We have noted that therm is a proliferation of images in the upload directory. For example, for one image we see the following images stored:

However, if we look at the code we see:

This made without referencing the stored images. In addition, if we go to the image lib in WP we see only one image. The problem from our point of view is that this proliferation of images has driven the the whole WP site over the ISP’s backup limit. Have you any thoughts about where we go? can we delete all the images except the one basic image shown in the image lib? Thank you.

I installed the newsmag theme and the example td-custom-post-type plugin to test the functionality.
I created one book and associated two ‘genre’ terms to it.
When the book is displayed in the front end, the two genres are displayed above the title, that works like expected.
clicking on of the two terms ends up with an empty page – I expected to see all associated book in that case.
So how will I bring this to live?

Our theme uses a lot of predefined thumbnails in blocks and modules. If you check the Theme panel->Block settings area you can see the list with all dimensions of the thumbs wich is used in the theme and which elements -> blocks/modules uses -> http://screencast.com/t/tQuimSer9 If you want to exclude the cropping system wich you have to use the right dimension for your images.
Our theme uses the system of cropping from center to top. The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size used by the theme. Basically, when a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image displayed is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Our theme crop (cut) thumbnails in some cases to avoid creating a lot of thumbnails in order to reduce to load more spaces on the server.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate.

Here is a tutorial on how to create a new thumbnail in our theme:

In this case we are adding this thumbnail:

2) After you added the code for the thumbanil and renamed it to match the sizes you want, you will need to access the module you want the thumbnail to be used in: http://screencast.com/t/UaYgy9aX

In most cases it will need a few css ajustments in order for it to display properly.

Hello,
The newspaper theme has a few more features than newsmag so you need to be mindful of the block elements you want to use on your website. In principle, the image size suggested by Chris should work properly on newspaper as well although in some cases you will probably need the thumbnail upscale plugin for big grid 2 for example which uses a larger thumb (741×486) . The sticky bar from Header Style 8 ignore logo image width.
When main menu is draw in sticky bar, the theme don’t add the logo width to the left menu position. As result the main menu overwriting the logo image.

The function which generate that pagination can be found in td_page_generator.php http://screencast.com/t/EpLaTGGx4J The pagination for blocks it’s based on ajax and the hard part comes when this numeric pagination: http://www.screencast.com/t/RSGBCaVe2 must be adapted as a ajax pagination. Basically when you click on the page 2 or 3, the main page won’t reload, as happens now. The final implementation should be similar with this one: http://www.sanwebe.com/assets/ajax-pagination-basic/ but adapted at our theme’s requests. You can use this example if you want to give it a try: http://www.sanwebe.com/2013/02/ajax-pagination-jquery-php-simple but as I said in my previous reply it’s a very complex task which require time and many investigations in order to be accomplished successfully.

Like to see predefined “Feature name:” for quick review posting for different products.
