Simon,

I am having two problems with the image display for my post template style 6. When the image displays as a single post, much of the image is missing, even though I use a large image as you recommended. Can you have a look at my dev site please?

Also, on the single post template you would see that it is a box design even though I have no background image or colour set. How do I make this appear like your demo https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-the-new-screen-savers-the-show-that-launched-video-into-the-stratosphere/?

Thanks

Hello,

You should install the theme without content! Notice that’s a simple dummy data which has been created for demo presentation. Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
Understand this:
I first Installed newspaper theme and then under Template Settings > blog and post template I select M6 style. Now after that I installed the News Magazine demo. The homepage view as mentioned in the News Magazine demo isn’t coming up. How can I get that?

Thanks for the quick reply, Catalin, but you missed answering some of the questions, please:

5- How do I make some of the elements on the homepage to show visible border?

6- How do I make the widget “Recent Articles” in the sidebar to show featured images/thumbnail pictures, as it is in the demo:
https://www.screencast.com/t/y2jUztdnt8k

7- How do I make the “Related Articles” and “More from Author” to show bigger featured images in mobile, rather than the current small images:
https://www.screencast.com/t/38KicbAHP

8- Is it possible to make the smart sidebar remain constant when scrolling down as well as when scrolling up? Right now, it shows the last item on the sidebar when scrolling down, and shows the first item on the sidebar when scrolling up. Is it possible to only show just one when scrolling down and up?

Looking forward to your answers,

Thanks!

Hello pocto,

1)If you will check our demo preview here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ you will see that the mega menu loading as expected. This problem can happen due to such untested plugins used by you and which can interact with the theme core files which might cause a lot of js and unknown errors. Remove all of them, clear all the caches and check the results.
2)You should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at your Top Bar menu and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate code.
3)Unfortunately, there is no option for this at the moment. If you edit the PHP files you will make all posts open in new tabs. If this is what you want, you can add
target="_blank"
here: http://screencast.com/t/4W7ikxysFjDy
Simply add it before the closing bracket for the tag.

I hope this helps.

Thank you!

Hi support team,

Great theme! Playing around with it and still loving it the more each day!

Instead of putting my questions one by one, I have compiled them these past months into the following?

1- How do I reduce the time that the dropdown menu falls for the mega menu, upon mouse over the menu items? It’s a bit distracting when it shows with the slightest mouse over. It will be good to reduce the time.

2- How do I reduce the height of the “Top Bar” (top bar is the black top menu)?

3- How do I make all posts on frontpage to open in new tabs, when clicked on?

4- How do I make all posts on category pages to also open in new tabs, when clicked on ?

Thanks!

The thumbnails at the bottom of the gallery are not displayed on mobile, please see the gallery demo here
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/

They were never displayed on mobile I believe, I don’t know exactly why that decision was made at the time.

Hello,

1)Your theme looks different on mobile than desktop as layout because I noticed that you are using the Mobile Theme version. If you want to revert to the desktop layout, you should simply disable the Mobile Theme plugin and the theme will be automatically switched to the general responsive mode. For more information, please check the following documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
2)Please notice that we do not have a specific resolution for our image used on the demos. We recommend using minimum HD images as quality if you want to achieve better and accurate results. For example, in our demo, we have used the following image for background -> https://www.screencast.com/t/NRrKw7uNLeSg

Thanks for your understanding!

You don’t seem to have installed an actual demo, so there would be no overriding font settings from that. The font settings of the main menu seem to be the default ones.

What exactly is happening if you change the font properties in the theme panel?
https://www.screencast.com/t/bJDtOWqM4p
Also what changes are you making exactly? Are they set right now?

Polish – Witam, ostatnio kupiłem Newspaper, zainstalowałem i mam kłopot.

English by Google Translate – Hello, I recently bought a newspaper, installed and I have a problem.

1) I installed Default Demo (InfoPowiat.pl) and I see that my mobile version is different from the demo version – what can I change? It is useful to change the TD Composer site only the desktop version changes. In the editor of the pages in the “Mobile Editor” there is nothing, after copying the code version of the mobile page is not loading.
2) What is the larger resolution of the main category? The different categories have different styles, so you can change (http://infopowiat.pl/kategoria/fashion/new-look-2015/; http://infopowiat.pl/kategoria/fashion/street-fashion/; http: //infopowiat.pl/kategoria/fashion/style-hunter/; http://infopowiat.pl/kategoria/fashion/vogue/).

Hi Simion,

The site is virginiamercury.com

Yes, we started with demo content. Where do I change those settings?

Hi,

So you want to add new modules by API. There may be a different way to have custom modules. The new flex blocks have a considerable amount of options, all aspects of the module can be customized
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/flex-block/
One flex block can be used and modified to look in endless ways. It would also be easier then adding modules, you could give it a try.

Hi,

The width of the classic demo is the same like the website you provided
https://www.screencast.com/t/0FyNpROfm7B
https://www.screencast.com/t/1KGQzhM6QZ
The theme has only one default general width for the content, 1068px. This cannot be changed in general only by modifications in the stylesheet. It is not recommended to do so however, it may cause layout and design issues.
What differences are you seeing exactly?

Hi,

I have checked the list you mention again, for me it starts with the first list item. I refreshed the page multiple times, also checked with a different browser and computer. The list initially starts with item number 1.

What I noticed is that let’s say I use the list pagination to see the number 2 item, then if I refresh the page it redirects to the about page
https://www.screencast.com/t/o2PVBQp7
If I go back to the list from the about page it starts with item 5.

When I access the number 3 item and refresh the page the list starts with item 5, also by a redirect
https://www.screencast.com/t/ROqo92Bk

That should not happen, it should work like here
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/smart-list-style-1/

Maybe you have some redirect implementations by a plugin or htaccess, I can’t say for sure.

Hello Simion

I have the problem only with one website – macrozone.pl
Please compare width with classic blog demo
I have many others websites based on newspaper and all of them (besides macrozone.pl) have correct width.

You can see the links I need to change on the printscreen here: https://ctrlv.cz/O8ZL

Please advise how I can change the links color?

Thanks,

Hi,

AMP will work for posts mainly, check posts by adding /amp at the end of the URL. AMP post example in a theme demo
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/td-post-ethereum-millionaires-attract-attention-from-regulators/amp/

AMP can be used on pages if enabled in the theme panel AMP settings, but with the condition that the page is created with the default WordPress editor and it’s capabilities
https://www.screencast.com/t/1sT81I5LY
So pages built with the page builders will not work with AMP. Pages can be tested by adding /?amp after the URL.

Thanks

Hi,

You can ask as many questions as needed, we and other users will try to help you as best we can.

For that post template in order to achieve a quality result, the image should be bigger. For example the demo uses a featured image of this size
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/snow.jpg
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-the-new-screen-savers-the-show-that-launched-video-into-the-stratosphere/
If there is a background color or image set, the website will be boxed, so the post template would look like this
http://prntscr.com/kaq0or

You could try some thumbnail cleaner plugins, make some tests with them. Maybe these one
https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-cleaner/
https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/
Consider making a back-up before, in case something doesn’t work as intended, better to be safe.

You could try a third party pages widget, the default widget allows only to exclude. I believe there are also solutions online to modify WordPress files to make the pages widget include instead of exclude.
Note that our blocks can display pages as well
https://www.screencast.com/t/CPaAjXzV8xNp
You can filter the pages by ID, adding specific IDs will only display those pages.

Thanks

Hi,

That is unusual, the theme panel font settings should apply for the main menu. Did you install a demo?
Some demos define font properties for various elements in the demo stylesheet, so theme panel settings may not apply.

I could take a look as well, if possible please provide a link to your website.

Thanks

Hi,

@Piotr1985

A general width setting does not exist, you can stretch rows that you use in pages, also use full width big grids.
There are full width elements to be placed in pages, like grids
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/full-big-grid-1/ (10 types of full width grids)

Rows in pages can be stretched – https://www.screencast.com/t/LjPxJ1iLIIz

Header and Footer elements – https://www.screencast.com/t/HgtsNIs1

There are also multi-purpose elements in the tagDiv composer, you could check them out.

Thanks

Hello theekalvin,

Please notice that if you are not using the Mobile Theme, the theme will display the exact elements which are displayed on the desktop version but in responsive mode, optimized for mobile devices. You should check our demo preview and find out what kind of blocks/modules you should use which looks on the mobile like with the mobile theme layout. You can start from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/X6qnuF20dMy -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-9/

Thanks for your understanding!
