Hi folks,

I’m just about to finish creating a website with Newspaper and I want to have a full screen image on the homepage.

I’ve used the image block to do this, but there is a large gap of white space below the nav bar (see screenshot below).

Is there any CSS you can give me to reduce this?

The ideal situation is that the image sits nicely against the nav bar with no white space.

I do not see the “Less Images” homepage as an option after importing the default demo content. Where is this available?

First of all nice theme!, really fast and really easy to use.

My problems are that I’m having trouble with tagdiv composer and with the theme panel.
1 • TagDiv composer: whenever I make a change on some element, the tagdiv composer shows the change, but when I click the “save” button it keeps on saving for eternity (like a loop). I go to my homepage and I see the changes but, tagdiv never stop saving, something is wrong here.

2 • Theme Panel: what’s happening here, is that it does not matter what changes I make, when I click the save button it does not save them. It says that the changes are saved but when I go to see the homepage (or the option I was working on) there’s no change. I tryed different things but the only thing that “makes it work” (not always) is to create a nonesense new css class like “.test { color:white }” and save the changes. Then I can see them on the web.

What could be happening? can you help me fix it? any help is appreciated. Thanks very much!

I don’t want to display the date entry from the posts at the homepage as it is already displayed on opening the post.
Let me know what to do for this. Thanks in advance

you’ll see the cover images are not displayed. But when including these blocks on the homepage they show fine.

Hi guys, love the theme, been using it for ages now and i’ve finally got it looking pretty after many years of hard work. (http://www.thestyledivision.com)

When I use the search function the thumbnails don’t work but I double checked and all the images are loading fine individually.

The same happens in the sidebar using Block 15

In the ‘Block Settings’ panel everything is turned on and I’ve tried to regenerate the thumbnails to no avail. Any other ideas?

I’ve recently tested the page speed and optimization of the website, because the traffic is stagnating since ive installed your theme. Something is really wrong and i dont know what to do to fix it.

Please assist me to fix the homepage size and loading performance ..cause Google keeps downranking the page 🙁

it’s been a while i’m using your theme and always got an issue which did not take care until now.
actually my youtube playlist on homepage looks cropped in order to fill playlist placeholder… but in this way youtube video thumbnail it is cutted out.

if i play with browser zoom i do get something like this:

my question is: is it possible to obtain tha same result as default by now? i see there are padding settings in the td composer but i’m not sure on how to use it and if they can drive me to this.

actually i prefere to see a black horizontal bar under the playlist placeholder rather than seeing the cropped youtube title.

how can i use stretch row and content (with paddings) for the whole site? i have used it in homepage via tagdiv composer setting but it is kinda weird to lose the setting when browsing to inside pages

My previous template used Featured Images on the homepage only and not within the post itself. To add an image to a post I used the Add Media function within the post. I have hundreds of posts set up this way. Now using Newspaper I’m seeing duplicates of the images. Is there a way to designate my Featured Images as only being used for the homepage.

This is very important for me because otherwise the section “popular articles last 7 days” in my homepage can’t work.

We use the Newspaper Theme v 8.7.2. On our (static) Homepage and several other pages I want to place a sidebar where I can put a a page overview. I read almost all your tutorials about sidebars, tried everything I can think of, but can not get a sidebar in my template. I use tag_Div Composer for my pages. I tried standard Custumiser but that says there are 4 more widget area’s that can not been shown. Tried creating a new sidebar trough Template setting – Page Template – create new sidebar. Then I read I need a widgetised Sidebar block, but there is no widget to be found called Sidebar. I did try to place the widget Pages in Newpaper template, but that doesn’t do anything.

The pages have a big grid on top of the page. They need a single row. The template for pages is 3 rows wide, but has plenty of (white) space on the left and the right. I would like to be able to place a sidebar on the right side, to make navigation al lot easier for my visitors. Is there any way this is possible? How or where do I find a widgetised sidebar that I can customise myself? How to I even make room for a sidebar in this template, wich clearly doesn’t work trough template settings?

Any help is much appreciated!

The main categories of my website are ‘Culture’ and ‘Style’. Each one of them has multiple subcategories. I created another primary category named ‘Featured’ in order to show only posts that I want to promote.

My homepage contains 2 Big Grids (Big Grid 4) where I will show the latest 2 posts of each main category, ‘Culture’ and ‘Style’. I set the Category filters as I should and everything is working fine.

At the top, I added a slide to show some featured posts. Some of my test posts were allocated to the category ‘Featured’ and, at the same time, ‘Culture’ or ‘Style’. However, when I try to set the Category filter of this slide as ‘Featured’, no posts are shown. And if I select ‘Culture’ or ‘Style’, those posts appear.

This is really weird since those posts appear except if I select ‘Featured’. Can you help me? Thanks!

I want to start off and say that I love the Newspaper theme and am overall extremely happy with the results I am able to achieve with it.

I’ve recently run into a problem on my website’s homepage (https://www.thepostmillennial.com) where I have a mobile and desktop/tablet version of the page. This was achieved by using the responsive column options in WPbakery.

The issue is that duplicate posts are showing up in some of my blocks because they have multiple categories (for example breaking news and politics.) I tried enabling unique posts but this displays unique posts across both the mobile and desktop/tablet rows of the home page making it so that the articles are outdated on the desktop/tablet version since they are already displayed on the mobile row.

How can I make it so that I have both a mobile and desktop/tablet row that display unique posts in their own right but do not affect each other?

I just bought the newspaper theme and installed one of the demos. The catagory pages work fine, but the home page just shows the page title. I have researched for hours but couldn’t figure out how to get the home page to appear as in the demo.

Could you tell me more about this piece of code of homepage, from Technology theme?

Where do you store background-image:url value? I’m getting crazy I didn’t found where to change…
