Hi Catalin,
I forgot to put in my post last night that I disabled all the plugins except those related to the theme and I cleared the cache as well. We are not on a CDN. The problem continued.

Hi,

For me it looks good in Chrome as well – http://prntscr.com/mhuzsv
Just like in Firefox – http://prntscr.com/mhv0hh

Maybe try in a different computer as well, or clear the browser cache and remove extensions.

Thanks

Alright, Disabled all the plugins which were not related to the theme and fixed the issue. I should have known that it’s because of the super cache plugin which does exactly what the name says.
Thanks again Calin.

Hi,

Please make sure that you set well the background and you clear all cache, after that please check in incognito mode, also is possible to be a plugin conflict, so if the problem is still there please deactivate all non theme plugins, clear all cache and try again.

If there is still a problem please provide me a link were I can inspect this problem, also some screenshots with the settings will be very helpful.

Thank you!

Make a cloud template if you don’t have one yet.
Click edit template
Click the bottom right button on the left side editor.
When doing so it should open an auto load menu thingy, click to enable it.
Go to theme panel – post settings and set the site wide post template to the cloud template with auto load you just configured (or you can set it manually to different posts in the post editor).
Clear cache.

*Note* When I enabled it just now, with only 20 users on my site, the server usage skyrocketed and the site became laggy af. It also broke my ad placements, the auto load doesn’t sometimes load (just shows the loading animation, and when it bugs out like that, I couldn’t click any links or buttons on the site), and in my case, when it loaded the next post, the post title (in the browser) changed to “Undefined”.

I’ll be making a ticket about these things, hopefully they can resolve it soon cause I’m pumped for the auto load feature.

Hi,

Did you check the documentation for yoast redirects -> https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/redirects-manager/ also please check all settings .

I think that the better thing will be to make a full backup to your website and database,
and make a copy of your site and tray on localhost to deactivate all non theme plugins clear all cache and make some publish to see if the problem is still there.

Thank you for your understanding!

Yes, plugin is important to be updated. I always change to twenty eleven theme > delete newspaper theme > deactivate & delete all tagdiv plugin > upload new version of newspaper theme & install > upload & install the tagdiv plugin > clear all cache and done.

That my method if I update newspaper theme on my website and don’t see any error after I update with that method.

Hope this help

Site: VeteransToday.com
Newspaper Version: 9.2.2
PHP: 7.1 (ea-php71)
CDN: CloudFlare.com
Cache Plugin: WP-Rocket

I ran GTMetrix report for my site
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.veteranstoday.com/orr3ZYqj

Site is loading at 5 seconds (71 requests).
Should be around 2.5 seconds.
The big issue for site speed seems to be home page is loading full size images and NOT scaled images to fit.

EXAMPLE: https://www.veteranstoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/SPV_Germany-FM.jpeg is resized in HTML or CSS from 1600×1045 to 218×142. Serving a scaled image could save 51.2KiB (98% reduction).

We have same problem on article pages too.

Do I have some theme/server/css setting off?
Or is this a known theme bug?
Please advise asap

I am not seeing any settings related to this on AdSense. Would this issue possibly be due to something moving the Auto Ads header script code to the bottom of the page? I thought tagDiv Speed Booster and/or WP Super Cache might be the culprits, but when I deactivated both of these plugins, the issue did not go away.

Hi,

Did you check the configuration for cloudflare ?
Also please note that only tagdiv composer and tagdiv social counter are theme plugins, the akismet, yoast, super cache are not theme plugins, make a test deactivate them and see if the cpu is the same, also please not that WordPress and Newspaper theme need some cpu resource, also all plugins that you have need cpu and memory resource.

Hi,

I saw that you have minified all of your code and maybe, that’s why appears these issues. Try to make a new install to another sub-domain for testing, clear all the caches and check if these will reappear.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

Hi,

Normally, you should not need to add this custom CSS code, sorry! The theme should fit over your content, sorry! I do not what kind of untested plugins you are using on the website which might break the theme’s functionality, sorry! Try to disable all of these, clear all the caches and check the results. As a test, you can make a new clean install to another subdomain for testing, use only the plugins which come bundled with the theme core files without your custom CSS code and check the results.

Thanks for the message!
