Hello Glitched,

Unfortunately, I cannot see the problem which you have reported above because I did not find our theme installed on your website from the link provided above. In the future, if you want to avoid this flash, all your customizations should have directly put in style.css.

Thanks for the message!

Hi

The theme imports only the css for a specific demo when you choose to install it without content. You will have to create your own pages and demo’s css will be applied on them.

Thanks!

Hello meremetia,

I suppose that you want to hide the article inline add for single posts, right? If you want this, please notice that you simply add the post ID number in front of the CSS code that hides the ad. For example, you can try this method -> http://screencast.com/t/0hdDLOp0

If you refer to something else, provide a screen pointing to the desired result, it would help us to understand what you’re trying to do.

Thanks.

Hi,
we are using currently newspaper 6 for a site still in development. We like to upgrade to 7.x before the launch.

We had made a major change to have the content col and the sidebar col widder resulting to a 1140px width. Just seeing that Newspaper 7 includes also less/css files I am wondering if there is a way to adopt the sizing (maybe also for the small-devices) by changing a few variables 🙂

What is the desired way to make the change ?

best

So I recently updated our theme from version 4 to the latest version and the homepage and category pages aren’t loading correctly. They seem to have no CSS being applied and aren’t following the formats setup with visual composer. While the posts themselves are loading fine.

The thing is the homepage & category pages load correctly when I’m logged into the admin account. However when I’m not logged in it doesn’t load correctly.

This is how it loads when I’m logged in: http://i.imgur.com/37a1wvK.jpg

This is how it loads when I’m not: http://i.imgur.com/OlfAL7J.jpg

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi again @offrezleweb,
Like the STAFF said you, try to disable third plugins or modifications.

You have two 404 not found errors from child theme:
1. …/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/images/icons/newspaper.woff?8
2. …/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/images/icons/newspaper.ttf?8

And the third one regarding scroll up/down,
It can be from everywhere, try do disable the “Tickbox” pop-up because is not working (almost on my Chrome & Firefox).

Why is added on wp-includes???
http:// http://www.gazettemauricie.com /wp-includes/js/thickbox/thickbox.css?ver=4.6.1
the same way:
http:// http://www.gazettemauricie.com /wp-includes/css/dashicons.min.css?ver=4.6.1

*also disable the smart sidebar from template settings because you not use any sidebar

Hi again @rayarasmussen,

If you haven’t made any modifications into the theme files (css, js, php), you will not lose anything.

All modifications/customization through theme panel settings, like for: header, footer, posts, translations, etc., etc., … and all your content, never are going to lose them because they are recorded into the data base (DB).

When you want to update something, allways before make a backup/copy from all your files + DB (if something goes wrong you can revert).

It is not advisable to use Envato Toolkit for updates, I think he has received some bad feedbacks! Take your time and learn how to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol), is very easy, free and will greatly help in the future. You will have access and control to all your files from server.

Use the search bar in this forum, you’ll find 99% answers for your Q.

Hello TagDiv,

I’ve made amendments to my site (glitched.co.uk) and as you can see, the Big Grid has had some CSS tweaks in order to show a different style.

However, I have noticed that upon loading (mainly on Chrome and Safari), there is a slight lag when this loads and it shows the Big Grid before the CSS changes are applied.

Is there any way for me to get rid of the way the original big grid loads so the user only see’s the customised version?

Thanks!

Thanks Catalin,

I’ll drop something in the custom CSS panel.

Again, would be another good feature for future updates. If you could choose from solid, underlined, tab styles etc headers it would make it really easy to customise.

Hello kesp,

Please notice that each demo from our list has an own custom CSS and this will apply only if the demo will be installed. It is not a simple task to customize a demo (like as Default demo layout) with the style to another demo (in our case, Cars Blog) because all the process involve custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry! The CSS for each demo can be found here -> http://screencast.com/t/zqgtibqLwgxL

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

We’re sorry for any inconvenience you have encountered using our theme.
The theme is tested and feature images should be displayed without any changes in code. However checking your site I’ve found some errors in browser’s console which are related with theme’s js: http://screencast.com/t/A5oKnz8tg This errors may be caused by some plugins which conflicts with the theme or by some minifycation used for js. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using, remove the css/js minification then test the site again.

The theme can’t control the informations picked by Facebook sharer when a post is shared. Facebook looks for og tags and picks the details from these tags. To generate the og tags you can use a plugin like SEO By Yoast which is tested and works fine with our theme. Please check these links for more details in this regard: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/
Another important aspect is server’s response time. Facebook won’t wait to long for requested data and if the server respond to slow some data will be skipped. Checking your site with google page-speed tool I’ve noticed that the response time is higher then 6s, please check the screen: http://screencast.com/t/2qMDqyDS2 Make sure that your server meets theme’s requirements and also ensure that the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

It is very likely that Facebook won’t anything about a new published post. Facebook handle a huge amount of data and a new published post won’t be indexed automatically. However you can force Facebook to update new posts by running a fresh scrape with debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/http://screencast.com/t/8rKTpv28f

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

Yes. That actually are loaded in footer but probably having query strings at the end might be making it consider to optimise further. Can we remove the version numbers that appears after these CSS names?

Thank you.

Hello Terrence,

In order to achieve as you wish, please notice that you have to use a bit of CSS which hide the Header and the footer section.

The code is ->

.td-header-wrap, .td-footer-wrapper{
display:none;
}

I guess that you want to use only one page which does not have the header and footer section, right? So, please notice that the above code will work for the entire website. If you want that code to be applied only for a specific page, please notice that you have to use the page id class which have to be put in front of the code provided. For example, if the page ID on which I want to hide the header and footer is 699, the code should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/UTl1cKHE

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello lasvegascfp,

There is an option for it in Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/aIavaqvE The color of the blockquote is affected by the General Theme color which can be changed from Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/XJbi4p7W8 Another alternative for changing this would be using a bit of CSS code, like this ->

.td-post-content blockquote p{
color:red!important;
}

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

hi dear tagdiv team,

this is quite an important question, as it comes from my customers:

i am using quite often the center blockquote feature from the editor. it looks nice on all devices and does a good job, when the need is for highlighting some text-parts. now: when setting up inline ads within articles, they very often show up WITHIN these blockquote boxes. And that does not look nice. It’s confusing. The text within these boxes then is set directly under the ad.

it of coure would be nice to see these inline ads only above a headline or at least within normal text parapraphs …

maybe you know a code snippet of css, which would help in this case? …

best regards! 🙂
Torsten

Hello manovee,

1)Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-description .block-title{
display:none;
}
.td-mobile-footer-wrap .td-footer-social .block-title{
display:none;
}

2)You will have to do some additional customization through code in order to achieve the Facebook Classic for the mobile version. Try the following steps in order to bring good results. The code which you should add to your core file is here -> http://pastebin.com/TXzLgz2X , like this -> http://screencast.com/t/95vJsDI3r0W Also, for more references in this regard, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-like-share-buttons-pictures/

Thanks.

Hello,

Well if the images are only 640 px width and the text is 696 px, then the image will not be able to stretch as our theme does not stretch images. It only crops them. Unfortunately there is no automatic way of changing all posts at once from the theme or wp setiongs. One solution would be to use this css to try to force 696 px on the image:
.td-post-content .alignnone, .wpb_text_column .alignnone, .td_block_text_with_title .alignnone, .woocommerce #tab-description .alignnone, .mce-content-body .alignnone{
margin: 0 0px;
width:100%!important;
}

This code will work if your images have no alignment. if you have an alignment set to them from the wp settings then another code is required. Please specify the alignment you have on your images if you have one.

Thank you!

Hi

Try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css:

.td-pb-row .wpb_column:before,
.td-pb-row .td-pb-span4:nth-last-of-type(3):after,
.td-pb-row .td-pb-span4:nth-of-type(3):after {
display: none;
}

Thanks!

And by the Andrei,
You missed one very important point, you checked the homepage but usually, Google or real people visit individual homepage quite often. And on the individual posts, the same .js and .css file ( One Akismet .js files and other 5 css file 2 from Google API and 3 from a tomatoheart plugin VC and style.CSS .

Have a look at the Google Pagespeed Insight for one of the post : http://tomatoheart.com/webjockey/facts-about-bb-ki-vines-bhuvan-bam/ at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=tomatoheart.com%2Fwebjockey%2Ffacts-about-bb-ki-vines-bhuvan-bam%2F&tab=desktop

Here, mobile and desktop score is almost same: 66/68 ( Snapshot here: https://i.snag.gy/GEvA1z.jpg )

Render blocking Codes from Desktop are:

Remove render-blocking JavaScript:
http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/akismet/_inc/form.js
Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:
http://domain.com/…in/public/css/facebook-login.css?ver=7.3
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…0,700|Amiri:400,700|Lora:400,700&ver=7.3
http://fonts.googleapis.com/…italic,700,900,500italic,400,300&ver=7.3
http:/domain.com/…r/assets/css/js_composer.min.css?ver=7.3
http://domain.com/…ntent/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=7.3

You can check it for any posts of my website and you will find the same thing. SO, the issue is not only with Mobile version.
You may want to look at it again.

Thank you Chris,
I will surely try to learn the steps that you has suggested above. I hope I have already moved the style.css to footer using speedbooster plugin ( or does actually moving mean something else?) and have probably de-enqueued from header using your code in fucntions.php . The only thing left is manually put crticial CSS in header.php using tools like https://jonassebastianohlsson.com/criticalpathcssgenerator/ . I am unaware of the steps to do so for now. But will surely learn from somewhere.

Thank you very much again 🙂
