are the images set as “featured” for each post ? WP needs that to make thumbnails.
You may find the theme docs useful, see link right side of page >>>
https://forum.tagdiv.com/login-how-to-enable-user-registration/
You need to setup your “page” how you want it in the WP page;
use the preset “styles” which you can import without content …
or build your own with the visual composer by building a page, creating rows, and columns of content you want to feature on your home page; then set that as a static page from the WordPress admin panel.
See the theme docs on how to do all of this right side of page >>>>
1) check the adsense code you’re pasting in is complete with any opening/closing javascript tags
2) check your setting in the ad panel to make sure the ad units are “on”
3) if it’s a new adsense account it can take 24 hours for ads to show; or first time ads on this site
4) check the console for errors (F12) to see if some other javascript plugin or widget you’re using is “breaking” the page in some way
hope that helps !
Try using different social plugin?
Have you gone to the normal WP settings for sidebars ?
WP Admin > appearance > widgets > choose sidebar > edit/change/remove/add widget(s)?
1) make sure you have proper open graph tags on your posts; using something like Yoast SEO
2) be aware FB doesn’t always grab image or text properly regardless of what you do on your site.
Images need to be set as “featured” from each post to generate the thumbnails.
Also, images which are in the old posts with old URL obviously need to be search/replaced to load images from new URL.
I use a cool plugin called “Auto Post Thumbnail PRO” from Envato/Themeforest — which is cool; it will take the first image (or fallback image you specify) and set that as the “featured” image for post so that thumbnails get built. It’s super cheap, too.
Not sure if that is your issue, but might help 🙂
Happy new year from Chilly Redondo Beach, Calif., USA 🙂
Did you update the Speed Booster plugin also?
Make sure you
a) have comments turned on in the WP admin panel and check the expiration for how many days back you want to allow comments
b) make sure comments are turned on for posts in theme panel
c) make sure the box for allowing comments is checked YES on the post page where you are not seeing a comment form
d) with some kinds of custom posts, or perhaps an error for a custom page built with the visual composer, you might have error on page causing it to not appear
— tagdiv will likely ask you to provide link to an example post where you’re having the problem, once you check a/b/c above 🙂
There is no appropriate “speed” — benchmark. As every web server varies as well as the level of optimization you do to it.. for instance are you optimizing your wp-config.php file ? TTL and additions to your .htaccess, mods to functions.php file to remove redundant code from headers, remove external loading elements, optimize font delivery from Google by taking the code and putting into your style.css file to only load fonts and not the CSS, etc.
Does your hosting account have a 10/100/1000 switch connected to net vs 10/100 ?
Are you running mod_pagespeed or http/2 ?
Each “post” can load at different speed based on content, server optimization, caching, etc.
Server response time is very important (ours is 0.33 seconds and Google complains about that!).
Some basic testing with *no caching* for reference (all include google fonts, and icons font, jquery from google, google fonts).
Some of our pages load in 2 seconds and not fully optimized, but 1.1MB in size, google fonts, non optimized disqus plugin, 3 ad units on page. http and mod_pagspeed basic setting.
Smaller page, 2.01 sec. (no disqus, 2 ad units, google fonts), 950kb.
Now, on a fully optimized page – no caching:
2.09 seconds (per Pingdom), with 100/100 “grade” 271kb, no ads, google fonts, https page!; mod_pagespeed, NO caching. So, 2.09 sec. on the single run (re-run might be quicker due to some server caching on back end), and yet gets 100/100 grade.
Google does like sites with sub 1 sec loading, but this requires massive amount of micro-optimizations and very effective caching, and generally no external content loading (e.g., native fonts, etc.).
Just some food for thought
… I’m actually working on optimizing our new CMS, and going through the same shenanigans to see “best we can do pre caching” — meaning 100/100 pingdom, 100/100 UX and 98/100 speed on Google Pagespeed insights (hard to get 100/100 consistently it seems … I tweak it, then they hit me with the 0.33 server response too slow!!!).
Always a fun time! 🙂

Probably need to add custom styles for the plugin since that’s not managed by theme.
Look at the page source to see the style class for that plugin’s button; then put some custom CSS over ride in theme panel.
Many plugins now have an option to put custom CSS as part of the plugin itself for when it loads its javascript for the show/hide function.
Sorry if that doesn’t help – just food for thought.
Be sure to update all the plugins also.
You then need to do some tweaks to your home page layout for all the changes made to theme core.
See changelog also if you are using child theme as that needs to be updated too.
Looks like perhaps your directory is not writable or a server mis-configuration at hosting level. Theme doesn’t manage plugin install, WP does.
Best way to install plugins is actually download from the WordPress.org repo, then install via FTP on your site.

For some reason that makes me want to create an “april fools” psychic publishing plugin for WP …. 😉
Sadly, Jetpack doesn’t always play well with other stuff. Often an update is needed by them to address stuff like this since all the JP stuff is loading off the Automattic server.
Likely they have some element that is causing a conflict.
You might try doing alternate placement of the GA code; e.g., not using theme panel, putting in the header or footer manually, or using a different plugin, or the Yoast option, or whatever.
I’m sure somebody else using both JP and GA might have a solution, but I don’t use JP and instead find other plugins or code so I don’t have to suffer the invevitable bugs with JP.
OH, they also can get confused if any of your story headlines are “identical” to other headlines on the web already, due to then thinking it’s variation of same “old” story they already have captured.
Then likely Google having hiccups … they do this from time to time, often end of month, or when doing a major backup/re-index. I see this from time to time and go whaaaa? Google not perfect, by any stretch. 🙂
Install from just the theme folder zip and not the “all files” zip that has things like photoshop file, docs, etc.
You should be using a Google sitemap which should show the proper timestamp and last updated time. You can look at your XML sitemap to see if the correct values are there.
Also note, if referring to Google / Google News, sometimes they have the timestamp off if the GMT/EST specifier is wrong, or the “local PHP time” is offset on your local domain.
Usually a simple php script to echo current time can help determine if your php local time on domain is actually correct and not offset from “real time” — meaning we had this issue once where server time was 9am EST, WordPress time was 9am EST but actual local php time was 8am PST.
Might not help, just food for thought 🙂
