The gadgets theme demo as other demos as well, ad their own css style to the theme and in many cases change the default colors. Sometimes a stronger css code is required.
Try this code in the theme panel-> custom css section:
.td-gadgets .td-header-style-5 .sf-menu > li > a:hover{
color:orange;

1. The default grid style (all grids) does have a darker gradient over the bottom part of the image, I believe this is to make the post title and meta more visible when lighter images are used

Anyway you could remove it with some CSS if not required, or maybe change the style of the grid

Since you removed it, what would you like to do now with the grid exactly? I will try to help you.
You can use any of the grids, full grids and blocks in that page. Choose the ones you like. For the article title colors I could give you a code once you choose the elements you want to use.
I believe there are plans to add a color setting for the article titles in modules, in a future update.

3. Maybe that look could be achieved with the flex blocks. Those blocks are not predefined, so they can be set to display in many ways. With their settings and maybe some additional CSS you could get that result or similar.

There were no font changes. Please check the fonts settings in your theme panel or in the tagdiv composer for that page specifically. Where are you changing the font that is not applying to your page?

That’s unusual, of you remove that code the header style would look as it does by default. Maybe you have caching and the page is not refreshing. Clear your cache and then force refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R).

All im trying to do as change the hover over colour of my menu text when hovered from black to orange as I want a black menu background. I have the gadget theme selected and I’ve physcially gone into the demo_style.css to change the colour but everytime it stays black. I even go into inspect element and see it’s still black yet wordpress tells me it’s saved as orange. I can even change the colour via inspect element which obviously doesnt save and it changes, so I know thats the correct line.

I cant see that mine newspaper theme is installed right because the second categories are only: welcome, plugins, install demos, support, system status, theme panel. Activate theme is missing. Newspaper will not respond when I activate the theme? What can I do? I have tried to install and download exactly as youtuber do: Newspaper 8 Tutorial. I have done exactly the same thing the youtuber do.

Unfortunately, I do not know much about it, it has been added to modify an ad from rental cars that did not display properly and to modify the bullet point list fonts. This was added by somebody who no longer works for us.
I do not know about any modification to the theme files.

I have changed the category template in Category global settings and now all the category headlines are missing.
I am trying to use template 4 to make my categories look like in the demo version “travel theme” (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/category/destinations/europe/), but I am not getting the headline (“Europe” in the case of the example)

All the theme demos are created with the tagDiv composer, this is the main page builder at the moment. Most features provided after it’s release are connected to it, most upcoming new features will be for it.
The newly included Cloud library plugin works only with the tagDiv composer as well.

All demos contain custom design and will import theme panel settings when installed. The Gadgets demo contains a customized version of header style 5. You can see how that header style looks by default here

That black hover color is coming from the demo. It is predefined in the demo stylesheet

So no theme panel setting will replace it. At the time the demo was created there were’t many theme panel color settings, so this was made with CSS in the demo stylesheet.
A solution would be to remove the customization the demo adds for the header elements. Then the theme panel colors will apply

That would be the most recommended method to do this if you ant to keep using header style 5 with your own colors. Or you could change the header style, the customization of the demo applies only for style 5.

That has a top positioned grid meta, maybe consider using that.
It would be easier than modify the grid CSS with code that might or might not work, also it will probably damage the responsive design.
