Hi fokus,
We haven’t tested cloudflare’s rocket loader with the theme but usually the rocket loader or automatic compression of js resources cause this. We don’t recommend using an autominify tool as this could generate js conflicts and break features that use js to function as in your case mobile menu and search did.
As I said we don’t recommend automatic compression of theme’s resources but you can try to debug this using browser’s console and exclude from compression those areas which cause issues.
You could also search for ways to this online or turn to a developer to customize your site in this regard.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
I have nailed it down to CDN for beginning, once CloudFlare CDN disabled, search box and slide menu started to work – so my question here, what could be in CloudFlare causing this, as I would really like to use this CDN? I tried with RocketLoader off, with JS/CSS/HTML minify off settings – but no good – as soon as CloudFlare CDN on – menu and search stop working 🙁
Next thing I managed to find out is minification plugin “WP Optimize By xTraffic” – it is a great plugin, it made me go to 100/100 in demo theme – but it causes iPhone Ajax issues.
This plugin minifies everything, as well it makes CSS and JS load Async. Great stuff – but if I can not use it, what do you suggest to use for minification and async load of CSS and JS?
Thanks!
Apparently is something with the JS minify settings in W3TC, when disabled all sliders work fine.
Perhaps take a look at my sticky post top of the forum on how to optimize your site.
Also, test one of your POST pages, using GTMetrix.com as that will tell you explicitly what still needs to be fixed, such as image optimization, time to live (expiration headers), minify main CSS file, regen thunmbs to serve unscaled images, remove “?” variables, limit loading elements from external sites (e.g., gravatars), etc.
Hi,
Try to exclude the theme js file, if you use SpeedBooster the theme loads the minified version – http://screencast.com/t/ETfXtTSxlgN – The js which comes with some plugins may return an error if you minify it, you may have to try each one until you find the cause of this.
Thank you!
I’m having a little trouble getting my Ad Glare code to work in the header. I’ve removed autominify and disabled the rocket loader in cloud flare too. No luck.
The Ad Glare code displays in the other zones, however.
The site in question is beta.ynaija.com
Thanks, tried it but it doesn’t fix the issue.
Is loading this in some CSS/JS file so that I can exclude it from minify/combine/defer loading plugin ?
Cheers
Hi, guys,
I’ve already turned off all plugins, except the VC, but the issue continues. In the Chrome’s console, the only error is “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL”, and it doesn’t appear in the demo version. Also I’ve seen the minify case in the All In One SEO Pack (I don’t use the Platinum SEO Pack plugin), but this feature doesn’t exist in this plugin or in anywhere else in my website.
Thanks!
Hi!
I had the same problem updating today. I found out what caused it:
The plugin “Premium SEO Pack”s module “Minify”. I deactivated the module and now it works fine.
So it’s likely some minify-function/plugin on your site.
I am using good auto minify plugin and everything works perfectly except the featured image on top which loads AFTER everything else(it should be the first thing to load).
I have option to exclude JS/CSS scripts but can’t figure out which one is responsible for this ?
Thanks.
Andrei, I have tried turning off CloudFlare’s Rocket Loader and Auto Minify and everything else (turning off the plugins, like Hyper Cache). But the issue persists. I think it’s definitely a Newsmag 2.1 buggy. I sent the email. Thanks for the support!
Hi,
For less use – http://winless.org/ To minify javascript use the following tool – https://closure-compiler.appspot.com/home and also for css – http://cssminifier.com/
We know about this issue and we will fix it as soon as possible, please add this code – http://screencast.com/t/1ubq37tleuj0
'-- Select an ad spot --' => '',
Thanks!
Hi,
I can do programming myself. Could you recommend the tool and configuration of less compiler to build style.css myself?, and I would appreciate if you recommend the minify tool and configuration to use with your js file, I would like to customize your smart snap feature with my custom ads position.
Thanks
Hi,
My setup is very similar to yours.. I’m also using siteground hosting, and W3 Total Cache i’ve found it to be be really good. I’m scoring 99/100 (without ads on pingdom).
– First thing to do is use some of Chris’s mods in particular remove the Emoji Support, and any other plugins that may be loading assets on your homepage (Share plugins, Contact Forms).. you need to conditionally load these assets
– Also i minified the main javascript file using http://javascript-compressor.com/
– Remove all CSS your not using (BBpress, Buddypress, Woocommerce) and minify your CSS here csscompressor.com
I hope you get this working soon, as i have had no issues with TagDiv themes
Since I changed the template to Newspaper, randomly, I look that the images of a post doesn’t shown, only load the text, the sidebar and head images and the blank space of the post images. Be given to refresh the page to be loaded.
For example here: http://www.lacasadeel.net/2015/07/santuario-redux-integral-1.html
I have several plugins cache enabled:
WP Super Cache
Better WordPress Minify
DB Cache Reloaded Fix
tagDiv Speed Booster
In addition to:
Varnish system and Cloudflare
Any solution?
Forget this. I fixed it. It has an issue with Speed Booster plugin. I was getting an error with All In One SEO pack with Speed Booster. So I commented out that code that checks for compatible plugins with the Speed Booster plugin so it wouldn’t show errors and the Speed Booster was activated and working, but it was causing buddypress pages to do those weird things.
I just deactivated the Speed Booster plugin and now it is back to the black buttons, the way it was before. I am just not going to use that Speed Booster plugin. Seems to load pretty fast with just WP Rocket and Cloudflare just fine with both minify settings on.
Just ignore this thread.

Hi,
Please check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. If you minify css/js disable it. Also paste a link so we can take a look.
Thanks!
The issue is cosing your cache/minify plugin. Try disabling js minify and similar stuff regarding js.
If the issue continue do the same for css.
Don’t forget to clear your cache after changing settings.
Hi, as good as it is, pagespeed topics are always good to read.
Me, I respect do work going on here, but I do have something to add about pagespeed in general.
Chris and Ing Geek have some nice stuff here, I managed to get my demo newspaper content to 86/80 on GT Metrix, 61/80 on google insights, etc… and all that without Wp Super cache, or Wp rocket.
Included with those two caching plugins I managed to get above 94/90 on GTMETRIX, and 82/82 with google.
Somehow I managed to stumble on great plugin called WP Super Simple Speed.
This plugin alone, got me above 90s in GTM, and 72/86 (if i remember corectly) on Google insights.
When i included WP rocket… my website flew. I think it was something like 98/94 on gtmetrix, and above 90s in google.
But my images were not loading corectly bc of wp rockets js minify and stuff with css.
In general Expirience was awesome.
I tried to combine stuff, but i am not nearly done with testings (doing alot of combinations for 2 days) so I could use some help with this.
Thoughts?
My website mobile page loading speed slow, I found some problem check this link :
1. Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content – http://prntscr.com/7ptf9r
2. Minify CSS – http://prntscr.com/7ptfyg
3. Minify JavaScript – http://prntscr.com/7ptg3v
4. Minify HTML – http://prntscr.com/7ptg7k
How to fix it?

Hi,
If you deleted the code and nothing happened you may use speedbooster and in this case the theme loads the minified version of js. You have to modify the code inside it – http://screencast.com/t/Kmn22SnmuyU3 – , but it’s hard to do that so an easier solution may be to edit the normal file, then minify the code and replace the current code inside the min file. For minification use the following tool with default settings – https://closure-compiler.appspot.com/home
Thank you!
Hi,
We recommend now Wp Super Cache plugin, it seems to be more faster, but please use it. Also we recommend to be used as default (no minify) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Please also disable all plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and if you still have this issue provide a link so we can take a look.
Thanks!
anyways it’s fixed now…I guess reason was – I had enabled Minfy JS on cloudflare.. Disabling it and purging cache worked
It would be great if developers can have a look at it why minify JS gives error on this theme
Hm.
okay, in my header ad box I have
desktop on (grey toggle); size 970×90
tablet portrait on (grey toggle); size auto
phone off (blue toggle > right)
my code looks the same –
<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<!-- 2015 Responsive States -->
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
style="display:block"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
data-ad-slot="XXXXXXXXXXXXX"
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script>
So, it might be something funky like a minification setting or a “java optimization” setting in your Cloudflare, WPEngine — maybe there is a setting there to “ignore” a specific block of code?
I would probably turn OFF one or both of those if you are able to see if maybe they are “re-writing” the javascript for some oddball reason. “Re-writing” — such as scripts that minify, move, re-write javascript can sometimes break the simplest thing if they can’t parse “the syntax” or the “locale” of the code for some odd reason. I ran into this with mod_pagespeed with javascript optimizations — just turned it all off !

Well disabling the autominify JS feature on test site resolved this error but when I tried using it on Live website, it is still giving this same error.
I think there is something wrong in this theme.
I have seen some threads related to this Javascript error as well.
I want priority support to resolve this error. I don’t want to share the URL of my website here.
I’m sending a email to support. I hope my request will be resolved asap,
