Hello,
we are using Newsmag theme and we have installed plug-in for the recipes (http://codecanyon.net/item/cooked-a-superpowered-recipe-plugin/full_screen_preview/8782812). This plug-in was created custom type of posts “recipes”. Can we, somehow, use existing theme option named as More Articles/Stories Box in order to have related posts for this kind of custom posts? For the moment we don’t plan to integrate wpml 100%, because of this we can’t integrate only a small modification like the one presented on your second comment. I don’t own a version of wpml so i cannot say what that function may do. To integrate something like that in the theme we need to add an extra condition so that it applies only when wpml is installed and active, this way it won’t affect the usability for users which are not using wpml.

I am setting initial values by referencing Newspaper Document.
I am embarrassed with some screenshots which I can’t find from my working pages.
For examples, ‘Homepage Latest Articles’ pages are not same.
I am not sure if the Document and my installed theme are not same version or I am doing something wrong.
(I’d like to attach screen shots for better communication, but I can’t find the button to attach files)
If I get some fedback, I would appreciate it.
You would need to do a new install of WP in the folder … or do a complex “multi-site” setup. See the WordPress codex for that.
Tip: when learning WP you can often do a google search like

and find official docs for post editing. đ

The activation warning message appears a few days after you installed the theme, mean while you can also use the theme. When you will be asked for activation please follow this guides:

Unfortunately when you update the theme, that file will be overwritten, but you can make a backup of your current theme installation and then update and overwrite the files via FTP so you would have to do the changes once again.

I’ve also tested this but could not recreate this using the latest theme version.
What theme version do you use? Please make sure that you update it to the latest version which is 4.6.2 and test this again without using any plugins and also make sure you empty all caches.
Please use the instructions from the guide below to update the theme and the FTP method to do it and also make sure that you make a backup of your current theme installation so you can revert back to it in case something goes wrong.

If you still get this warning afterwards please let us know and provide more details bout this issue so we can try to recreate it and provide wp-access so we can have a look at this.

Upload the theme files from the zip archive via ftp; or if installing zip file use only the theme file, not the larger “all files” .. as that won’t work. You don’t need to put in serial number until it asks for it in couple of days of use. Not needed for setup of theme, which you activate just like any theme in WordPress from the appearance > themes panel.
Hi guys, back with more need of assistance. I am trying to add a Facebook remarketing pixel to the <head></head> section, but I don’t want to edit Newspaper header.php file directly, is there any other way to add it? I am, of course, using a child theme.
Another thing, I’m having a bit of trouble with a visual composer item: youtube video playlist. On the backend, its been added, on the frontend, it just doesn’t show up. Can anyone help me debug this?
notes: -it was working perfectly, just disappeared one day.
-we installed sumome plugin for clicks heatmaps, but after we noticed it made the playlist disappear, we deactivated it.
-playlist came back for 1 day
-we deleted sumome and other unused plugins just in case.
-playlist never came back

In the theme we included a smaller version of the demo which comes with all page templates and the basic setup for starting a site. We didnât included the whole demo because we wanted to keep the theme as small as possible. The xml was not included in the theme package because wordpress importer is buggy and it doesnât save the entire data (sidebar, block settings, footer widgets, etc have to be configured manually).

Please make a backup of your current theme installation, so you can revert in case something goes wrong. If you have any custom modifications in the theme’s files you will need to re-apply those.

I installed the plugin EWWW Image optimizer like on all of my websites. After running it, most pictures aren’t showing up correctly. It works on all other websites with same configuration and same hosting.
Now most pictures don’t show anymore:

When I click on the broken images, some show up correctly, some give a 404 error.
Anything I can do to fix the problem?
One assumes you have replaced all your plugins and theme files and reinstalled WordPress to ensure any infected or compromised scripts and exploits have been scrubbed.

Since updating newsmag to the latest versionmy social counters no longer appear.
I have uninstalled and re-stalled the plugin, re-installed the template and it still does not appear.
when i add the widget within widgets i get the following message.

well, finally, I finished to do modifications in the theme, but when I went move it for the public_html directory of my host, the post images, mega menu and thumbnails doesn’t work.

I am totally familiar with what you are saying. I just wish that you would acknowledge the value in being given a complete demo. It does present, time-saving and learning opportunities via example. I don’t think that can be debated.
If all that doesn’t matter, then they should be presenting this template the way that it unpacks on install and not something that has been dressed up.
++ Upshot â the layouts are included with the theme â open a post and note all the options for layouts; note the theme panel for layouts and note you can specify default template for posts and over-ride that on per-post basis.
++ But wait for TagDiv to help, I guess youâre not âgettingâ my attempt to help on how to explore the built in LAYOUTS you already have â the demo content doesnât add to that, it just uses the built-in LAYOUTS to populate dummy content. You already have all the LAYOUTS from the demo!
Yes, and I already have had a couple occasions where that layout had issues. Now if I had their sample I could start reverse engineering things to try to determine what was different. I didn’t post until I played around for a bit and saw issues that I had to spend time resolving. I would have just been as well off, had I not installed the demo content because that in its default state is an UGLY mess.
I am not the only way that feels this way by the way. I am just a bit more outspoken on the matter.
Anyways I appreciate your time but wish you would acknowledge that a certain percentage of the population feels the way I do. You might feel that I am a fool but not everyone that feels the same is.
Again…I have understood what you are saying from the beginning. I merely have a difference in opinion on presentation.
Incidentally, if the demo pages aren’t important, can you explain to me the difference between Newsmag and Newspaper?
I installed the theme and the required plug-ins, and when I clicked on something (I think the translation button) in the theme customizing panel, I got the following error.
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/joronomo/public_html/wp-includes/query.php on line 3412”
I went into my file manager and renamed the theme, and my old theme was activated but now when I try to go into my WP admin, I just get that error message again. Please advise.
Hi guys,
We tried to move from Newspaper to NewsMag but we are getting “508 error resource limit is reached ” few times per day. We have the same amount of traffic/visits like before, I deleted all the plugins and install the latest from the NewsMag, Even activated the CloudFlare but nothing helps. We are getting 98% (Page Speed Grade:) and 90% (YSlow Grade:) but still the same issue.
Our hosting company finding the issue in the new theme and now when we switched back to Newspaper again everything works fine.
Does anyone else had/experienced the same problem.
