Hi,

That issue can have a few causes. It isn’t a known bug, and it happens in some cases. It can be caused by conflicts with other plugins, or server configuration, maybe other causes.

I will take a look at it. Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login (user and pass). I’ll investigate the issue and try to find the cause.

Thank you!

No problem, it can be made faster than that. Please try this one -> https://pastebin.com/YNAn4STZ and test again. It should be much faster now.

Hi,

It’s a false positive most likely. I’ve downloaded the theme package from themeforest and scanned the composer with virus total, it’s in order -> https://prnt.sc/4iIOjqaTh7AZ I also scanned it locally with Bitdefender, it’s also in order. So it’s safe to say that the composer as provided in the theme package poses no threat.

Maybe the website itself is infected with malware. To know for sure you could test your website with this online scanner from Sucuri -> https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/ Or install the Wordfence plugin and scan the website files with it.

Hi,

That issue refers to the composer from the Newspaper theme, it was related to the button element which Newsmag doesn’t have. It was fixed partly in the previous Newspaper update but it needs an adjustment, we will release a new update this week most likely.

Thank you!

Hi,

@Murphy Alicia
On our side the key appears as assigned to two websites, a main website and a staging website. But if the license panel is not working properly then it means there’s a problem with the key verification. This verification is made by the theme by connecting to our database, and sometimes there are things that can interfere with it. I can take a look on the website directly, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login (user and pass) for the website, I’ll check as soon as possible.

@itduck2020

Is the issue fixed? I can take a look as well in case there are still problems.

Thank you!

Hi,

You will need separate wordpress installs to make that work. The plugins aren’t the same for both themes, so they can’t share them within a single install. Or, use the same theme on the multisite, either Newspaper or Newsmag. These are the only solutions.

Hi,

The post loop that displays the search results should display the results sorted by latest, so the newer posts firsts. This is the case for every post loop, like in the category pages, tag pages, author pages. I tested as you mentioned, and I see there’s a problem, at least on the first page of the search results. There are older posts displayed before newer posts. That’s quite unusual.

Could it be caused by a plugin perhaps? Or what if you try it with a default wordpress theme if possible?

If you want I will take a closer look at it, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access (user and pass) for the website.

Thank you!

Please also deactivate the AMP plugin -> https://prnt.sc/urrTbuqCUPtU because I see that the posts are using AMP on mobile -> https://prnt.sc/55md929Rivvs

But I’m not quite sure what’s going on with the homepage. I can only see a footer in it -> https://prnt.sc/wFJGrZC6LPhB
Did you maybe set a mobile page for it? Please check here in the admin bar -> https://prnt.sc/aKa8U-4ONmoY

Le me know.

Hi,

Currently I see some kind of custom mobile menu, or from a plugin, on top of the theme mobile menu -> https://prnt.sc/xr6is1rpWCft That extra mobile menu is displayed over the entire mobile header actually, meaning that I can’t click on the theme mobile menu, the logo, or the search.

If I delete that extra menu using the browser inspector, then the theme mobile menu seems to work correctly -> https://prnt.sc/tTDRcRp4z_Qw It opens correctly. So the only problem I see is that there is an extra menu in the mobile header, making it impossible to interact with the theme header.

About updating, if the website broke after updating the PHP, that can be caused by multiple things. Could be because of a plugin that doesn’t support newer PHP versions, or custom code, or the child theme as I see you use one, or an inactive extension in the new PHP version, or other causes. I suggest testing on a staging/testing clone of the main website, in order to deal with the issues there first.

From the theme perspective, if you update it just make sure to install this standard pack plugin -> https://prnt.sc/zkjDfLHkzSHy That’s a plugin we added in Newspaper 10. Normally it’s optional, but for older websites it’s required. Older websites are built with the older blocks, grids, templates, etc. and they will not display correctly without that plugin.

Hi,

There’s no option for that unfortunately. But I could provide a code to make it faster.

Try this code -> https://pastebin.com/0fne7wmm Add it in the page where you use the scroll to class, it can be added in a raw HTML element -> https://prnt.sc/7C9JZud4DqN4

Or, if you use the scroll to class in multiple pages and locations, then you can add it in the theme panel -> Just be sure to remove the script tags if you enter it there -> https://prnt.sc/XxWhs2QjX7gy

Let me know if that works.

Thank you!

That standard post template is not actually meant to be used on the website, except temporarily for the situation when there is no post template set. The backup standard template has no customization options.

I believe you installed this theme demo -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_downtown_pro/ On your website I see that except the homepage you are no longer using any of the templates provided with the demo, like the header, footer, post template, category template. This is fine, you can use the templates you want.

The post template that comes with that demo is this one -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_downtown_pro/2022/03/08/the-scars-of-war-will-remain-there-for-life-published-study-finds/ If you want to use a different post template, it’s perfectly possible. And if you want it to look like the backup standard template, you could use this one -> https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/11 Please import it on the website -> then customize it with the composer and set it globally.

Using a cloud post template will replace the standard backup post template, which is normal. But you can easily customize the cloud post template adn make it look as you want. I can help as well, let me know.

Hi,

Maybe there’s still elementor content in it. Which page is it? I have access to the website and I can check it as well. Let me know.

Hi,

That’s the mobile theme version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

The mobile theme is an optional plugin that we provide. It has it’s own design, homepage, templates. Please deactivate it if you don’t want to use it -> https://prnt.sc/4hIOpMXHN4oY Then the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile.

Let me know if I can help more.

Hi,

To clarify, the global cloud post template is the one you set here -> https://prnt.sc/FVRmlSa3lagH

From what I can see in the screenshots, there is no cloud template set for the posts, please set one. Until you set a cloud post template, the theme will use a simpler standard backup post template.

Please let me know if I can help more.

Hi,

Currently I see just one page title in the page -> https://prnt.sc/h2dwbjfjslyj That title is displayed by the theme.

To explain a bit, by default all pages use the default page template -> https://prnt.sc/la5LL16mBQ3X Then it depends on how the page is built.

If the page is built with the wordpress editor, meaning you add content from here -> https://prnt.sc/idQaLUKz5C_J then the theme will display the title automatically. Normally a title is displayed in the page.

If the page is built with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/XrM_UaoZQS8W then the theme will not display the title, unless you add it in the page with the composer -> https://prnt.sc/b_8-puhMmy5G

So one solution would be to use the theme composer to build the page. Or, if you just want to quickly hide the titles for a few pages, then they could be hidden with some CSS, for example -> https://prnt.sc/0qenWAO4oTo2 This is quick and easy, and more IDs can be added in that code.

Let me know if I can help more.

Hi,

Mot of the theme strings can be translated in the theme panel, you can load the translation for Italian -> https://prnt.sc/RcgEiqumUcKZ and also customize the translated strings if you want.

Please try it. Let me know if I can help with something else.

Hi,

I can’t say what would cause this issue exactly, I don’t recall seeing it before. But I will investigate it. Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login. Also I may need access to cPanel or FTP, if you could provide access to this as well it may be helpful.

Let me know and I will check as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Hi,

That issue was referring to the button element from the composer, and was fixed in the previous theme version -> https://prnt.sc/y5HtaW_Cv_87

Patchstack hasn’t marked it as fixed however, so we resubmitted the composer plugin for validation -> https://prnt.sc/qWwI5hE75l3i After they check as well, the issue should be marked as solved/patched.

Improving the theme is an ongoing task, and we try to fix such issues as soon as possible.

Thank you!

What if you activate the theme options to load the styles in the header? The options are in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/C7UG2E3pnput Please activate those settings and clear the caching. Then you could update the plugin again and check if the issue is solved.

Thank you!

I should mention again that this code is just for some posts, meaning the ones where the font settings from the theme are not applying. This code will apply only for some of the posts. The rest of the posts will use the size set in the theme panel.

If I modify it in the code to 14px, it seems to apply correctly.
So 12px -> https://prnt.sc/AeLXXEbe2UAJ
And 14px -> https://prnt.sc/ycdiTKBhijQs

As I mentioned, the font settings from the theme apply to paragraphs, because usually the main part of a post content is made out of paragraphs. The problem you are having is that some of the posts do not have any paragraphs. Instead there are these containers -> https://prnt.sc/VsidZDYnkUYQ which also have a style set on them inline. These will not be affected by the theme font settings and will have a font size of 12pt (about 16px) according to the style set on them inline.

Assuming that you aren’t manually creating those containers or adding font settings on them manually, the remaining explanation is that the text is copied from somewhere else along with the styles.

So I’m not sure what to suggest unfortunately. There are too many variables for the post content and the multiple font settings that apply to them.

Thank you!

That’s on our to do list. We will try to add it in a future update.

That is entirely up to Google, and it can happen sometimes. The theme doesn’t have direct control over it.

I suggest checking some guides, for example -> https://rankmath.com/kb/display-site-name-in-search-results/

And some discussions -> https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/296431129/why-google-displays-url-instead-of-site-name-in-serp?hl=en

Please check those out.

That modification changes the sorting method functionality, not it’s name, the name is set elsewhere. The name is unimportant however. After making the modification the block should display posts from the last 30 days instead of 7 days.

I had to use a VPN to see the website, maybe it is restricted per country. It would have been useful to know about it before.

Either way, now I can see the website and I’m checking it now. The problem seems to be solved after you downgraded the plugin. But please let’s try to clarify the cause of the problem.

So you are using the Accordion plugin you mentioned. And after you updated it there is a problem, meaning that CSS styles from the theme are getting displayed in the page. Then after you downgraded the plugin, the problem was solved. Since the theme works correctly with the older version of the plugin, or by itself, maybe the problem is with the updated version of the Accordion.

I will let our developer team know about it, but I can’t promise that the plugin will be tested unfortunately. It remains to be seen.

I’m very sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you!
