The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme. Cloud templates and sidebars are included. They do no work while having mobile theme.

I have managed to recreat a zoom effect over the featured image and featured thumbs using the custom css code wich I found here: https://codepen.io/nxworld/pen/ZYNOBZ

As you can see you can find multiple versions of zoom effects.

For the thumbnail photo located in the blocks you will have to add the class: .td-module-thumb and for the featured image you can use the .td-post-featured-image

It appears that wordpress was unable to delete it before updating.

Unfortunately no, there is no option on changing the language of the Theme Panel. The only way you could is by editing all of themes files but that would be incredibly hard and you will have to do it after every update.
