Hello Tomka,
Please notice that you can sort your posts using blocks and you can filter them as you wish from the Block Filter, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/RtUvbLRSXW For more information about block settings ,please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
If you refer to something else, please provide more details about what you want to achieve so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thanks for your understanding!
I’m using a calendar plugin which creates a custom post type. The sidebar doesn’t show up on these custom posts, so I checked settings for the plugin and found the following:
Specify comma separated meta field names used by the theme to store layout information per post. This is used if for example the theme allows to configure a sidebar per page, but it is not showing in the event page although it has been configured on the template.
Where can I find a field name for the sidebar?
Hello gilean,
Please notice that you can use the same way for adding the ads to your post pages but you will have to add the code using the do_shortcode method where you want in your articles.
For example, if you want to display some ads in your article, first of all, you will have to create the code from the Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/jPe8zXDY and then you have to add the following code in the corresponding file with the post template used by you. As an instance, if you are using the post template style 1 you will have to add the code in loop-single-1.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/sQATPmLwlhD and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/s6nnSsQ5
-> <?php echo do_shortcode('[td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_1" spot_title="CUSTOM AD"]');?>

Hello josflachs,
The default behaviour for this type of feature should work like this -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ I have checked your website and I saw that you are suing an older version of our theme. Please try to update the theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.1.1) and also, the latest version of required plugins (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) Please try to update theme only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, to avoid the conflicting plugins which might appear in the theme, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. For more information about theme updating, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no option for this as the latest articles is not a block but uses a loop. THt means it uses modules directly, not being contained in a block. You can only select a different module for it, but if you have a sidebar set, there is no module that can display on 3 columns, sorry!
In order to have 3 columns, the latest articles needs the full with of the the content area.
Thanks.
Hello stunderavlycka,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for it, sorry! Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you want to develop this author block you will have to alter the code from the core file in order to achieve as you wish. So, if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The first part is the tab elements.
You need to add grids or blocks to the tab sections in visual composer and make sure you set the block elements to a category that has posts to display. if the block is filtered to show a category that does not contain any posts, the block will not show up as it will have nothing to display.
As for the footer, you can set it up to your liking from the theme panel -> footer section
Thank you!
@Bogdan B., I know that without sidebar, modules will show 3 column. But I want module to show 3 column with sidebar just like block 15 or 16 as example.
Hello SergioAyres,
Unfortunately, our Instagram block has not been designed to bring the Hashtag in our theme, sorry! Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you want to develop this feature, you will have to alter the code from the core file named td_block_instagram.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/JXtXNCxVmz4 and that changes involves custom work. So, if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The post views were not designed to work on modules and blocks, but you can follow this topic to see how you can edit the theme files and code the views in:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/view-numbers-in-block/
Thank you!
I just added a new block in my theme. Strangely enough only the title shows up. Not the articles in it. You can see it here: http://ollekebolleke.info/ It’s the block called “Olleke Bolleke’s Passie”.
I have no idea why. It’s at the moment Newspaper 6, I have to update to 7. Could that be the reason?
Settings:
Block: Block 1
Custom Title: Olleke Bolleke’s Passie
Filter: All categories
Multiple categories filter: category numbers (separated by commas without spaces)
Ajax filter: filter by categories
Ajax dropdown: category numbers (separated by commas without spaces)
Hello,
The latest articles element uses modules, not blocks so they cannot be edited from block settings. The settings for the latest posts can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/2NlsvUe7
Modules will only show up on 3 columns if there is no sidebar. Remove the sidebar and try different modules from the settings.
Thank you!
Hello!
When I set the settings as shown, nothing happens: http://postimg.org/image/5j3bxemyz/

Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for creating this theme. It’s amazing!
I would like som help with the visual composer element td_block_authors (found in includes/shortcodes)
I want it to show the description and social icons the same way as it shows on single posts, with description and social icons.
Can anyone help me with the code needed to tweak the author box?
Hi there love the theme and enjoying working with it.
Can you assist:
I need to reduce the white space between elements and cant find the css to do it ?
Also the size of the text heading on the block as shown.

Bo
Can i add content from a Hashtag on Instagram block?
see no option about this
I want to show post in three column like block 15 or 16 style in latest article area in pagebuilder + latest article + pagination template .
In default, post are showing in two column in latest article , but I want to show in 3 column using block 15 or 16.
How to do it ?
So, I have set up a page with template “Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination”. It gets its content from a custom post type. The first page looks OK: it fills with the latest 10 posts. Also, the pagination looks good: it fills with the right number of pages.
But, when I click on ‘2’ (so the second row of 10 posts) I get a “404 Not Found error”.
BTW, on ‘Blocks’ (with AJAX pagination) it works flawlessly, but I want to have it working on the ‘latest articles’ template.
Hi,
Installed the what say demo for my site but I see there is a gap between the main menu and the big grid block.
Please let me know how to fix it?
Thanks!
Love the new mobile theme in v7. The mobile front page appears to default to show three posts in a block and then show Related stories. Related stories changes pick up from the main post template, but is there a way to alter the number of posts that show up in the top block? I’d like 10-15 rather than three. Willing to jump into the code but couldn’t find where that parameter is set. Thanks!
I just installed the Newspaper 7 theme and the News Magazine demo. When I go to the page editor, Visual Composer is not appearing — just the stock WordPress composer box filled with the Visual Composer codes. Looks like this: https://snag.gy/e8C5w9.jpg I have disabled all plug-ins, except the plugins that come with the theme (Slider Revolution, Mobile Theme, Social Counter, Visual Composer). I have enabled WP_Debug, and it logged the following errors:

How can I get Visual Composer to display correctly?
Hello Paul Walter,
Please notice that this is the theme behaviour when it used this type of post template. Please notice that if you want to change the structure of this block you will have to do it only through additional customization and this involve custom work. Also, if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
As a hint, you can use the following code and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.td_block_20 .td_module_14 .td-module-meta-info {
bottom: -100px;
}
.td_block_20 .td_module_14 .td-excerpt {
padding-top:100px;
}
The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/5nCpiyRYcT
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Suddenly, I can’t edit any text blocks (or other block) using the back-office front end of visual commposer.
I can only put the blocks inside the columns, clicking on the pencil icon is without effect.
– I updated the latest version of Newsmag theme + Visual composer.
– I desactivated all the plugins.
– I cleared the cache of my browsner (Firefox) and tried also with Chrome.
No result.
What happens ?
Thanks for help,
Hi,
I would like to hear your advice.
Currently I use Block20 for the featured post on my website. Unfortunately this block looks only good if I have no sidebar. If I put that block together with a sidebar, too much of the featured image is covered by the white text background (I don’t want to reduce the length of my headlines).
I would like to keep a large block with headline below image and excerpt text. Preferable were the headline and text background only covers a little of the image or not at all (completely below image). None of the existing blocks meet these requirements.
What would be the best way to achieve this? I know you don’t have the time to do customization here but perhaps you can hint me in the correct directions.
Any easy/quick css to change the look (shifting headline and excerpt down or so)?
Are there anywhere additional blocks for download (for sale?)?
Is there an easy way to edit the blocks? (block editor?)
Do you recommend to hire a customizer (eg from fiveer)?
What would the customizer need to do? Child theme? Creating new block or changing existing block?
Kind regards
Paul
