No search results were found in Documentation!
When we started using Newspaper theme the carousel on the front page worked like a charm, but lately we’ve experienced issues with the main photo not lining up right with the smaller photo, making the site look terrible. This was worse than ever when we published our latest article.
We’ve not made any changes to the carousel CSS. What could be the reason behind this?

I use the popular categories widget as sown on the preview (http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/) bottom right.
My popular categories widget doesn’t show the most popular categories. It shows my categories randomly. When is a category popular? Is that based on posts or views? What do I have to do to display the categories based on their popularity? Most popular categories on top.
The large slider on my homepage has 4 posts. One large and three smaller ones along side. Also as shown on your preview. When I look at the website on my iPhone only the large one is shown. The three along side are gone. How can I make sure all of my latest posts are visible on the iPhone?

As you can see, the end of the link is getting pulled into these modules and it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with excerpts.
Ironically, many of the theme updates are to fix issues with added features requested by users.
Disagree with some of these:
most people don’t look at weather on websites anymore since it’s on their cellphone. 5-10 years ago this was popular… now? Not so much.
If you have your breaking news on homepage, category page, tag, right side of each post, a news ticker now is a bit gimmicky unless you have breaking news every 5-10 minutes. 99% of major news portals no longer have this.
Full search bar – many people don’t search “on” the site anymore; and MOST designs for websites have gone to the search only appearing when clicked (NY Times, LA Times, etc.)
“Readers” start on home page. Anecdotal visitors come from search engine search, not from searching on site.
Just my thoughts. All of these “bloat” elements really slow down the site, page load, pagespeed, and most have to be removed for mobile, so, not super useful to most people.
Comments based on our news portals online 15 years, updated daily. Your mileage may vary.
PERSONALLY: I would like to see an update to ensure all the underlying elements are 100% up to date and 100% solid for a newspaper theme, and would like to see the author element on by default on post pages which is industry standard practice – this is more important to us than more bbpress, woocommerce, supermenus, etc. Speed, reliability, consistency.

Do you refer to the Big Slide? If you do note that the big slider is not a part of the header, it’s under the header and yes, it is possible.
You just have to create the slider and add it on page using the visual composer Revolution Slider block element – http://screencast.com/t/2kO8gjrJ
If you want to replace it on Homepage BG templates you have to edit the template file and replace the Big Slider line with the Revolution Slider shortcode

Great Job getting the information out. I, too, love Async JS and CSS (note: use the default CSS inline and hack away at style.css).
A combination of that tool, removing td speed booster, and Google PSS helped me score a 100 Page Speed Insights on my homepage! http://www.popworkouts.com

The footer on my site is wrapping on the homepage only (other pages are OK) – anyone have a fix.

Many thanks! With the help of a friend i was able to bypass the problem completely using the WP No Category Base – WPML compatible plugin. I guess it had something to do with the fact that in mid production process we changed the URL format of the content.
Here is the site, we just wen’t online and i want to congratulate tagDIV for the wonderful theme, great work guys.
Still have a couple of issues though, specially because i’m no expert on CSS at all.
1. The social icons in the theme don’t seem to be fully integrated with the destination social networks (eg: i’m able to post in facebook but no picture or title appear as it happens in the newspaper theme demo, just the website name link).
2. Trying to solve the issue above i made the mistake of activating jetpacks publicize whith inserted 3 extra social icons that i’m not being able to remove at this point even after deactivating publicize.
These are the main issues i’m having at this point, everything else seems to be running swell. Most apreciated if you can direct me to links that might help me solve these problems.
PS – as you see we did some homepage subtle CSS changes, nothing much.

Hi ppl, in a bit of a stress since i’m on the eve of launching a website using Newspaper :). Hope you can help me out.
When i installed the theme the tag feature worked fine. Now, that i’ve inserted content and prepared my own homepages suddenly the post tags are not working: they forward to the 404 template (unless when a tag has the same text as a category, in those cases it works).
Any clue on what is happening? thanks in advance for the (if possible urgent help).

The theme doesn’t have build in a features like that and need custom modifications, but if you want you can try to modify it yourself. You need to modify here: http://screencast.com/t/eNtRCWCNjSEq
Add a condition on the title so if it’s homepage it displays h1 and on the rest it displays h2:

You have to target only the page you want to apply the css on.

ex.

}To target only the mobiles you can use the @media syntax:
ex.
@media (max-width: 767px) {

}This way the color for the h4 element will be changed to red only on the homepage and only on mobiles.

I have the same problem, firefox is not updating my homepage at all. I delete Cache, also deactivate and nothing, still showing all post. How do I fix this issue

Mersi mult de raspuns. Am o problema si cu bannerele flash. Cand doresc sa le adaug se formeaza un dreptunghi imens, iar bannerele sunt de dimnesiuni minuscule. Nici nu se vad. Unde pot trimite un screenshot?

How to remove the “Don’t miss” section from the homepage? when i saw the demo of theme, there was “Home page style 4”, but now wheb i want to choose a homepage style, there is only homepage style 2,3,etc, but not 4

I think you could add a widget for posts, then use one of the modules for that sidebar for posts. Same idea as what I did for homepage sidebar, just doing it on the posts. Actually, I do something like this for “editor’s picks” on the sidebar for posts to highlight old content, from tag “editors picks” — this way I feature some interviews from past couple of years which are standout content, but not remotely current. Try it … nothing will blow up 🙂
Didn’t alter homepage but now under latest articles it just has text that says “Home”.
