Hi,
First of all, great theme.
Secondly, I would like to suggest my humble opinion and questions in these matters:
1. You guys should definitely consider adding a swipe image effect on lightbox galleries. Arrows are so old these days. Even mobile lightbox is still using arrows.(such as https://github.com/dimsemenov/PhotoSwipe)
Is there a way to adapt such effect using theme hooks or API?
2. Please add sidebar menu on desktops as well, for an option.
2. Please add more developer controls (hooks). For example it would be great if you could add an action right under td-outer-wrap in header.php. Interestingly, you added after header action but no before header action.
Another example here is, I want to add an icon right next to search bar, and I can’t because there is no hook there. I think developer controls are important in a theme.
Which comes to my question.
I want to add content right before header, without modifying the actual theme code. I don’t want to copy and change header.php, because every time theme updates I would need to check the header code if it’s changed.
How can I add a content before header?
Thank you,
Hello,
You are probably using the mobile theme plugin and are not changing the mobile theme background from the mobile theme section at the bottom of the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/pNfAnbCr
If you use the mobile theme, then all of the mobile settings are done through this panel.
Thank you!
Hi guys,
I think I figured out the problem. I had previously created a custom menu so I could add some additional items to my mobile menu (here’s what I did: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/where-do-i-edit-the-mobile-menus-options/)
I modified td_menu.php and menu-mobile.php before installing and that appears to have broken the theme. When I uploaded 7.5 out of the box, it worked, but when I added in my customisations, it broke the theme again.
So my question now is how do I add custom menu by modifying td_menu.php and menu-mobile.php. I think these were modified since 7.3 so these customisations are no longer valid.
Thanks
Hello awesome people,
Approx. 15 days before, we have shifted to more powerful Digital Ocean Server ( Via Cloudways) and have experienced two times more traffic than before due to increased website speed and performance.
However, for last one week or so, I am noticed weird homepage loading on Mobile devices. It first appears broken and then completely loads after the considerably higher amount of time.
Here is how it looks initially: https://i.imgur.com/vBuQN7f.jpg
As you can see, the problem appears to be with mobile style.css and font loading. I use speed booster plugin and wp super cache, nothing else for speed. I have tried removing – the footer moving script code from speed booster which loads fonts and CSS in the footer. But it didn’t help.
After fully loading in 5-6 seconds, it appears fully like this- https://i.imgur.com/vF5lHUe.jpg
I do want to remind you that I also use “TD Mobile theme” plugin but it doesn’t work on the homepage ( it still shows the mobile version of desktop theme even on mobile devices, but only on the homepage), other pages, posts displays mobile theme plugin version.
I have also sent you the login credentials to help you look at the matter.
Thank you very much.
Yes, this is mentioned in the documentation as well: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thanks.
Hello Catalin,

Hello Aminul Islam,
Unfortunately, the mobile theme plugin has not been tested with Multisite and we cannot say for sure if it will work or not. This has not been designed to be used in Multisite and that’s why it was not tested. sorry!
The Multisite is just a WordPress functionality and it can be done in a lot of ways. For more information about this implementation, please check here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network We recommend using the way of multisite when you have to create a new install for each subdomain and then you can make a redirect between them.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the message!
Hello charli_vk,
Please keep in mind that the Search is only one for the entire theme. So, if you will make some modifications in search template, this will be the same in mobile mode. If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for the message!
Hello simply_shelby_h,
I have checked your website on mobile and the website seems to work as properly, and the featured images still working fine. Where is the problem? Also, I have checked your console and I saw that you are some js errors within it. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled wit the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Well you did not mention if you updated the mobile theme plugin. The plugin will not update automatically. You have to disable and delete the plugin files from the plugins section of wordpress and then install it again from the main theme package you downloaded from envato (if you want to use the mobile theme plugins that is)
Thank you!
We already have a site running with thousands of visitors daily. I did a page speed test for mobile and we are geting 54%
I’ve cloned the same site on a sandbox location on the same server, installed your theme, even disabled most pl;ugins and we are now getting 0… but when we install your mobile theme whiich is not so flexible to do what we want, we get 34%
Ive left a few plugins we can’t do without and I went to status to see page booster
one by one I became shocked
v4.5 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: updraftplus/updraftplus.php
same for askimet, Disqus Comment System and some others
just seems that the plugin is of no use since these are kind of key plugins and even common ones too
please can you advice what next if your speedbooster doesn’t work?
What really concerns me more is that I activated 3 different themes on the same site and tested, they all performed way better and the only reason I bought this was the promotion that this theme was going to be super fast… seems a lot of optimizations beyond the normal is required if I’m not mistaken
Please put my mind to rest with solutions
Dear Support!
I have some questions about mobile theme works:
1. For my website HouseChief.ru not displayed top grid section.
2. In mobile menu not displayed “Join”. Only “Sign in”.
Thanks.
Regards, Artem.
Hi there,
For the past few months, I am using AMP plugin called Accelerated Mobile Pages for my site. But recently after I activated the Newspaper theme together with the Speed Booster plugin, I received below error.
Speed Booster v4.5 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: accelerated-mobile-pages/accelerated-moblie-pages.php (yellow indicator).
Could anyone help me how to fix this?
Thank you,
Hafiz Rahim
WP SUPERCACHE acts differently on mobile theme vs. desktop theme.
After one post update the mobile theme loads the page from cache in 1.4 seconds,
on desktop theme will rebuild the entire cache and load in ~8 seconds.
It’s a simulated large site with 15000 posts.
I know, it’s about WP SUPERCACHE but i’d be pleased if Newspaper theme can act like mobile theme, loading only new data without rebuilding entire page cache.
P.S. Can I please contact your team on another channel (mail, phone,…) for this and other collaboration problems?
I’m a WP developer from Romania and I have some ongoing projects.
Thank you in advance,
Cristian T.M.
UPDATE: I figured it out because I saw a post about installing the theme.
The fix:
In your plugins, the mobile theme installs as a PLUGIN, called tagDiv Mobile Theme.
Disable that plugin, and your site will become responsive and correctly display shortcodes, etc.
Hello.
I see you have suggested disabling the mobile theme and using the responsive theme. I would like to do this on my site.
How do I disable the mobile theme?
A search in this forum did not bring up any instructions, just this post.
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
We are creating a multisite by using Newspaper 7.5 theme. Everything works great, but the mobile plugin is not working.
Can see this message: The mobile theme path couldn’t be set. Please check if you already have another mobile theme plugin active and disable it (ex. Jetpack Mobile Theme or similar). If you use a cache plugin clear it before checking the results.
Please, Help me to get rid of this.
Thanks!
We had an ad banner full width below the banner across top of all our sites for almost 10 years in Adsense, above the two content columns, with no issues. Even switching to Newspaper then NEwsmag 1.0.
Archive Org; Jan 2015:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160117145517/http://californianewswire.com/calif-assemblyman-gatto-reminds-on-new-laws-for-californians-jan-1-2016/
then we “hid” that above the content banner on mobile devices (phones), per the options in the ad panel (*show desktop, tablet; hide mobile).
So, desktop and tablet got above the fold ads, mobile got bottom of content ads or the sidebar.
Bow with Newsmag 3.1 I’ve just been lazy on the final optimization, due to the Aug 5 server crash, and just loading one ad in the sidebar on all devices; which tucks below on mobile.
So, you just need to “plan” how your ads appear on devices and go TEST them — obviously — .
The theme is compliant; it’s up to you to “engineer” your ad placements to fit your needs.
For example for some folks, not using Adsense, having an ad unit for a movie opening, above the fold on a movie website, might not be crazy.
But obviously, for good UX, you should not have the top half of your iphone view of an article be an ad box; but should show the story title and/or story photo/image.
Food for thought, anyway.
Hello Bogdan B. –
Many thanks for your reply. I have just checked this. I have the latest version from Envato. It is version 7.5. Is that correct? I diabled the tagDiv Mobile Theme in the plugins and it works ok (without the wp booster errors).
Any other ideas?
Many thanks,
Neil.
Well the mobile theme does not have a sidebar so the ads will not be shown. As for the ones that are visible, please select a size that is not bigger than the mobile container. Please provide a screenshot of what size you have selected for mobile and a link to your site so we can inspect the ad.
Thank you!
Hello ironsea,
I have inspected your website and I saw that your Ad is not responsive and that’s why you cannot see in mobile and tablet view. Notice that the theme only renders the ad code which is added in the Header Ads and do not influence the structure of it. You should contact the Ad provider and request to provide a responsive Ad code. For more information about Ad in our theme, you should consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-using-other-ads/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-header-ads/
Hope this helps!

Hello Vegan Flavour,
1)If you want to change the size for your “More Stories” button, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
.td_ajax_load_more i {
font-size: 20px;
}
The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/TLGCQ0eejeL
2)Try the code below ->
.td-main-content-wrap{
padding-top:0!important;
}
.wpb_content_element{
margin-bottom: 5px;
}
3)Use the code below ->
.td-icon-search{
display:none!important;
}
4) The code will hide the Related Articles on mobile.
@media (max-width:767px){
.td_block_related_posts{
display:none;
}
}
If you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

hello,
If you want to remove the footer, you should only disable it from the theme panel like so: http://screencast.com/t/IsrJtAOLwz
If you use the mobile theme, then you can only remove it with css. Please use this code:
.td-mobile-footer-wrap{
display:none!important;
}
As for the second request please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The mobile theme will not show visual composer and if you use it on posts, it will show the shortcode and not render it. in this case i suggest disabling the mobile theme plugin and using the standard responsive version of the theme
Thank you!
Hello,
Sorry but i cannot see any tint in the desktop version as well. The mobile theme was not tested with any tint so I cannot say for sure if it will work or not. sorry.
Thanks.
