For that I will suggest you use a CDN, Cloudfare is free and easy to setup. Reduces bandwidth cost as well increase speed of your site.

Basic follow up recommendations are already provided by the developers. I will give you some additional tips (considering you are using the mobile theme plugin already):

1. Optimize images
>Reduce the size of files just before uploading. Use this software- Caesium, and set quality to 80 (i set 60-80 depending on existing size). Resize image to 1280 maximum, unless you really need to show images with high quality.
>Use Wp Smush and regenerate thumbnail plugin.

2. Use a CDN– Cloudfare is free. Its easy to set up too.

3. Https support– trust me, its really good. You can always google https vs http to find why https is good. You can get a FREE SSL certificate from Cloudfare indeed and implement it on your website.

4. Remove query strings– so far, i use Remove Query Strings From Static Resources plugin to fix it. Query strings are actually calling server for something specific.

5. Use WP Super cache (supported by theme) and Cloudfare and yes, GTMetrix plugin. These 3 will make your website god of speed.

6. Heartbeat control– its pretty much for reducing load on your server, not recommended if you can’t implement it properly.

7. Wp Optimize– cleans out waste garbage in your database.

Hope this helps. I personally tested them all out. So far, i just couldn’t figure out a way to fix those etags.

Bogdan, thank you for advice, but…
Looks like my first post wasn’t clear enough 🙂

I’m talking about list filtering (not block).
Let me to explain.

Look at Lifestyle Category page:
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/tagdiv-lifestyle/

We see the sub-Categories: Business, Health & Fitness, Recipes, Travel.

I want to show in addition list (or cloud) of tags. And only tags, that are present in posts of Lifestyle Category, and sub-Categories.
When we drill-down into sub-cat, tags list must be filtered relatively.

This approach applies not only tags, but other taxonomy too.

Hello silviarehn,

Please notice that only the WP Super Cache is a tested plugin which should work as expected with the theme. Before customizing your server, you should consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ regarding on CDN, CloudFlare. Also, for more information about caching plugin configuration, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Thanks for the message!

You get all this because I transfer the test site to a cloud solution.

the live site is themasports.com

Hi,

It seems to load very poorly indeed. The caching plugin is recommend to be used with these settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
And this Cloudflare configuration
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
If you say the server configuration is more than enough
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Then there should be no problems of this kind. Something is causing this slow loading speed. We have not had any bad reports about this, it must be something on your configuration.

Thanks

Hello dabadaba,

Please keep in mind that here is talking about two different things. On the website, tags means this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/OlB2OcUPLdue and the category tags means this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5wttwxE3c0w If you want to display your Tags on your homepage, you should use WP Tag Cloud element from Visual Composer, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xKbnrQhWu

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Probably need to check the Cloudflare support, as that is not theme related.

I am working on setting up my site https://theindianinvestors.com/ and makes multiple changes daily. Lately, I have been seeing that changes made on site using wordpress admin are not visible when I “Preview Change” or even try testing opening a new tab on chrome.

Think this might be related to cache or something similar and the question is how do I turn it off so that changes made are visible immediately. I did setup the cloudflare CDN and even changing it to “development” mode makes no difference.

Can someone please share a solution ?

Thanks

Weird, I’m not seeing that issue in my browser with Chrome

Version 58.0.3029.96 (64-bit)

I am getting some errors, but common with YouTube:

I “suspect” it’s from the code injected by Facebook or Soundcloud which are loading in your sidebar.

I have added a widget to show popular posts in last 7 days and its not showing any post. I have already enabled 7 days posts sorting in Block Settings and Ajax View counter in Post settings in Theme Panel.

I am using WP Super Cache and Cloudflare with your recommended settings.

Thanks

That does help a lot, Bogdan, and please accept my sincerest apologies, I was referencing the wrong image on my cloud ;-( Hopefully this will make sense now, what I am trying to do is to go from this, which is how the page currently looks on mobile:

http://media.altimac.com.s3.amazonaws.com/images/obits-mobile-A.png

to this:

http://media.altimac.com.s3.amazonaws.com/images/obits-mobile-B.png

so that we can see more than the top of the deceased’s head. It looks like you have given me some clues, though, that I could try either

@media
(max-width:767px) {
.category-obituaries .td_module_mob_2 .td-module-thumb {
height: 116px;
}}

Or I could use the API as you noted and do something like

td_api_thumb::update(‘td_???????’,
array(
‘name’ => ‘td_????????’,
‘width’ => 100,
‘height’ => 75,
‘crop’ => array(‘center’, ‘middle’),? ‘none’?
‘post_format_icon_size’ => ‘small’,
‘used_on’ => array(
‘Module 6, 7’, ‘Block 1, 2, 7, 8’
)
)
);

where “td_???????” are the thumbnails that are used in the mobile posts loop page for both the “grid” of the first three listings and then the list of the remainder. I am thinking they are td_324x160 for the grid and td_80x60 for the list of posts following but that is my best guess based on how they look on the mobile theme.

Hello,

Please only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and for cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also please contact your host and have them disable any hosting side cache.

Thank you!

Yes, unless you use the normal OEMBED method for Soundcloud you can use the Soundcloud embed code found on their website.

You might find the actual official WordPress docs “codex” helpful in learning to use WP:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

————–
Usage
To embed a video or another object into a post or page, place its URL into the content area. Make sure the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post).

For example:

Check out this cool video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

That was a cool video.`

WordPress will automatically turn the URL into a YouTube embed and provide a live preview in the visual editor.

Another option is to wrap the URL in the [embed] Shortcode.

[embed width="123" height="456"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ[/embed]
If WordPress fails to embed the URL, the post will contain a hyperlink to the URL.

Sorry about that. I got it working. For those also wanting to do this, use this code and replace the link as needed.

<iframe width=”100%” height=”166″ scrolling=”no” frameborder=”no” src=”https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/318011283&color=8800ff&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_artwork=true&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=true”></iframe&gt;

Hello,

I am trying to embed a SoundCloud into my page and it is not working. When I post the short code, the html is visible on the page.

Here is the shortcode made for WordPress

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/318011283&#8243; params=”color=8800ff&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Also note you can’t have tag, category, page with same ‘name’ when using pretty permalinks

This is most common error.

Note this page ‘is’ working, http://francuskie.pl/tag/citroen/

however, you need to update theme or remove the login/pass code due to the mixed content message (http / https login message error in Chrome)

And, the error most likely caused by your Cloudflare setting, where the page style sheet not loading fully and menu breaking.

(( I don’t work here ))

Hey there,

The option you mentioned is not disabled. So no reason for it not to work.

I’m wondering if the cause could possibly is because we ported the entire site from one server to the next. Because the one on the old site is still working fine.

The new server which we’ve ported the site to is AWS (Amazon Web Service). It has a security feature such as AWS Shield and CloudFront. The site is currently undergoing a PEN TEST (Penetration Test) so we cannot allow you to access the site for the time being. We can only do so until after they complete it next Monday (Singapore time).

However do note that this is not the first time we have done a site (using Visual Composer) from an external server and port it over to AWS. There was no problem then. This is the first time we’re facing this problem. So I don’t think it’s because of AWS but I might be wrong. Thus I seek your assistance on this and advise what are the possible issues that can cause this problem for us to make it work.

The AWS is also having some problem in itself and we’re also checking with them at the same time as we’re checking with you.

For your better understanding, please find below the time of events when the Visual Composer start to fail when we port over to the AWS server (attachment).

Hi, I am delighted with your theme. It’s functional, beautiful and easy to use. Probably the best theme I have ever used.

I have one small problem. I hope it’s solvable. It is the lack of buttons for sharing content. There are only four networks. It’s strange that it is not included, for example, StumbleUpon, which is a better source of traffic for the articles even from Facebook. Not to mention Reddit, Tumblr, SoundCloud and others, which are each very useful, depending on the niche. This is a huge handicap for any serious business. It shouldn’t be hard to let users decide what networks they will put as options for sharing.

I hope that this is solvable and that I don’t need to install additional plugins. Please explain to me how, because I didn’t find that information in theme’s documentation.

Thanks in advance and keep up excellent work! 🙂

Disregard, was able to get the plugin working correctly. In our case, the CloudFlare caching had to be completely purged as well. All good now!

Hi simlon,

here i attached the website link please check it.

http://wordpress-16980-81889-233691.cloudwaysapps.com/

Actually we increased the div style (td-module-thumb) i know thats why its coming like this but the thing is we need to make it little bit stretched sizes for fitting the big screens.

Regards,
Muhsin
