As you can see on the 2 elements on your page, the images behave differently on responsiveness due to the travel class applied, but the problem you have on desktop is not related. It has too much height. The aspect ratio is not appro[riate for this type of wide element. Please change the aspect ratio of your image. Make your image wider (reduce the height) by editing it in a photo editor.

Or if you use any type of special characters (like language specific ones) please remove them and try it with simple text. WordPress tends to strip the sidebars of widgets when any special characters are used.
If you still cannot get it to work, please provide an example of what text you are trying to implement and where.

You can use css do do it, but it depends on the post template you chose. Different post templates use different sized featured images. If for example you use post style 2, then you can use this css:

If you want to have a different font and excerpt for your slider to the rest of the site you have to target a specific class for your slider and then put the desired conditions.

The example code for Slider is ->

.td_block_slide .td-module-title a, .td_block_slide .td-excerpt{

}

1) You can change the excerpt length from the theme panel here: http://screencast.com/t/RHMTvEp2t. If you want to show a custom excerpt, that can be added from the post itself here: http://screencast.com/t/UZ9DzPCymB1
If you want to remove the excerpt in a specific category page, you can either chose a module that has no excerpt or use css to hide it by using the category ID like for example:
.category-102 .td-excerpt{
display:none!important;
}


2) The smartlists show the list title (h3 or h4 or what you set from here: http://screencast.com/t/3neYcsfG), not the picture title.

3) Unfortunately this can only be done with custom modifications but we have no easy solution for it as smartlists are very complex elements and are hard to manipulate.

Please check your code that you inserted into those fields (custom ad 1 and 2). If other fields work, then custom ad 1 and 2 should work as expected. Please copy over a working ad like the example ads that came with the theme or one of your working ads and copy and paste it into custom ad 1 or 2. The fields are the same only with different names. There cannot be any difference between them.

Our theme uses a lot of predefined thumbnails in blocks and modules. If you check the Theme panel->Block settings area you can see the list with all dimensions of the thumbs wich is used in the theme and which elements -> blocks/modules uses -> http://screencast.com/t/tQuimSer9 If you want to exclude the cropping system wich you have to use the right dimension for your images.

Our theme uses the system of cropping from center to top. The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size used by the theme. Basically, when a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image displayed is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Our theme crop (cut) thumbnails in some cases to avoid creating a lot of thumbnails in order to reduce to load more spaces on the server.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate.

If you want to implement another cropping system for your theme and you are not aware to the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry! Usually, we recommend developers from studio.envato.com.
