Hi,
To update the plugin to latest version you need to download the latest theme version from Themeforest and inside the package in plugin folder is the latest version of the Visual composer.

Please deactivate all plugins and see if works, probably there is a conflict between composer and other plugins.

Hi,
I received the notification via email about the Newspaper theme update on 20 December and noticed Visual Composer is updated to 4.3.5. However, in my “downloads” package in my envato account, I could only find VC 4.3.4. not 4.3.5. I checked today again but sill no 4.3.5. in my downloads. Do you know why?

I bought the Newspaper theme 3 times and tried to update the visual composer. Unfortunately it always tells me that i have to insert envato username, api key and license key first. I used the license key that i received from You guys but it doesn’t get accepted.
What should I do in order to update the plugin or find a replacement?

The Visual Composer plugin that comes with the theme is licensed to the theme, the license specifies that only we can provide the updates and you don’t have to buy it or register it. We provide updates on a regular basis, after we test the plugin for theme compatibility the plugin is included in the latest theme update, inside the Plugins folder.

All those issues are not happening on my side. I have latest WP version 4.1 and the latest js composer to.
Can you try to disable all plugins and see if works, could be from other plugins that are not compatible yet with WP 4.1

Just a quick added note:
The version of js_composer that came with the latest version of Newspaper seemed to also prevent me from logging in to WordPress normally.

I just wanted to let you know that I am having a problem with the latest version of js composer. I does not recognize the shortcode for vc column on my home page (www.tribyoot.org). I have reverted to the previous release (12/10/2014) and it works fine.
I hope you can resolve this issue so I can safely update my js composer.

If you’re using some kind of image management plugin, it may be the culprit (e.g., JetPack Photo, etc.).
I’ve never seen this happen on ANY WordPress website before.
You might try
1) clear all caching; reset CDN if using one.
2) disable any image modification plugins.
3) perhaps try regenerate thumbnails plugin.
The theme doesn’t do that, so it’s likely something funky you’re running on your site which is doing that someplace. Often you need to clear cache, turn off all plugins except Visual Composer, then check your pages again. Then go from there.
Visual Composer was updated with theme 1.31 the other day; it updated the version of Visual Composer which broke due to WordPress 4.1 update.
The plugin is updated separate from the theme, as it’s a plugin. So you have to delete old plugin, and install the newer version.
Newsmag 1.31 just updates the plugin, which can be installed alone if you already have Newsmag 1.3.
The updated version of Visual Composer (changelog):
19.12.2014 - ver 4.3.5
- Compatibility with WP 4.1
For images, make sure you have regenerated thumbnails for the theme sizes.
One more issue.
Visual composer plugin is not updated with the theme update v1.3.
I have tried uploading complete theme files via ftp and also i tried to update my theme using envato wordpress toolkit plugin. Need your assistance.

Wordpress 4.1 broke existing version of visual composer. That is the reason for update.
Before the composer update from yesterday, everything works fine.
It is very complicated with updates, so much to be careful, why is that?
Are there any plugins that don´t work with the composer?
