Howdy,
Since the latest update to the menu and search on mobile, the search function on my site is not working. I get the little zoom animation, but then it just freezes up, and does not offer a search field. Can you help?
Hello,
The top menu was not designed to show up on mobile phones. You can try to force it to show with this css:
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-header-top-menu-full {
display: block!important;
}}
@media (max-width: 767px){
div.td-header-sp-top-menu {
display:block !important;
float:none!important;;
}}
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-header-top-menu-full {
display: block!important;
}}
Add the code in the theme panel->custom css box.
Thank you!
Hi there,
10keythings.com/ Top most header has (Subscribe, Forums, Contact, About Us) & (other social media icons).
In mobile,
Other Social Media Icons appear, BUT
(Subscribe, Forums, Contact, About Us) does not appear.
Is it possible to make them appear too?
Hello there,
I’ve been having some difficulties with the mobile version after the update, I’ve searched and tried many suggestions but no luck.
I have
Wordpress: 4.6.1
Newspaper 7.4 [installed via envato toolkit]
Visual comp: 4.12.1 [manual install]
Social counter: 4.1 [manual install]
Slide rev: 5.2.5.1 [manual install]
Speed booster: 4.5 [activated, however, in theme panel system status it say’s it’s deactivated due to a number of other plugins]
Currently my website is in the default mobile version. When I install the latest mobile plugin the site is unusable and you can only see the following error message.
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a
component with the ID: td_remote_cache is not
set.
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
Fatal error : Class ‘td_remote_cache’ not found
in /home/theindianfeed303/public_html/wp-
content/plugins/td-social-counter/
td_social_api.php on line 48
If I deactivate and delete the booster plugin, but leave the mobile plugin installed, I still have the same error message.
If I install the booster but delete the mobile plugin, then the mobile website works by default style.
So, this lets me know it’s the mobile plugin.
From the forums I found a similar problem and the temporary solution was to install mobile plugin v1. When I use install this plugin, my website shows the mobile version! however, it will not load any menus on the drop down. So I have removed all and gone for default but now I can’t change the colours etc.
Any suggestions welcome
Hello,
Unfortunately you can only have different menus if you use the mobile theme. the standard responsive version uses the same menu on desktop and mobile.
Thank you!
Hi,
If I look at my website on a desktop, then there is NOWHERE on my screen a way to Sign in. This is FINE,because that is what I want.
Now if I make my screen small enough so mobile kicks in (or if I watch on my phone) then I can get to the menu by using the hamburger icon (the 3 horizontal lines 😉 )
If I do that, then I see on top of my screen a few social icons, but between these icons and my actual MENU there is an avatar picture and the Sign in link.
This is something I certainly don’t want. Nobody has to login to my site anytime.
In the theme panel – top bar settings I disabled the top bar and also the “show sign in/join” option, but still this “sign in” link appears.
How can I solve this please ?
So how do we change it to the hamburger menu icon?
The current mobile menu makes the site look old and not modern.
It appears that its difficult to setup one one site layout that is satisfying when viewed on both standard monitor and mobile. So I understand the mobile theme is an option.

Is it possible to turn off the Newspaper-Magazine themes default effort to transform the standard site into a responsive version?
That is, to have the complete site page (without mobile plugin) displayed on mobile screens as simply a scaled down version of the standard layout for large monitors? The ‘pre-responsive’ viewing of a website.
I have this option with a framework theme and the mini display of the complete web page works fine. One simply zooms in to select the menu or view areas of the page.(Please see; http://www.kaufmanndesign.com)
Hi,
How can I make the mobile menu button to be the three horizontal lines rather than the 9 box grid?
The three horizontal lines look better.
Cheers

Is it possible to use the default Mobile theme with the mobile menu? I don’t like the Mobile theme addon but without it, the menu wont work on Mobile devices.
Hi,
I use newspaper theme on my website (sportescu.ro) and on responsive version my menu does not work properly, but if I use the mobile plugin it’s working. I have tried to find if there is any plugin conflict, I deactivated all the plugins installed but the problem still persists. Could u help me?
Hi, now the template mobile menu doesn’t appear on tablet (landscape and portrait).
I need to have mobile menu on tablets. Is it possible?
thanks

Not an SEO issue. Blocks on a home page or index page which contain your story indexes need to be there for page to render. Google reads text on your page, not the DOM elements that build layouts. Even if you move your “mega menu” to external file, it still needs to load on the page when viewed by a robot or other element.
You’re better off doing “fetch as Google” and using Google PageSpeed Insights, mobile friendly check, GTMetrix.com test on your post, as barometers.
SEO is most affected by your title tags, h1 tags, actual text relevant to the title tag and permalink, the amount of original unique info on the page on topic, and external links to your site from other sources that cite your page as relevant to that, even if it’s just social sharing.
The HTML used to build the DOM, does not “hurt” your SEO, unless you have two paragraphs on a page and then a mega menu, and 50 blocks of other stuff unrelated to that one page.
Just food for thought having done SEO since March 1995.
I just updated the newsmag theme to the last versión and after i uploaded it throw ftp acces the mobile menu appears in the head of the theme, What is happening?

Also some features of the homepage get wrong, and i get a lot of blank spaces

PD: I had to keep my old version of the template in my website beacuse i couldn’t fix it, but i want to update it as soon as possible. Thanks
Thanks for helping me
Good morning
I can not activate the theme for Mobile. I tried to reinstall and activate the plugin menu, but when I enter the theme of the plugin page does not give me the activation option.
In the menu wordpress plugin is installed and activated, but when I browse by mobile phone is not so.
How can I fix?
My website: http://www.novabbe.com

My nav menu is schitzo. The dropdown menu arrows show up after a clear browser cache, show up when on some pages, but then disappear on others. Any fix to this? thanks
Hi,
I have checked your site on mobile device but I could not find this issue. The mobile menu works properly, when I click on the icon, it opens the menu. There is a zoom out effect but the menu is opened – http://screencast.com/t/qpljCkrDfX – http://screencast.com/t/ZcWxdGbFDt
Do you have this issue on a specific device? Please make sure you use a supported browser(Chrome, Safari..).
Thanks!
Having looked through almost every thread and discussion about this – nobody seems to have found a solid answer/fix.
My problem is that;
1) The site looks rubbish with the mobile theme plugin activated SO,
I de-activated the mobile plugin and the site looks great HOWEVER,
Now my menu will not appear and instead when you click the menu button, the page just zooms out (as though something is meant to slide in)
See image –
I have tried all suggestions such as disabling all plugins etc and nothing has worked.
I really don’t want to use the mobile theme plugin as the site looks so much better without it, but am being forced to as I can’t have an un-usable menu bar.
Any help/suggestions?

Hello;
I just install my RTL website; when i activate the Arabic language; the mobile theme doesn’t work with mobile phone like iphone 4 and iPhone 4s; it show only background image with the menu.
My website is http://www.albanate.com
Catalin,
Thank you for your reply. I’m not sure that I understand your comment concerning not being able to compare the two sites?
On my laptop and external monitor the http://newstest.meta-morphos.es/ home page looks the same when the mobile plugin is turned on or off. The only difference I see is when I view the site from my mobile phone. The mobile plugin reduces the front page to a vertical stack of scrolling blocks.
I’ve now removed all CSS fron the ‘newstest’ site and only have the Visual Composer and Slider Revolution plugins activated. The one customization is that I replaced the original top left column block with one Revolution slider block. One a large monitor the front page looks AOK and displays the same on Firefox and Chrome. When I view it on the mobile phone it almost displays correctly but the left margin is shifted left and crops off some of the text. The right column doesn’t display well.
It appears that one solution is to use it with this one customization and with the mobile plugin turned on. On mobile viewing it abbreviates the front page content but at least displays a usable vertical scrolling stack of info blocks.

Is it possible to turn off the Magazine themes default effort to transform the standard site into a responsive version?
That is, to have the complete site page (without mobile plugin) displayed on mobile screens and simply scaled down to fit the mobile or tablet window? I have this option with a framework theme and the mini display of the complete web page works fine. One simply zooms in to select the menu or view areas of the page.(Please see; http://www.kaufmanndesign.com)
This would provide a simple solution for several issues. The pages could still handle iframes, and there would be no surprises for any pages customized with CSS. If a page look good on a normal screen, then it would look fine on a mobile screen. Maybe this setting option is somewhere in the theme settings?
It’s a bit of a surprise that with 50+ Visual Composer elements and blocks as standard tools on the Newspaper theme that it’s not possible to shift a few around without breaking the theme. In the Magazine/Newspaper theme, is it primarily the first top left column block that’s critical to hold the page together as originally intended?
Thanks, Lon K
This is the desktop view http://screencast.com/t/R2tVIROD
Please check fitlogy.com in mobile view .
Click on Hamburger Menu.Unfortunately the menu does not appear.
Hello itourisme,
If you are using the mobile theme you will have to set your main menu as you like from the panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/Sth6v2EunKYc Otherwise, if you are using the general responsive mobile version, please notice that you will have to do one more change, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/3EEpNn2jJMX
Thanks for your message!
Hi Catalin,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I understand that the Mega Menu is not working on mobile, but it seems to me like there is no separation between the source of the desktop and mobile menu, meaning while I have now successfully hidden the second level categories in the desktop menu, they are still displaying in the mobile menu.
Is it possible to separate the two and specify one menu for the desktop version (the Mega Menu) and one menu for the mobile version?
or
Can I somehow hide the second level categories in the mobile menu?
Thanks!
Peter
Hello itourisme,
Please notice that the Mega Menu feature is not working for Mobile devices, but only for desktop mode. In that way has been designed our theme and this is the normal behaviour for it. If you refer to something else, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thanks for your understanding!
