happy to say the ‘bug’ I reported to the AMP plugin developers is fixed, where when the /wp-content/ folder is renamed (using proper hook in wp-config.php), to something like /assets/ — the amp extension now renders properly. Before it could not find itself when the directory name changed.

Latest version of AMP as of 3/5/16 addresses the issues with Windows servers generating blank pages.

Main issue I’ve run into so far with validation errors is the stupid long-standing way WordPress has done alignment on paragraphs with an align tag, which should not be used in modern HTML. I am guilty of being lazy about this also, and knew it was going to bite me at some point.

So, all the
<p align="center">Centered Text</p>
stuff needs to be replaced with a centered text CSS class.

Search/replace in the mysql dbase seems to be the way to go on that.

Similarly people who were doing tables by hand with stuff like

<td bgcolor="#efefef">My cell</td>

will also need to replace stuff like that with something like
<td class="tdcolorefef">
where you create the custom CSS for that class.

Technically modern HTML should not have *any* inline styles, but should only have CSS classes. Annoying but true. And the Google protocol presumes 21st century HTML and not HTML 3.1 era stuff.

Sadly, I’m old enough to remember hand writing HTML where we didn’t even need closing tags!

I thought the theme would resize / expand newly uploaded images according to the chosen grid size and then crop it as described in the documentation. Have I misunderstood it? Any clue as to what could be going wrong? Thanks.

I am trying to add a feature or plugin in my website that will use search history and IP address of site visitors to sort news and post news to the IP address based on their interest.
Example: If I am always searching for news on Russia or Zambia, the feed and post will send more news on Russia or Zambia. Yahoo news have that feature. Do you guys have a plugin for that or any suggestion?

We’re sorry for for all this inconveniences.
There are many alternatives to control the video’s layout according with it’s aspect ratio but all this involve custom code.
The videos layout it’s entirely controlled by javascript and works like this:
– first read the width of the container where video it’s displayed then set apply a 100% width to the video. For example if the container have 980px width the video will also have the same width.
– second step it’s setting up the height. This value It is obtained by multiplying the width’s value with 0.5625 for videos from vimeo.
This value can be changed anytime but this will affect all videos, no matter what aspect ratio they have. For example by changing the value like this: http://screencast.com/t/eesYaBhn9d I get this results:
– for a video with aspect ratio 4:3: http://screencast.com/t/uq7e9Nu9G
– for a video with aspect ration 16:9: http://screencast.com/t/CiuMxuf8fD You can notice in this screen that by changing the value these black bars will appear on videos with 16:9 aspect ratio. The default value, 0.5628, display correct 16:9 videos: http://screencast.com/t/OzkY7zgx but affect others.

With this informations I intended to point out that by changing the current implementation such that to display the correct videos with 4:3 aspect ratio, will be affected other videos layout, respectively the ones with 16:9 aspect ratio.

A possible solution would be to use only videos with 4:3 aspect ratio and modify the indicated value to 0.7625: http://screencast.com/t/eesYaBhn9d Other solution would be a custom code which calculate the rapport between width and height, and depending by that result apply a specific style such that the black bars to not appear on videos.
This is the complex task which I refereed as are required many investigations and tests in order to obtain best results for videos.

We certainly plan to improve this system in the future updates. I’ve added this on our todo list and when the time comes our developers will consider it. This may take some time because we have a long implementation list and we take them one by one.

If remove the code in .js the modal windows is removed, but the link assign to the image (example: to this image i have assign http://www.google.com) don’t appear in the code!!! and open in the same tab the image!!!

To apply a different style on mobile devices you can use media queries like this:

@media (max-width: 768px){
.css-class-of-the-element{
color:red
}
}

This is just a basic example but works like this: for screens smaller then 768px apply a red color for the element with this css class: .css-class-of-the-element. You have to replace this expression with the real selector of the element of which’s style you want to change.
Note that this is a complex task which require good css coding skills and many tests in order to be accomplished. If you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.

As a heads up to anybody moving to get AMP setup ..
the one major bugaboo seems to be Google not liking the obviously bad method WP has used for centered text all these years (which should have been a CSS class).

FYI, all the

is going to show as an error in AMP validation (!).

Seems like a good time to remember how to do a search/replace via MySQL for the WP post meta.
