radu i check the metadata of several posts on wp_postmeta table of my SQL base on phpmyadmin.
The post_views_count_7_day_array doesn’t “reset it” every day, yesterday, two days ago and today the value data is the same for articles oldest one week.
eg: (a:7:{i:0;i:1167;i:1;i:1000;i:2;i:542;i:3;i:309;i:4;i:239;i:5;i:168;i:6;i:195;})
so, the popular 7 days functions doesn’t word correctly, can you check it?
Does that work for ‘Popular Posts’ as well? Because i don’t want the views to appear by the posts, but i want the box (on the homepage) to display what the popular posts are on the site, if you get me?
Thanks 🙂
hi,
seems like the 7 days count is not working with a cache plugin
here is link to a thread about cache and counter
https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-postviews-post-view-counter-alternative-for-w3-total-cache/
Thanks for you message.
Radu A.
I found a similar post to this in the forum, but can’t find it again (even using the search bar as well), sorry for posting it again.
Is there a cache plugin that works with 7 day post sorting? As i’d like to keep the ‘Most Popular’ section but make the site run faster and use less resources.
I’m looking at ‘W3 total cache’ but it seems like people have the same problem with this in the situation i want to use it in.
Thanks again.
Hi,
Is from a plugin , definitely.
This plugins was not tested by us, try to deactivate a while and see if works.

Hi,
The function is here: http://screencast.com/t/3n4Ri87RtfNm
Also you can take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-postviews-post-view-counter-alternative-for-w3-total-cache/
Thanks!
I think with the tagDiv speed booster, gzip/deflate on your server (which *should* be running properly if talking about speed), and mod_pagespeed, that might be one thing too many, in my humble opinion.
I don’t know anybody using it. Most “pro” developers simply mod their SASS/LESS code for what they need and the super cool geeks use COMPASS.
With WordPress you have a number of inter-dependent things, so likely more of a “does it work well with WordPress” before “does it work with the theme.”
There is some discussion in the WP core about the subject of autoprefir and prefix-free
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/27078
However it may be that what you think it will do for you, isn’t what it actually does. It does “reduce the size” of CSS3 code, but was built in 2011 when it was a slower world, prior to HTML5, mod_pagespeed, and many of the efforts to write simpler code — again, take a look at SASS/LESS formats, along with minification.
While it was a good tool for a super high traffic site, to basically build in “shortcoding” of the elements, in the real world with average blog it won’t REALLY do that much for you — I doubt you would increase a pagespeed score by even a point.
If you’ve already minified all your CSS/JS, have caching, expires heading, using CDN for common elements, smushing and compression all your images, using cache for pages, and not injecting a ton of external content in your pages … and you still need to get one point someplace, it might be worth trying. But, why? Not really going to do much, if you’ve already done everything else. My 3 cents, anyway (2 cents adjusted for inflation). 😉
Unfortunately, I have to tell you that I faced the same problem again after two days without facing any error.

Sorry, I forgot to clear cache, it work fine after copyright but still add 1 line if add after right-bottom menu (maybe size of icon ?) http://imgur.com/T5w9UU4.jpg.
marius hi. can you tell me in wich .php file of the theme, make and call the function for 7 post_views_count_7_day_total.
the function doesn’t show correct articles, and i want to change it
And yes, i didn’t not use cache plugin or something else
hi,
the 7 day counter works but not with cache plugin, either use the ajax plugin or disable the cache.
for post in the sidebar there is no filter by post id, but I think is posibly if you change the code of the theme.
Thanks for you message.

Hi,
Does the workaround to fix the post views when using a cache plugin work with the 7 days post sort in the sidebar? I know this fix will show correct views on the top of a post page, but will it also fix the 7 days post sort order in the blocks?
And are you guys planning on integrating the ajax view count in the theme? I don’t like to install so many different plugins to fix the bugs that come with this theme… I mentioned this problem months ago and you guys said that you would fix in in one of the future updates. We’re at least 4 updates further, but the only solution you provide is using another couple of plugins to make it work, instead of fixing it wihtin in theme.
Also, I use block 2 in the sidebar to highlight some post (just like the theme’s live preview) and want to manually select the posts i want to display there. It it possible to filter the post according to post id? I was highlighting the most viewed posts with the 7 days post count but since that doesnt work i now show the most recent posts there…
Purpose of caching is to serve the PAGES very quickly. As per the note in the docs, you should use “page cache ONLY” to avoid issues with things getting cached you don’t want to be static for a long long time. Others will likely provide more detailed answer, but the simplest one for using W3 is here in the docs:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/w3-total-cache-configuration/
You can, of course, “experiment” with caching with any theme/site – it’s your site. But, you don’t want database cached or updates wouldn’t be loaded on indexes or front page.
But best to err on side of paranoia. Also be sure to do full site backup before enabling any cache plugin. And make sure the plugin is running at same user permission level as the ftpuser vs the server/apache as that was a big implosion of doom on one of our sites!
That may not have been perfect answer.
hi,
try using the Unique Articles feature : http://screencast.com/t/1RB86pOM, for duplication.
the author meta problem should be resolved by now, what version are you using? , you can also try to disable all SEO and cache plugins (also delete the cache), just for a test.
Thanks for you message.
Radu A.
Hi,
I can’t see the counter on your page, you have disabled?
Hi,
The theme have the default counter and also support that plugin WP-PostViews that works with cache plugin.
If you have installed that plugin the theme will read the count from that plugin.
If you edit a post you will have 2 custom fields that keep the views(1 is the default one and another one is from that plugin WP-PostViews)
http://screencast.com/t/NFWjdEqkKM
You can easily check you counter, go to a post, make refresh and see if the counter work, should update on each refresh.
FYI, when you download the theme files, there is clearly a file called “update_log.txt” … you can download the update zip file without having to install it on your website.
Good idea to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the files you’re downloading, as to what is in each folder and the supporting documents. Just a thought, no insult intended.

– added 4 predefined style: SPORT, CAFE, FASHION, TECH – screenshot
– added option to uppercase the font for the Header Menu – screenshot
– added Alphabetical A -> Z sorting option
– added option to change the typography of the default Blockquote in Theme panel – screenshot
– added COLOR option for default Blockquote – screenshot
– added old sharing back – screenshot
– fixed Ad overlapping on Header Style 4
– fixed translation for Home breadcrumb
– fixed issue with video thumb downloader (sometimes it did not download the thumb)
– better megamenu handling on touch devices
– added comments on pages ( with option in theme panel – default it’s disabled )
– post views counter alternative for W3 Total Cache (with WP-PostViewer and Ajax_the_view plugins) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-postviews-post-view-counter-alternative-for-w3-total-cache/
Figured it out. The cache was not clearing the new header info! Manually went in and cleared the caches. Now the header info and the ad tags match.
Thank you for the support.
+ views work just great in SHOW SIMILAR ARTICLE block, but on same page in sidebar – not at all. May be, this is something wrong with the block 7?
Look here – http://art-post.me/118 – all posts in sidebar have the same number of views as the main article. But similar articles’ views work fine.
I tried different cache plugins, and no cache plugins at all – the result is the same. Since the problem is unfixable, can you please show me where to comment with // views in block 7 – I am using it for homepage, and in sidebar for featured posts (although it is the same block, may be I need to comment it twice, since it is in two different places?)
it’s http://art-post.me – the views on homepage is the same, but when you click on any post, the counters display what they are supposed to (with cache plugin or without any). If you could help, that would be great.
Hi,
Do you use a cache plugin?, because this will interfere with the views.
We have here a solution that work with cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/wp-postviews-post-view-counter-alternative-for-w3-total-cache/
Thanks!
hi,
well, you have the option not to use cache at all, but you need a better hosting account, maybe a VPS, or you can try with different cache plugin.
be aware that conflicts may appear between the theme and the plugin.
Thanks for you message.
