Hi,

I’ve seen such issues before. There can be a few causes, but the most common cause is that something is blocking the theme from saving. Like a security or firewall setting from a plugin or from the hosting.

The cause can usually be seen with the browser inspector by checking the request the theme makes when saving. I’ll take a look at it, this way we can at least know what’s causing it and then check how it can be fixed. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login (user and pass). I’ll check as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Hi,

So for example in the product you mentioned the featured image is displayed here -> https://prnt.sc/0u-SP3AYuWQ6

And you want the featured image to not be displayed at all, and instead the second image should be displayed as the large image.

That could be tricky, the featured image and the gallery are part of the same element, they are integrated together. Maybe it could be done somehow with some javascript, or maybe PHP. I’ll try a few things.

If I may ask, what’s the purpose of removing the product featured image from the product page?

Thank you!

Hi,

We just released an update for Newspaper today, and very soon there will be one for Newsmag. It contains the fix for the issue. It doesn’t affect the Newsmag theme, but since the plugin is called the same and version is the same for both themes, it will get flagged regardless of using the Newsmag composer. We just need to change the version of the plugin basically. Hopefully we can do this today and release this minor update.

We are very sorry for this situation.

Thank you!

Hi,

That’s the perfect result. Litespeed is indeed a very good, and most importantly free alternative, to WP Rocket. For website owners who wants to optimize the website and achieve the best result, every tip and small detail matters.

The update will be available tomorrow, first thing. The package is almost ready.

@ferhatakbas

Is the website infected with malware? What files are being modified/infected because of the XSS issue exactly? Please install wordfence and scan the website if there are such issues.

This vulnerability from the composer is related specifically to the simplified button element -> https://prnt.sc/gvSvPHoOk3iV While this is a medium level vulnerability, even if the button is used in a page, there is very little risk of a website getting infected with malware because of it. I won’t get into more details about how it can be exploited, but again, the chances are very low. If your website is actually infected with malware, restoring backups won’t fix it, neither will updating the theme. Please use a security plugin like wordfence and scan the website’s files in and outside of the wordpress installation.

Thank you!

From what version did you update? Is this the main website? -> https://tbrnewsmedia.com/ That’s Newspaper 4, from 2014. This changes things. Those aren’t old shortcodes, they are very old shortcodes, they don’t exist in the theme anymore unfortunately.

My suggestion is to consider using a new homepage. If you want to keep it simple, I suggest the default demo -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ This is the non-PRO version. These non-PRO demos rely on the theme panel settings and templates.

You can also import just a homepage, they are available separately -> https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All It can be done from the cloud library dashboard -> https://prnt.sc/gmxEkzRSHmY1

Or you can choose any of the theme demos, if you maybe want to update the design -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/newspaper-prebuilt-websites/?demo-type=all

The PRO demos are fully built with our composer, meaning you can edit and customize the homepage and also the post template, category template, etc. with the composer -> https://tagdiv.com/live-visual-builder/

We can discuss more, let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

If you want to reduce the admin ajax requests, my suggestion is to change the pagination type for this block in the post page -> https://prnt.sc/Wvqv_ogWmLeq The infinite load pagination used on that block makes 2 requests each time a post page loads, I suggest using next/prev pagination or Load more button. This way the block won’t automatically make requests on page load and scroll, and visitors can load more posts if they want.

The live search also makes requests while typing in the search box -> https://prnt.sc/6wn31CiDh_WA This can be disabled -> https://prnt.sc/A5bIijIb-1k7

But I suggest starting with the changing the pagination of that block in the post page, then check if the situation improves. If not, disable the live search as well.

Let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Those issues happened after the WordPress 7.0 update. I can confirm that they will be fixed in the next theme update.

These are screenshots from the upcoming theme version:

-> https://prnt.sc/aXDsOBCdrBk1
-> https://prnt.sc/5n8hkGdmOu98

It’s a minor update with just a few fixes, it should be released this week.

Hi,

The old domain is currently using the theme -> https://sdedigital.net/ Removing it would have no point, because it will be detected again since it’s still using the key and the theme, and it will appear again in the license panel.

If you don’t want to use the theme on the respective website anymore, please reset it -> https://prnt.sc/mlFPHcjtQqlX and remove the theme from the website. Then I can permanently remove the website from our database.

Let me know.

Hi,

The older shortcodes and also the older templates were separated a few years ago into a plugin. The plugin is called standard pack, please install it -> https://prnt.sc/8SDPAd98-Y3_

Then the shortcodes and the templates should be available and the website should display correctly. Please try it.

Thank you!

Hi,

I will take a look as soon as possible. In the meantime, could you please check if the woocommerce extended compatibility mode option is active? It’s here in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/ox_ENsiGxY_e Sometimes activating that option fixes various issues when using woocommerce plugins that add elements in the post page.

Thank you!

Hi,

I can’t quite tell what that image is exactly. Did you install a theme demo? Either way, if it’s not set per category in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/bBQzZ9jBxVh8 then it must be set somewhere in the composer.

Could you provide a link to the website so I can check where the image is set? Or if you want you can send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide the link, and admin access, this way I can check and remove it as well.

Thank you!

Sorry for the delay.

That green line is an icon. It can be removed. It’s a bit hard to select it, so I suggest moving that block somewhere else temporarily, for example -> https://prnt.sc/ezxxt0z5uT6l Then you can select the icon and delete it. Then move the block back where it was.

The articles are written in wordpress. The theme provides a subtitle field where you can enter a subtitle if you want -> https://prnt.sc/vJp4xSPklKmj Then to display the subtitle in the post page, please edit the post template with the composer and add the subtitle element in the location you want -> https://prnt.sc/8e2DtXHJoAHY

Concerning the photo credits, would you like to add them as the caption perhaps? A caption can be added when you add the images in the post content -> https://prnt.sc/5-FglOiuSdfV

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you!

Hi,

Contributors and authors don’t have access to the opt-in builder or the cloud library. They can see the reviews but can’t edit or approve them. Only editors and admins have full access to these.

Do you want contributors and authors to have access? That would require adding an editor or admin capability to them, it could be done with a user role plugin. But then they will have full access to all of the settings, they can’t have access to just some of them.

Or maybe I am misunderstanding what you want to do?

Thank you!

Hi,

Unfortunately our theme doesn’t have a dedicated FAQ element.

It could be done manually but if you plan to use multiple FAQ elements in multiple pages then I suggest using a plugin, like this one for example -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-faqs/ It provides shortcodes so you can easily display them in any page. In the composer shortcodes can be added in the dedicated shortcode element -> https://prnt.sc/4n6EU07KeTV8 or in column text, text with title, or raw HTML elements.

I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. Please try that plugin and it should work fine.

Thank you!

Here’s how it can be done.

First you need the page ID. This can be seen in a few ways. For example if you right click and inspect the page -> https://prnt.sc/oACr1Tx4NbzP this is the ID -> https://prnt.sc/DgUq7LRZTulo
Or when you edit the page, the ID is in the permalink at the top -> https://prnt.sc/KXT2zIJHsPPt

That ID can be used in a code like the one I mentioned. For the page you mentioned the code is like this:

.page-id-309846 .td-page-title {
display: none;
}

This can be reused for other pages. For example -> https://prnt.sc/4ktbor3SGX_E

These codes can be entered in the theme. You can add them in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/4HhGY6pzpbu- Or in the Live CSS in the admin bar -> https://prnt.sc/4CGJEv7dLzLD

It’s a quick and easy way to remove the title just for specific pages, without rebuilding the pages or making any other changes to them.

If you need help with it or if you have other questions, please let me know.

Thank you!

Hi,

There seem to be a lot of cases like this and so far we’re not sure why. The server where the key verifications are made is online, the database is in order. I’ll check with the server’s hosting to see if there was any maintenance perhaps, or downtime.

Are there still issues at this time? There shouldn’t be any.

Thank you!

Hi,

@Alex

The license key is assigned to the website you mentioned. If there’s a problem on the website, and the theme is already activated with the key, then it means the problem is related to the key verification. The key verification is made by the theme by connecting from your website to our database. Maybe something is blocking the theme, or there is conflict with a plugin. The issue will have to be investigated. I will investigate it, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website. I’ll check as soon as I can.

@Murphy Alicia
If the problem is the same, please also send an email with the login credentials.

Thank you!

Hi,

Normally the theme doesn’t deactivate by itself. If it was activated with the license key before, and it was not reset manually, then it should have remained active.

Please try to activate it again. Or is there an issue when you try it? If there is an issue, I will take a look as well. Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login (user and pass), and also the license key. I’ll check as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Hi,

Some demos have a few demo ads in the pages and in the templates, these are set directly with the composer, not in the theme panel. However, the ads can easily be removed, it’s just a matter of editing the homepage and the templates with the composer, and removing the ad boxes, for example -> https://prnt.sc/CaMZmcdhgXpT

If the ads appear to be loading but then they disappear, maybe you are using an ad blocker in the browser. Do the ads appear if you check in incognito mode or with a different browser?

If you want I can take a look and remove the ads, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login (user and pass).

Thank you!

I suggest updating the PHP last. So after you update the theme manually.

Updating the theme manually is not difficult. There are 2 ways:

1. I see you have cPanel -> https://brahmanjournal.com/cpanel In cPanel there is a file manager, which you can use to navigate to the themes folder and delete the theme, then you can upload the new theme version and extract it there.

2. Or you can update the theme through wordpress. Switch to a different theme, then delete the Newspaper theme and install the latest version.

Once the new theme version is installed, on the website you can navigate to the theme plugins panel and update the theme plugins from there -> https://prnt.sc/8G-T118T0O09

There is a more detailed guide here if you want to check it out -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

Hi,

There are a few options from the theme that make such requests. Like the live search, the block pagination, lazyloading the footer, the ajax view count. If all of these are used on the website, and the website gets a lot of traffic, then the requests can add up and potentially slow down the website.

Could you provide a link to the website so I can check it? I’ll check what options you are using and what is making ajax calls. If you can’t provide a link in the forum, then you can send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we can continue by email.

Thank you!
