I could give you a hint of what I do with my site. You create a staging site on a subdomain (or a new folder inside public_html) and then install WordPress and newspaper. Then import the demo you want with the content. Then copy the shortcodes inside the homepage of the test site and create a new page on my original site and paste the shortcodes there. I then try to modify the look using td composer to match my site look. Maybe you should try it. But you should test thoroughly coz some of the elements may or may not work. (I don’t work here)
Hi, Mailchimp have a sign up pop up form for to insert in site. The advice of other users is to insert directly in the page (in homepage) but if I do it, TagDiv composer don’t work. What is the experience of TagDiv with this Mailchimp script? How can I insert this?
Hello!
The site I’m working on requires an editorial workflow that has the need to select where a story will appear on the site.
Example: A “Top Story” is meant to be the first, large block on the homepage. Then other featured stories under it. After that, the typical news loop that is paginated and excludes the “Featured” stories. The “Top Story” won’t just be the latest “Featured” story.
I see the “Featured” category is hidden from users on the front end of the site and can be excluded from the loop. https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
When I make a sub category under “Featured” category, those stories are not hidden from the loop and the “Featured” category along with the sub category is visible on the front-end.
Is there a way to hide “Featured” and any child categories under it? It seems adding a child category and using it breaks the “Featured” functionality.
Maybe a bug? It would be great if we could have a set of categories to filter on that are hidden from the front end like “Featured” is currently.
Hope you have ideas on how I can do this. Thanks!
Hello! I am using the “title” shortcode element on my homepage and I have set the accent hover color to #9acd32 but the color does show when I hover. Will you please help me with this?
I am testing this under the first block under the slider labeled “Alerts”. I want the blue “read more” title to hover to green:
My question is a little vague, but let me explain.
At this point we have say demo 7. And have it modified to our taste (colors, additions, etc. etc.)
Now we have seen demo 2 and would like to implement some of the features (looks, banners, the way the homepage is set up, etc.) to our demo 7. (or.. take some of the features of demo 7 and implement that easily to demo 2). Now.. what is the easiest way to do this without disrupting a lot? I guess I can take apart the homepage of demo 7 and see what I want to keep, switch to demo 2 and put stuff back… but.. what if it messes everything up?
From what I can see, the pages are made up out of building blocks. Is there an easy way to see a homepage of demo 7 and see how that is made up, so that we can implement that to our current homepage?
(without just clicking on demo 2 and hit install and overwrite our whole site with a totally new look (which would trash some of the features we’ve added manually)
Hope it made sense.. and that you can help me here!
Hello,
I need advice how to fix the images on the homepage, sliders, categories etc. On the website http://www.bloggersre.com as you can see the images are not resized automatically on the one visual size. For example here https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_lifestyle/ are the images automatically cropped/resized base on that if it the category in the menu, slider on homepage or feed of newest articles etc.
How can I set up that images will not be as it is now on the http://www.bloggersre.com but it will be cropped/resized to the right size?
Thank you very much!
Yeah, I did it! Now, the carousel has been displayed on my blog: http://prntscr.com/jdr0j3
But, the carousel its not displaying on mobile version. The mobile version is displaying the default wordpress homepage. What should I do to make the mobile version is displaying the same design with desktop version?
likely a plugin issue then. update the TD Composer plugin. Hope that works – I’ve been using the theme for three years but I’m no expert 🙂
I’d also suggest get a clone page/post plugin and keep a backup of your homepage saved as a draft available in case you need to replace it in an emergency.
Sorry for misunderstanding. You seem to be using the default WordPress blog homepage, which displays your latest articles.
You can create a page with the tagDiv composer, use any of the elements you want in it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
The multi-purpose plugin will also add more elements in the composer when activated.
Once created set the page as homepage
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
I’m not an admin here but I’ve had a similar problem following other updates.
Try clicking “Edit with TD Composer” at the top of the homepage – that is if you built it the page with TD Composer – if not, then you need to.
If you did, then when in TD Composer you should see the problem or delete that block and reinsert it again.
If that doesn’t work make sure you have the latest TD Composer update.
Worked for me – good luck 🙂

Hi,
Yeah, I know that. But, the carousel/slider is not displayed in blog template (homepages). What should I do if I wanna displaying the carousel/slider in homepages?
thanks
Hello brenbrinkman,
Do you want to add a sidebar on this homepage or what? Sorry but I do not understand what do you want to achieve. Provide more details and screens.
Thanks.
Hello Marco D’Elia,
It seems to be strange. Do you have tried to add some TD Composer elements to your homepage? Ensure that your theme has been correctly installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, you should send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page.
Thanks.
That is the name of the category in my case
– https://www.screencast.com/t/YYSvO0czL
The code will look in the category header section and when it finds that category name it will color the tag, like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/I0PadH2u
This code will not work on the homepage. All the tags on block modules have a predefined black color, while the hover will be the color you set for the block title background
– https://www.screencast.com/t/L5CxtNbieNy3
The default hover color of the tags will be the theme accent color set in the theme panel.
This would be a related topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/category-label-appearance-on-block-1/
Maybe there will be more options added for the category tags design in a future update, I believe it is added on our list.
When I scale my window, the Titles get beneath eachother. Is there a way to make the titles smaller when an window is made smaller (or an other solution to make the design still look good)

Hi there,
I need to add live search below main menu. Can you please share the code? Share live search or normal search widget code please.
Thanks
I have one more question regarding removing the spaces between the thumbnail on Homepage Top Block. Can i remove those spaces as it doesn’t look good.
I want to know how to add a slider on Homepage Top Block. Currently, I am using grid Block 7.
What about the other pages like homepage?
Hi Catalin
thanks – but I’m still unclear. For example – my homepage is completely different to the homepage i had ‘out of the box’ with the black demo. I have my own bakery elements, each of which with settings showing perhaps particular categories with animations and borders and padding, backgrounds etc. i have a sidebar with different widgets appearing on different pages and categories, i have pages using accordions and so on. Are all of those settings lost and i just end up with the new chosen demo exactly as it appears on your demo site, so i would have to go through and do all of that development again, or do i have my current homepage, but in different colours/styles?
Hello,
1. I’m using https://wordpress.org/plugins/unite-gallery-lite/ plugin to build image gallery. It provides shortcode [unitegallery fotogallery] to use. When I edit my homepage in text mode and place shortcode, it appears fine but using my TD visual composer, I’m unable to use this shortcode. Problem of using shortcode in text mode is, whenever I update any elements using TD composer, the change made using shortcode disappears immediately 🙁 Whats the solution?
Please check block above footer https://somvabona.news/ in this link. Shortcode appears as it is: [unitegallery fotogallery]
2. Or, Is there any way I can show image gallery in my homepage?
Hi,
That would be an image from the demo, I believe it is the image set as background for this row in the homepage
– https://www.screencast.com/t/w4K4I87s
Edit the page with the tagDiv composer and select that row, check the CSS tab of the row and click on remove the background image
– https://www.screencast.com/t/zyQKhmhj
Then set a different image of your choosing or none at all, depending on your preference.
Thanks
I’m trying to get a specific post to display in the top block/main image on my homepage.
I’ve followed all your guides on using Tagdiv filter panel… and it still will not work. Here’s my site:

post ID – 38

Hi,
For me your website loads quite quickly, homepage in about 2 seconds and posts in just under 3 seconds.
From what I can see there are some timeouts on some resources that are trying to load
– https://www.screencast.com/t/JYmeNiIOzI
Those seem to be related to a plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/HerqPcvvHbS
Also there a a few mixed content warnings related to some images. All of these could potentially slow down the website. Try to fix them and check again.
Also consider using caching if you do not already, we recommend the WP super cache if possible. There are also many speed optimization guides here in the forum
