I have exactly the same problem: in my tag page I set a Flex Block 1 with the filter “Category – Current category” but it always shows the same articles, despite the tag I clicked on.

The main flex grid filters it’s articles based on a post category and displays them sorted by date. We would like to have the option to choose the first article (the one enclosed in a red square) preferably by it’s post ID.

We were wondering if there is a way to pin an article on the first spot of the featured articles flex grid on the home page. We know that we can manually filter the results by their ID, but we only need to specify the first spot and fill the rest by date.

There are two instances:
1) I am modifying the category-template and want to have the Author name be white. But it stays black. Perhaps I need to modify it somewhere else? See screen shot.

If you have 2 flex blocks with the same settings and they are displaying the same posts, then you can use an offset and a limit for the flex blocks. For example: 1 block with the limit posts: 2 and the second one with the limit posts: 2 and offset: 2, if you would like the 3rd one then you set limit posts: 2 and offset 4, etc.

1. In Edit with tagDiv, I have a Front Page with numerous Flex Bloc 1s.
2. One Flex Bloc is titled Spotlight and shows articles with the Tag:Spotlight
3. Another Flex Bloc is titled Features and shows articles with the Tag:Features
4. I want to be able to show articles in Spotlight, but not have them show up AGAIN in Features, on same Front Page.
5. SOLUTION: Tag articles appropriately with SPOTLIGHT or FEATURE. Sure, but this solution is time consuming to RE-TAG articles all the time, since articles are in the SPOTLIGHT for about a week.
6. DESIRED SOLUTION: 99% of all articles are always tagged FEATURE. Sometimes they are in SPOTLIGHT. For those also tagged SPOTLIGHT, set the FEATURE FLEX BLOC to <<NOT SHOW ANY ARTICLES THAT ARE TAGGED SPOTLIGHT>>. Then, I can rest assured there is not redundancy. And all I have to do is add or remove the SPOTLIGHT tag when alternating articles INTO THE SPOTLIGHT SECTION. The FEATURE section will not also display any articles in the SPOTLIGHT.
7. To do this, there is a feature which I tried to configure, BUT I AM NOT SURE OF THE SYNTAX.
DESCRIPTION OF EFFORT, BUT DID NOT WORK:
1. POST ID FILTER: yes this works, but is time consuming to look up each POST ID…etc.
2. Multiple taxonomies filter: put a “-” before the TAG ID (for SPOTLIGHT)
Among many other things I tried, this obvious one above (solution #2) did not work. I THINK I HAVE THE SYNTAX WRONG, or MULTIPLE TAXONOMIES FILTER does not filter for TAGS. (By the way, I tried both the TAG ID and the word “spotlight.”
Any help is much appreciated.

Number of Comments for each article does not show up on home page

1. In Newspaper Theme panel, “show comment count” is toggled ON. Correctly, comment count displays on each post.
2. In PAGES (where front page is), using “Edit with tagDiv Composer,” Flex Bloc 1, Layout, Date/Comment section, SHOW COMMENT is toggle “SHOW,” BUT DOES NOT SHOW.
3. No matter what color text or background chosen in STYLE
Other toggles work, like Author pic, Author name, Color text, Color background etc., even for Category etc. all work. THE ONLY THING THAT DOES NOT WORK IS TO SHOW COMMENT NUMBER ON FRONT PAGE where articles are listed.

Sorry for the late answerer, for the moment we do not work in weekends!
Now about the flex blocks, the image on those are set on default, but in case that you install a pre-builder website, then the image size can be changed.
Also if you have a Pro pre-build website, this is made using tagDiv Composer and cloud templates. Also in this case the logo need to be changed using the theme builder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXQQygkCCJo

These features I believe would make great new things for Newspaper:
- Dark mode.
- Reading time for each post (‘2 min read’, for example).
- Can also display Tags (instead of Category) on flexbox elements

Seems you use Blocks from tagDiv Standard Pack, so, you need to go in Theme Panel -> Block Settings -> https://i.imgur.com/egBfOMs.png
However, I would suggest you change these blocks, with flex blocks.
The flex blocks offer more options and are more flexible.

That’s what I am saying I tried every size. But still, I can’t get the full image. It’s still cropped. I tried this in Flex block 5, Flex block 1 but didn’t work. But in one Flex block 5 it’s already showing full image. The block which is in green color. https://imgur.com/1OeEYOx

2. Please delete the symbol “#”, and save it.

The SEO tag was added on the flex blocks to be able to create your SEO and those are available only on tagDiv Composer, there are no options for this in the widgets section.

Each block uses a specific thumb. For example, if you use Flex Block 1 you can choose the image size => https://i.imgur.com/1f6CXA9.png or you can set the height and width https://i.imgur.com/fsChM94.png or you can use Big grid flex https://i.imgur.com/b0z9MjN.png
