Hi there,

The top 4 articles displayed on the homepage by default take readers to articles, how do I make it so these will instead take readers to categories of my choice? I.e. ‘Latest’, ‘Trending’, ‘Explore’, ‘Videos’ etc.

Screen shot for reference:

Thanks in advance!

Hi so we are using Newspaper Pro theme latest version.

I’ve noticed on our server, whenever we enable Nginx Page caching or Redis page cache, the font size of the titles of the homepage gets very small at random intervals.

When we are logged in as Admin, the font becomes normal sized. Only purging the cache fixes this problem.

Is there any fix for this? It’s ruining our caching strategy and the layout completely. I’m enclosing two snapshots of the font size of posts without cache and with cache.

Hello!

This option: https://prnt.sc/LK8OAjZpwUIn is working only for post and categories, not blocks or homepage.
I set primary category for that post: https://prnt.sc/D6rEBXOApfNP and now it should display only that primary category for that post.

Thank you!

Hello!

I can’t see it even on homepage: https://prnt.sc/4vpQu06oufRd
If you set different primary category, then it shouldn’t show anywhere.

Thank you!

Hi,

I’ve created a hidden category called ‘featured’ and I marked it with “HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” in theme panel > categories. The category isn’t showing in the actual post, however it does show on the homepage above the post’s title, as per screenshots below.

Is there a way to make sure it’s actually hidden everywhere?

Thank you

Good day please i updated the website to a new demo site, my issue is, the post are not organized they all flood in every section. Like there is a section for web3 news on the home page but it just shows the latest news posted even if it does not belong to that category same with others. If i click on the menu, it works fine but on the hoem page its scattered

Please how can i fix that
Thanks

It happens every time event organizer is selected or changed and page scrolled up to the top. If not scrolled I can save the changes. It is temporary workaround to keep us working but the error appears as soon as page is scrolled back to the top after selection/changing of event organizer, even after changes are saved.

Please investigate and fix that. I can see there is another topic with very similar error which has not been resolved since January.

I’ve recently bought this theme and was making some changes to the homepage via the front-end TagDiv editor. All was going well until I changed the default ‘fan count’ numbers shown for the Facebook, Twitter, YouTube stats on the right hand side, as the default values were obviously different to my actual ones.

Where it said ‘fixed fan amount’ (or something along those lines) I removed the number that was there and added the correct number (1,300 for Facebook), I also added a link to our Facebook page in the ‘Facebook id’ box, and did this with YouTube as well (left the YouTube ‘fixed fan count’ number empty). Anyway, I saved it then refreshed the page just to be met with a totally blank screen home page. My whole homepage had gone, the only thing that’s left is the header and footer which have both been unharmed. Where the body of the homepage was it now says ’empty column’, and I was greeted with an error message in the top right corner saying the following:

“Error at zones: 6(models) ” 5(dom). The model does not match the content Current site has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”

As seen in this image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FcmcgQhBWmauMmtJ4yubj1VMe6s7t7MH/view?usp=sharing

I tried both UNDO functions and neither did anything. The word ‘content’ in the above error message was hyperlinked so I clicked it and this time was met with a completely grey page, the only thing on it was text saying the following:

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions
Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress”

As seen in this image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LJedUipzJb13YU3rfGs5aNWx5pUY5GBb/view?usp=sharing

I have received no email regarding this and the words ‘Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress’ were hyperlinked, taking me to this page: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/faq-troubleshooting/

It’s worth noting that when you click the links in the header/footer, they work fine and the pages it takes you to also work fine (most haven’t been set up yet but the ones that actually have content are just like normal)

When you go to another page, for example ‘MMA News’ I get the usual top bar WordPress options as seen in the image below:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h3uYzk02OaxSgo-0RnteoR2xcOLVIHgN/view?usp=sharing

But when you go to the home page, that bar is completely gone, as seen in image below:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1caKDmKg6f-92f0vB27uGohJhaLD-EZOs/view?usp=sharing

I have absolutely no idea what’s happened or how to get my homepage back. If someone could assist me please it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Anamaria,

I’m using the official webstories plugin created by google. They are working fine, I can see, publish, edit, and everything. The problem is showing them on my website. Webstories are not cpt. They are considered a different thing.

There are posts, pages, categories and there are webstories. And I need them to be shown in my homepage, but there are no options available. Is there a way to do it or the theme is not updated to suport webstories yet?

Hi,

Unfortunately, in our theme we do not have dark mode and light mode features.
You have to do it manually. Change the background color into white from Newspaper -> Theme panel -> Theme colors -> General theme colors. And also the global colors which are used in the demo, you can find and change them if you edit the homepage for example with the TagDiv Composer, access Website Manager : https://prnt.sc/LJVqfzmJ72wi.

Thank you!

Hi,

So, the problem is only on iOS? I checked and this doesn’t work on Android, too. I verified, and the problem is only on the homepage, in the posts works well.
Did you use a plugin to optimize the css and js?

Thank you!

I have a flex box on my homepage (https://ibb.co/Bz2jB3F) and I would like the content loaded to be webstories. I have already created the categories but the content does not appear. Only content from posts and pages and webstories are not either of these two options.

Is the theme not yet optimized for webstories content to be displayed or is there any way to do this whether it be with categories, tags or taxonomies?

Anamaria

Hi,

Using our theme you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
If you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer, then when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
So, the mobile responsive is what you see then that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin not.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activate and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activate.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
Better deactivate the mobile theme plugin and see the results, and assign the mobile page for page, like this => https://www.screencast.com/t/lektAhyjd
Also, clear your cache.
Also, please check this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-pages-not-working-well-with-this-theme/

Hope this helps you!

Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks for the feedback.
I am aware it is not made with Tagdiv, it is only a reference point to express how to have a 1 image display at a time on the mobile theme homepage.

Thanks.

Hello,
I’m using “Header Weather” on my homepage https://visitsithonia.com/ and I’m also using the “Weather” widget on several pages inside my website, for example here: https://visitsithonia.com/locations/nikiti/
But every time when I reenter my website weather shows an old incorrect temperature.
How I can fix that and ‘force’ weather to refresh every time when a user reenters on my website?
I’m also not using any caching plugin to optimize my website.
Thank you.

Hi Anamaria,

Thanks for finding that out. I haven’t added that logo anywhere, and it happens in EVERY PAGE not only the single post template as you can check by browsing and scrolling through the homepage and every other page on the website.

Can you please let me know how to remove that?

Thanks so much

Hello,

We have discovered through scrolling across our website’s homepage but also articles (www.pillow-magazine.com) that every page at almost every part/section is clickable and linked to the homepage. You can notice this by scrolling through the text of any article and noticing that the mouse cursor becomes clickable (even though there isn’t an hyperlink or on a white empy part) and it links to the homepage.

Why is that and how can we fix it?

Thank you

Hi Team,

I’m nearing completion of the site to launch this weekend, but noticed that even though I mention
a most popular section on my homepage, I have nowhere to link to as it’s not really a category.

(1) I have the category layout that I would want to reuse since it’s fully 100% ready.
How do I get that to show as /most-popular/ so I can simply change the filter?

I’ve read the manual front to back, but I can’t say I recall if it was mentioned or how, or how to find it.

(2) Similarly, I want to build a text only version of the categories as an extra option for people to navigate.
So I’ll have /category/tech/ and something like /text-only/category/tech/
/category/tech/ might show 12 articles with photos. (3 columns, 4 rows)
/text-only/category/tech/ would show 100 articles without photos (2 columns, 25 rows)

Only (1) is launch critical.

How do I go about this?
