Please try to use a wp-text widget to place your ad code and check if you get the same result.
You can also try a plugin to manage ads, like AdRotate or similar then add plugin’s shortcode into the header ad spot in theme panel.

I have managed to access your site now and can seen the issues you refer too: http://screencast.com/t/Chs3AkL8 This can be caused by a plugin so make sure you also test this without any plugins active, first empty all caches then disable all of them leaving active just the Visual Composer plugin and test again.

Finding and using a plugin would be your best option as the theme doesn’t have any ad spot that can place an add like that.

This may happen due to the 7 days post sorting feature which makes requests to the server to update the counter and keep track of the “most popular posts”if you have it set please try without it, it will lower the number of database queries.

I couldn’t get one with videos to show up so I can inspect it but I suggest you also test this with all your other plugins disabled, empty all caches and also check browser’s console for errors when this happens as I suspect this could be caused by a js/css conflict.

We don’t recommend using auto compression tools for js/html/css but you can try one and exclude the sections that cause issues if minified.

I believe you refer to custom taxonomies. Theme’s new custom post types and taxonomies system hasn’t been extended for blocks yet. This is still in development mode at the moment, sorry!
Right now you can just set the custom post type to be used on block without sort or filter options, thsoe are available just for post post types.
