This problem was fixed and will come with the next update.
If you want I can provide you the fix, you need to go in:
wp-content\themes\Newspaper\includes\wp_booster\td_smart_list.php
go to the line 536 and replace the if condition with this one
if (!empty($matches) && $this->token_td_smart_list_end === false) {

Unfortunately, the theme has not been designed to use Google UTM, we do not have made any tests in this case and also, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with our theme, sorry! Please check our Cloud Template Library because from there you can import some homepage examples which has that overlay.
