I have a few questions, to which I hope I can find some solution.
I used to have 20 websites and I’ve just merged them into 1 large website. It happens that among the 500+ pages I have now, 95% are pages, and not posts. I have always used pages as posts and vice versa over the years on my former websites
I realize now, after having imported everything, and put it all in order, that pages have very few rights, be it in the composition of articles or display features. What would seem simple is to use a plugin that will transform all the pages into posts but this will mess up in depth the thousands of internal links, linking articles between themselves.
I’d have the first following questions that concern giving the same features to pages as posts:
1) In “related posts” or to display social networks, can this appear in pages and not posts only ?
2) In the mega menu, only posts appear, not pages, is there a way around it? Because of that I have categories that display nothing as I’ve no posts, but only pages.
3) All in all, is there anything I can do to for the pages to be used and display like posts ?
Other questions:
A) In the mega menu, as in http://www.consobrico.com, if you check the menu with “Salle de bain”, only the first 7 or 8 categories are displayed. However I have 11, but unless the visitor know he needs to scroll down within the menu, these are invisible. Is there a way to have all the categories displayed ?
B) In the category section, for ex: http://www.consobrico.com/category/salledebain/colonne-de-douche/ is it possible to have infinite scroll or “display more’ rather than Page 1/3, Page 2/3 etc…
C) I seem to have mistakenly erased the contact page ex: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/contact/ with the contact box, etc.. how can I retrieve it?
D) I’ve always used for almost all my content creation the “Thrive Content Builder” plugin. It seems to work nicely with the theme, however it doesn’t display the summary in categories for example http://www.consobrico.com/category/salledebain/colonne-de-douche/ (if you need my login details, let me know where I should send you send these to).

When I publish a post using style 6 the featured image is on the left side of the page. Not full screen.

Chances are is if you are using this theme you have run into an issue with lazy loading. The current lazy loading in the theme is not very good and causes several issues leading us to disable it because let’s face it most users are having problems with it. Soo the better replacement is Rocket Lazy Load.

Difference between this plugin and the theme lazy load. It is better for page speed lol. If you look at the theme and you analyze the page such as the demo ( http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ ) then the images are not really being lazy loaded. If you were to take this page and look through GT Metrix or another testing tool the image is still being shown on the waterfall and the reason is quite simple, its not being lazy loaded instead there is an animation to make it appear as if it were being lazy loaded.

True lazy loading takes away the impact of those images being loaded by replacing them with an alternative. Which is why on some sites you will see something like gray.gif or something being loaded in testing tools because it’s a smaller file which reduces the load time. However, the more appropriate way is to use a base64 version of the image to reduce the HTTP requests. This is where the browser is actually creating the image based on that code meaning it doesn’t have to download another image thus reducing HTTP requests.
Example: data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAAAAACH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==
The animation for this theme is beautiful and looks much better than the above plugin but in terms of speed it doesn’t seem to stack up. In fact, if you implement the above solution I am willing to bet you will do better in terms of speed than you would using the theme’s version.
I recommend that tagdiv looks at improving the lazy load animation by truly making it lazy load images, and to solve the animation issues that have been occurring on most users sites.

After I upgraded to newspaper 6, the comments part is a bit mix. When users make big comments and use new paragraphs, there is no space between two paragraphs.
This happened after newspaper 6. How I we solve this?
And another question… Under some photos and thumnails, there appears some texts and informations about those photos. Before upgrading there was not such an option either… How can I hide them?
Hello, I created several pages on theme. One is the home, while the rest are single page with defined themes. The problem is that I’m using WP Super Cache and when I publish something, the pages are not updated, or the principal or the other.
For example, published an article about comics, and this does not feature on the homepage or in the comics section or in the comics category.

In my blog many users post many articles. But i (admin & editor) want to show only the important and selected posts in the big grid. But now anyone can choose the featured category in the post page & it appears in the big grid. I think admin should have control over what will be shown in the top big grid. Otherwise it is valueless. How can i achieve this?

Yes, it now showing but whenever I setup the background image and enabled stretch bg, it puts the site immediately on error handler. I’ve experienced this scenerio twice now. Actually, I want to have a box layout with meracana/championship league stadium as default background image as well as make the site sonic speed (core reson for purchasing Newspaper) but I’ve not been a able to get a clear lucid bg image and make the site sonic fast. Though I’ve request private support for fast loading in another track, right now, I wouldlove to use background manager to render a sharp image bg for the sport site, hope it works fine.

1. max_execution_time : 30 – the execution time should be bigger than 60 if you plan to use the demos

One of the core reason using Newspaper framework is to boost the speed of our WP news site on desktop and mobile. May I ask for your private support to aid in configuring td-speed booster plugin as explained? We want to use the champions league background image hence we have the background manager plugin installed because the one that came with Newspaper when activate “stretch” makes the bg image blurred. We are yet to install WP Super cache as recommend. I don’t know the reason why you don’t use w3total cache plugin but its ok so far it makes the site faster.

With the 4.1 version the speed booster plugin is automatically disabled as it is tested and it works fine with some recommended plugins. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the plugins are not written ok. For example some of the plugins do not respect the google pagespeed recommendations of punting javascript at the end of the page and they just try to use jQuery in the middle of the page. Cum scot partea incercuita din footer fara sa modific style-ul footerului. CSS-ul este mult prea complex pentru cunostintele mele sumare. Efectiv nu am reusit sa gasesc o modalitate.
