We recommended W3TC in the past but now we also made some tests and WP Super Cache seems faster and we will recommend it also in our documentation for Newspaper 5.

I have checked your site and did not found the css that refers to the sidebar. Try to add also !important like this:

display: none !important;

}

It should work fine for your post’s sidebar.

The top menu was not designed to work on mobile, that’s why it is hidden. But you can use custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css to show it on mobile but you may need additional customizations for menu items that may drop on more rows – http://screencast.com/t/TT9KZLijK7fK

Also if you are using blocks on your page if you change the background color for your block title it will change automatically the hover color for your articles titles like you ca see on our demo – http://screencast.com/t/MI5hGnqlh8 – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/

I’m not sure where did you copied style.css please provide more details. Without changing the original file you will have this delay like I said above the original css code is loaded first.
Also if you don’t want to remove margin, you can try to float image log to the left directly in the file(so you will not have that delay) – http://screencast.com/t/BVgZsUV4sNx4

Hi,

Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option for this, you will need custom modifications to disable mobile version as the Newspaper theme was designed with an fixed grid layout, responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens. You can edit the style.css file and try to remove the @media query’s for phone. We plan to create/add an option, but I provide a date when this will be implemented.
