It could be a plugin conflict, try deactivating all plugins except theme plugins. Reinstall the tagDiv composer and multi-purpose plugin from the theme package you are using. Let us know the results.

In core the themes are similar but there are details in each theme that are specific only for one or the other. These details are what makes them different.

The design possibilities with the Newspaper theme are many, there are also many pre-made demos available for install

Sorry for the inconvenience but it seems the blocks lost their color picker in the new version of the theme. We changed the color picker implementation and it seems it is no longer compatible with the visual composer plugin
As the theme gets updated, more and more features will be added to our own page builder and it seems there will be incompatibility issues with VC. We recommend using the tagdiv composer plugin.
We will no longer provide any new future options for VC so it is in a way ‘deprecated’ in our theme

Please make sure you install the latest version of the theme (8.7.2) and also update your tagdiv composer plugin by disabling and deleting the current one you have installed and then installing it again from the main theme package you download from envato.

The theme does not have such effects that would apply to images. There are some image elements in tagDiv composer but they do not have such effects

You are getting the errors because you already used the composer and it’s elements on the page. You will also have to re-create the page in order to get rid of the errors. If you add a td composer element especially multi-purpose elements and then disable the plugin, an error will show up.

Similar issues with blank pages have been caused by updating the theme and not the plugins (especially the tagDiv composer) If that is the case please deactivate and remove the theme plugins and reinstall them from the latest theme package.

1. There doesn’t seem to be a border radius set for that image you mention, I have tried setting a radius using the same element

Everything seems to work as expected, the border radius is applied. Edit the page with the composer and double check if the radius value is entered in the field.

2. There was an issue with the icons not displaying in the front-end, the theme package was quickly re-uploaded and the problem fixed. So you could re-download the theme package now and install it. The icons will be displayed as before.
