Christopher is a long time WordPress user. Anything else you need to know is private ;-) I *do not* work for TagDiv, but I've been using their themes since late 2013.

AMP is designed to be very simple for basic fast loading on slow mobile. See Google’s doc on how AMP works.
You can add custom CSS if it meets Google’s AMP guidelines, but there are special uses where you might have to do stuff like class=”amp-image” or similar vs “image”

When you have the home page set up as ‘blog’ — there is then home/page/2 etc.

disable the ‘lazy loading animation’ 🙂

Updated tip:
If you are using Google Chrome, you can now run updated ‘audit’ via console (press F12 key); which can show vulnerable versions of javascript libraries used by old plugins. For instance older versions of JQUERY are not secure!

In Chrome
press > F12
from tabs > “Audits”
check [x] best practices
-run audits’

I think it’s in the post settings from theme panel, unless you’re using separate plugin

That is the amp preview button i have, but i am using the automattic plugin not the tagdiv amp plugin. Glad you found it.

I don’t think the /amp/ endpoint works until the page actually exists; however, you might try saving draft, then do preview, then append /amp/ onto the end to see if the redirect works or not.

e.g.,

WEBSITE/?p=40213&preview=true&amp

might not work depending on how your site is setup.

You might need to turn on the ajax counter method if using caching.

It’s only duplicate content if the ‘full text’ is on two pages and not linked to a canonical story. Google has some good explanations on that, but I don’t have the link. Use LA Times home page as one example. Having headline and excerpt where it links to the actual story, is why the content on the home page doesn’t matter so much for SEO as it’s temporary, where as page being linked to should be permanent.

‘robots.txt’ file is used to identify location of your sitemap, if not already using a sitemap plugin (e.g., Yoast SEO, etc.) with WP, where that will create the virtual robots.txt file for, in many cases.

AMP is generally not used for home page in SERPS anyway, in my experience, as it’s not an AMP format compatible page/post showing merely the text of a single document and so it’s almost impossible to format as a top-down listing of a post line-up when built from multiple modules and formats.

You can disable image sizes not used from the theme panel. See the theme docs for more info.

If you’re using the Automattic AMP plugin (same people who make WordPress), you can.

With the TagDiv version, I think you’d need to save as private, or draft, then preview with the /amp/ endpoint – but have not tried that.

(Sorry, dont’ work here)

Theme does not have custom RSS widget; but there are numerous free ones you can use from the WordPress.org repo. The RSS widget included with WP is made by WP, not by TagDiv, so theme settings have no impact on it.

You need to update all the links in your content, your images found in the theme panel such as logo, favicon, etc. to use only https URLs.

In Google chrome, you can use F12 to view which items are not secure, then you need to update those.

Maybe install via ftp?

I think you need to select a template that uses the featured image, and then the featured image will show up both at top of post and on indexes.

Also note, if you get a good web hosting company, they should start supporting http/2 which helps compress all threads on the fly to keep as a bundle, and speeds up site regardless of theme/framework with https.

if you find my security best practices [tutorial] here in the forum, I believe there is some more info on that which I do for my sites, as well as other ‘hardening’ measures all sites should do.

We disable XMLRPC on all our sites. For WP, you generally only need it now if you are using Jetpack.

You need to actually put the functions into the template, per the ACF docs. Simply creating fields in ACF does not put them into anything. You need to read the ACF docs, create the “if populated” code into your desired post template where you want them to appear.

Did you also update the plugins?

Likely with a platform like Gravity Forms – etc. You need a solution which not only manages adding new users, but then manages the forms you create, what they can do with them, and how they get added either as a custom post format or as standard post in draft mode, etc.

Not really theme related.
