Hi,
Why you do not update visual composer plugin? So we can avoid this error
Hi Alin
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, before i upgrade, i had deactivated the VC and then delete the plug-in and then install the plugig from the plug-in folder which i downloaded from themeforest… that was exactly following the guide step by step.
i just downgraded the Visual Composer from 4.4.2 to 4.3.5 and it works fine in Newsmag ver 1.5 now, please check if the new version didn’t compatible with Newsmag version 1.5, thank you so much.
Hi,
Please make sure that you remove the VC plugin then use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and install the plugin from the /plugins folder that was provided within your theme files.
Thanks!
When I open visual Composer this is showing for sidebar
[td_ad_box spot_id=”sidebar”][td_block_6 limit="2" custom_title="POPULAR VIDEO" td_filter_default_txt="All" header_color="#ed581c"][td_block_8 limit="3" custom_title="HOLIDAY RECIPES" header_color="#0152a9" td_filter_default_txt="All"]
So i guess VC has some issue with sidebar
Hi,
Please use this installation guide and use the FTP method to upload theme files: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ To add plugins please use this guide and do the same for each plugin, upload and install it from the /plugins folder that was provided together with the theme files: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Thanks!

Appearance for your feedback about

Hi,
We have changed the shortcode for slider from td_slide -> td_block_slide. Sorry for inconvenience!
So after you update the theme you have to re add the slider using Visual Composer plugin or you can change to the Classic mode and replace the shortcode manually for the slide you already have: http://screencast.com/t/kHCvHz1nWTPl
Also to rename all the shortcodes from versions older than 1.5: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-newsmag-to-1-5/
An alternate solution is to rename the shortcodes manually like shortcode for slider.
Thanks!

pls help. thanks.
Hi,
I have checked your site but couldn’t noticed the issue you describe, all fonts’ I’ve checked are rendered as they should. Could you please provide more details about this and also make sure that you check this without any plugins active, just the Visual Composer and also empty cache if you use any cache plugins.
Please also let me know on which web browser you’ve experienced this behavior.
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks Chris!
@WriterChicky Have you managed to solve this as I have checked your site and seems that the view counter works now, both on your homepage and posts too. Please note though that I have tested this by downloading the page every time to avoid cache because as Christopher noted above the post counter doesn’t work with cache.
The ajax post view option was added from version 4.2 of the theme: http://screencast.com/t/h7anh3o2 so if you are not using a theme version newer than 4.2 and want to use the counter and cache also I suggest you update your theme to the latest version then activate the option from theme panel > post settings: http://screencast.com/t/dEasrZOoB then check again.
Use this guide to update the theme and the FTP method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Use this guide to update the VC plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Thanks
Hi,
We aren’t aware of this and I also don’t believe that we are facing a bug hare because as you can also find if you check our demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ the theme looks good on IE7 to 11 browsers.
I also noticed this server error when checking your site on Firefox browser(latest version) so this might also be due to your server. I suggest you also contact your host provider and let them now about this: http://screencast.com/t/0YCFnK627
I suggest you also try to check this without any plugins active, lave just Visual Composer plugin active and also make sure you empty cache and/or purge files if you use CDN host services.
Try this and let me know how it goes!
Thanks

i have ttried also withoiut using childtheme and it wont update the visual composer … i have tried so many ways but right now to be able to stay online i cna not use visual composer:////////
so the question is : how to update the visual composer when using childtheme?
well ok, i have raplaced all the files with the updated version, before that i have removed js_composer plugin. after the update i have tried to update actually install the updated version of visual composer. it will let me install it but when i activate the plugin the entire web crashes…
its going to the loop, i figure out what the issue us. But?? i am sugin childtheme new update reguires install js_composer plugin.. but it wont let me do it as it can not be installed from the admin sayi.. /home/domeny/electropiknik.cz/web/subdomeny/www/wp-content/themes/newsmag-child/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip it can not locate the plugin from there.. so switched back to nesmag theme and it will install it but then the entire web crashes…
The license for Newsmag has nothing to do with Visual Composer.
The visual composer does NOT need a license key.
The license key from Themeforest for the Newsmag theme is ONLY to authorize the THEME if/when it asks you to do that.
As clearly noted in the theme docs, you cannot update the bundled version of the plugin yourself. You don’t have a license for Visual Composer. You have a license for the THEME, which includes a ‘bundled’ version of Visual Composer TIED TO THE THEME. The bundled version is ONLY updated when tested compatible with the CUSTOM modules and functions of the theme. So, the bundled version of the VC plugin is updated when the theme is updated, NOT separately.
As noted in the theme docs (links right side of this page), you can simply ignore any message in the WP admin panel about “update available” for Visual Composer. You cannot update it separately from the theme … PERIOD.
Hope that helps clarify!
Looks like they changed some shortcodes, probably for compatibility with Visual Composer, etc. So, if you were using those shortcodes throughout a site in posts or something that would be the code to rename the shortcodes.
I personally never use shortcodes in posts/pages from a theme, since I’m then locked into that theme forever. Nope. Not going to do it. 🙂
Shortcodes are good for pages, and sidebars, and such, but I’d never recommend using them in posts, personally.
I don’t know what slider you are using but if you use the one from Visual Composer you won’t have a problem. Look at my website. http://www.toppcnews.com
I am having a similar issue as enoxus. I have my licence key from my my NewsMag purchase, but when I enter this on the update plug in page for WPBakery Visual Composer, I am told that it is not valid. Is there any advice you could give? Thanks.
You can edit the description tag on the “page” for your home page, using the Yoast options on the static page you’re using with Visual Composer.
The admin cannot “fix” that for you, as you need to insert your own SEO data in the Yoast panel on your static page.
Check your page source to make sure you actually have the description tag populated. The theme has no control over how your meta data like that appears in Google.
Hi,
First you should update the theme to the latest version and also update the plugins.
1. You have to move the css that comes from the plugins to the page bottom, you have to look for their classes and use the function presented in the pagespeed guide, use the provided function to identify the classes (for css you can also look into the page source) – http://screencast.com/t/tmBelfMQ
Do not move the style.css that comes from the theme, it causes issues.
Ex:
$this->move_style_to_footer('js_composer_front');
You should do this only after you decide which plugins you’ll use. Also note that not all plugins will tolerate this operation, after each move check the site to see if everything works fine.
About contact form – we use Contact Form 7 on our demo, you can try it or ask for another recommendation, i’m sure someone will provide some feedback on this.
2. and 3. Avoid js minification, it causes errors.
Try the other minification settings included in the W3 Total Cache plugin. – http://screencast.com/t/3cbIE92N
Thank you, Emil G.
