I added both files: header-menu.php and header-style-1.php. Didn’t change anything. Actually, even a custom page template does not work. It simply does not show up in the page editor. See my other posts:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/update-to-10-page-templates-not-working-anymore/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/update-to-10-child-theme-not-working/
I have alreday contacted the support via email and provided all credentials.

Hello !

You have to insert into the child theme the header style you’re using too: https://prnt.sc/qr9673

I hope this was more helpful !

Thank you !

Website: https://sportsblogit.com
Issue: Mobile version of website is fugly

I first set up my website by importing the setting and all demo content for the “world new” child theme. I then changed some posts and added the revolution slider. However, on my website sportsblogit.com the mobile theme does not match the desktop theme. When I view the theme on mobile I only see “latest” articles, the header, and footer. There is no other content on the page. I imported all your demo content/settings and it was like this.

But when I view the child theme “world news” on your website the mobile template looks great. You have a slider, “must-read”, “latest” and social sharing. I would like this same design on my website and I don’t know what settings I must change.

Hey Calin,
strange! Your screenshots look fantastic, I really can’t understand it. Where in the theme the setup for the modules is saved? I am using the original Newspaper Child Theme files from themeforest download. But now I have one simple question: I thougt the archive template is set for the “Home” as well – am I wrong with that? Where kann I change preferences for the home?

Can I somehow change the PHP code of the templates using the Composer? Our modified files in the child theme don’t work anymore since the 10 update. I don’t need a fancy frontend-editor. Instead, I need to change the PHP files. Right now I had to change the some files in both the TD Composer and the Standard Pack. This is, of course, far from perfect. The cloud library might be an excellent choice for many users. However, it’s a bad idea to literally remove the most import function of a child theme.

I have the same problems. For test purposes I tried /child-theme/parts/header/header-menu.php, but the file does not override the standard file. How come? What am I missing?

Hi,

I just tested the child theme with settings for the archive pages (for example to M16) -> https://i.imgur.com/7MIAPqd.png -> https://i.imgur.com/cICsZb6.png -> https://i.imgur.com/RsbxeV6.png

Please provide some screenshots with the settings you’ve made for the child theme, also make sure that you are using only the child that coming with the theme version.

Thank you!

Same here. Please let us know how to create and use the good old template files. I don’t need a composer, and I don’t need the cloud library. I just want to put a php file in my child theme folder and done! Version 9 worked like a charm. In version 10 none of my templates are working anymore. Yes, I updated the code. But the templates only work if put in the parent theme folder. Which is not what I want, of course.

Sorry, it was an update from 8 to 9. Bad enough. But then I updated to 10. This was even worse. You don’t have to answer this post Please, see my other posts here and here.

Hi,
I’ve recently updated a site from version 8 to 10. It was a mess of epic dimensions. Took me more than 10 hours to migrate the modified templates, and still they are not working in the child theme (see this post here).

Now I’ve found out that my page templates are not working anymore in the child theme. For test purposes, I copied the default page template and changed to a new test template:

/* Template Name: Test Template */

I tried:

/child-theme-folder/test.php > not working
/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/test.php > not working
/plugins/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/test.php > not working
/theme-folder/test.php > working

What now? I have to use my page template in the original theme folder? Seriously?

Thanks, Mike

Hi,

I’ve updated a site from 8 to 9 and then to 10. Besides, it was a nightmare. The worst update I have made (in the WordPress world) in more than 10 years. Took me more than 10 hours to migrate the modified templates to the new system. Not funny, really not funny.

For now, I would prefer to use the child theme, since migrating to the cloud library would be even more time-consuming. Unfortunately, nothing works (according to your tutorial).

I use the following modified template files:

TD-STANDARD-PACK plugin
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/parts/header/header-menu.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/parts/header/header-style-1.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/parts/page-author-box.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/includes/modules/td_module_4.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/loop.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/single-loop.php
/td-standard-pack/Newspaper/header.php

TD-COMPOSER plugin
/legacy/common/wp_booster/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php
/legacy/Newspaper/includes/modules/td_module_slide.php

Why are two files not available in the standard pack?

These files are not working in my child theme. I tried:

/child-theme-folder/single-loop.php
/child-theme-folder/header.php
/child-theme-folder/header/header-menu.php
/child-theme-folder/header/header-style-1.php
/child-theme-folder/parts/page-author-box.php
/child-theme-folder/includes/modules/td_module_4.php
/child-theme-folder/includes/modules/td_module_slide.php
/child-theme-folder/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php

It simply uses the files in the plugin folders.

What am I missing?

Thanks, Mike

Hi everyone,
I have 2 problems:
1. no scroll of mega menu in sticky version. I tried to insert this CSS in theme panel:

.tdb_header_mega_menu .block-mega-child-cats {
max-height: 335px;
overflow: auto;
}

but still not working. I tried to change the height (200) but still not scroll.

2. When a page is preloading, in the first few seconds my logo text font in the header appears like times new roman but I choose Poppins font. I insert poppins font in tag divi composer and also Theme panel> theme font>header>text logo. Still not working. This problem not happens with tagline!

Any suggestions?
Thanks you all.

Hi,

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
Also please notice that the theme support do not include any custom work -> https://i.imgur.com/4hGuO0J.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/
Also if you are using the mobile theme plugin, you’ll need to set the page content in mobile editor -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Thank you for your understanding!
