Not needed. See the documentation link top right of this site.
You will likely need to hire a developer as, again, what you want to do is not built in to WP, or the theme.
Nice work! @mehedi
I had planned to do something like that for WP (for our WP sites, for same reason you did it) based on the work I did building that exact thing for our classic non-WP site … but ran out of time. Will try your plug when I circle back 🙂
(example of my version running on our business site; not available as WP plugin, but same idea: http://www.send2press.com/services/press-release-distribution.shtml)
Thanks for the shout out, too. I won’t be helping out any more this month beyond bug report/fixes which I’m concentrating on now.
I’m now dealing with implementation of mod_spdy with mod_pagespeed to allow site to run under SSL for Google’s new push for that (super annoying). I’ll have some info on that once we suffer all the inevitable calamities of doing something only 10 people seem to know how to do (sigh … ask your hosting co about mod_spdy and watch their head explode). 🙂
GREAT JOB!!!!
Awesome 🙂
It’s not a huge thing, but I do notice it on my iPad while watching TV and going … hey!
Seems to happen only when the speed booster is on; or at least that was case with 3.9.2, I didn’t check that with 4.2.2.
Groovy. Funnily enough I had planned to make a plugin for social media sharing icons, since we did that for our main business site (not running on WP, but in house CMS we had built in 2005/7; but allows some of the same kind of hooks and drop-ins, but is running shtml vs php). Now, no time, sadly. 🙂
I believe you would need to create a custom RSS feed by creating custom hidden “page” with a template which includes the most popular post query to show results. Not built into WordPress or the theme. You can Google how to create custom RSS feeds for WordPress sites (I’ve done it), but kind of tricky first time. You might want to hire a developer to help you on this one. 🙂
Okay, I just realized we are paying for Google Site Search on our main portal, where I’m doing the blog with Newspaper, and occurs to me it “would” be great idea to use the Google Site Search paid edition from the top menu to replace the WP search.
Seems like one could hack the top section for that.
Will look into it later on and update if I have examples 🙂

Hi, Lucian
well, it happens on all my sites, but try this one:
(still in progress; basically migrating the “static” area from /articles/ to WP “blog” at /guru/ … 🙂
http://www.send2press.com/guru/effective-self-promotion-begins-with-the-press-release/
I have tagdiv speedbooster running, but have not minified the CSS. All Google fonts in style.css replaced with Open Sans.
For me, only happens on my iPad Air in “portrait” mode, at bottom of story, the < prior story and > next story arrows are gone. No ads on this blog thing, since it’s on company site, although local ads for services will be added.
Thanks for looking.

If youre using internet explorer, try chrome. That was my issue with spin of doom.
Note for those “anxious” to switch to Google search, WPMU has a plugin for this, although not free (cheap vs spending an hour trying to hack your site ….):
https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/custom-google-search/
No idea if it works out of the box with Newspaper menu search bar, but does work as a widget.
Sorry, I don’t have any free time to help with plugin development. I’m just now starting to work on something requiring full attention the next month, so I won’t be helping out here anymore, except to report something interesting (as I did the other day in PageSpeed sticky), or to poke the team about a bug I ran into.
I’d likely start by checking the btn classes already in use by the theme in the main style.css and related css files/less files.
Or, make new classes like btn-mehedi.
Works for me everywhere (including Win7/64 IE11 and Chrome 37) except iPad, which is only time I notice it.
The theme uses custom version of bootstrap 3x, so you’re likely using a conflicting class, or reloading bootstrap when already being loaded by theme?
@mmcmsp
BTW: the version of the Themepunch Revolution Slider plugin which was included with Newspaper 4 was “Version 4.3.8 SkyWood”; and themepunch says the vulnerability only existed in version 4.1.4 and older (which is the version included with Newspaper 3), so obviously those of you updating your themes need to remember to install the updated PLUGINS which come bundled with the theme.
Can you confirm the version of the plugin which was hacked; supposedly the last 29 versions of the plugin have been secure.
If you’re using a more recent version, you should definitely contact themepunch to make them aware of the issue to help others from being hacked also.

FYI, that plugin has never worked properly, and is not recommended by most theme developers. See the docs on this site on how to update the theme.
My pleasure 🙂
You won’t be seeing much help (aka “free tech support”) from me for awhile again, due to the window of “working on one thing with lots of hurry up and wait” and now back to the “must concentrate 100%” stuff.
I will be popping in on any pagespeed stuff since I suffer that everyday in some form or another.
I will also do further tests with my particular new site, since only 2 posts, I can mess with it easily enough, although the two posts are already 301 redirected from the two 15 year old articles from main part of site.
I will try to switch to larger image outside of post with lightbox off and see if that does it.
This may be totally unrelated, since I also first tried with the large full width image and lightbox on, to place a small image of the featured image at bottom of the post, and that didn’t seem to work with G+ either. Again, G+ has some on/off/on/off issues that I see from our other sites where sometimes they grab the full text sometimes just photo and headline. Weird.
However in this one case, switching off lightbox on featured images, AND placing featured image into post, solved it for me.
The version included with the theme update today has newer version.

Check the changelog files in the main download; but I didn’t see changes to them. I usually over-write them just to be safe.
Optimize your site for everything ELSE first without cache plugin, then when you have all other items addressed, such as server settings for gzip/deflate, optimization of images, htaccess file settings (for Apache), etc., THEN go to the setup of caching.
Okay… SOLUTION to the gravatar pagespeed issue with the crappy 5 min. time to live (expiry/caching).
I didn’t want to hack my functions again to make new user meta field, if there was plugin to do it, and finally found one that *works* with Newspaper and WP 3.9.2 to replace the author image from Gravtar, which raises optimization error on Google PageSpeed Insights, with this plugin:
Simple Local Avatars

also in the WP plugin repository on wordpress.org
OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitive update on this topic!
Since I have brand new blog (2 posts!) which I setup this weekend, as a migration of an old static section of business website, to a new folder using WP and Newspaper, I was also having issue with Google+ not grabbing photo+summary, and instead only grabbing my author photo + URL or headline.
So, here’s what I did.
I switched from the full width giant photo (style 4), to style 2, with featured image shown; still same problem.
I switched “show featured image off” and *ALSO* switched off the lightbox feature since I don’t use that — remember Google doesn’t like images which are links as they by default presume them to be ads not featured photos when scraping — and then placed my featured image into both of my new posts, and resaved both.
Viola. Went to share both on Google+ and both of my posts from new blog setup dropped in instantly into G+.
example… works!
https://plus.google.com/102627062589158403110/posts/a39F9Lrpa8t
I am not sure whether it’s the featured images outside of post, since I don’t have problem with that on another site with Newspaper; but I am guessing it’s the lightbox under the post settings being on by default that may be the culprit. So try that FIRST (click to off), and see what happens with your G+ shares.

See this … it didn’t seem to impact the issue,
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/duplicate-ogimage-tag-due-to-fb-video-fix-update/
but I *did* notice the problem is only on my site which uses the show featured image on, vs that being off and then manually inserting the featured image at top of the post ….
view your page source to see the duplicate og:image tags; if using YOAST SEO or similar, you will see the theme insert one above the YOAST stuff.
I am going to try changing the images on my problem blog from the auto show featured image above post, to actually putting it into the post; however, you wouldn’t presume that would be the issue…. but never know.

It’s in the “all files” download from your theme forest account for the newspaper theme; when you uncompress the newspaper-tf folder, you will see sub-folder “plugins.” 🙂
also see, if you wish to use the WP panel to upload, assuming proper file/folder permissions
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
I normally uncompress locally on my hard drive, then FTP up manually to replace old content.
