I don’t use browserstack, so can’t help you with that.
ı also had a score of 95, but it is 63 at the moment. I checked the score page via http://www.browserstack.com/screenshots and most of the results were 63. You can check the demo here: http://www.browserstack.com/screenshots/ec3421b131dfc23e7753bb5eb4b08d55fc013cad
The problem exists when I check it, too: https://s3.amazonaws.com/fvd-data/notes/175774/1403204835-1xN8b9/screen.png
Hi, mobile is 97/100 (experience); 99/100 (speed). Desktop 89/100.
Great job on speed! 🙂
I know it makes the test on server-side, thanks for your interest. Can you or anyone also let me know about my REAL pagespeed score? I have just installed a plugin called jQuery Colorbox and tried to edit speedbooster to not lose my high score.
developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fkadininrehberi.net%2F&tab=mobile
I’d be glad if you could click the link and write my score here.
Also, YOUR browser should have no impact on using a testing site like PageSpeed Insights. When you use pagespeed insights, Google connects from its own servers to your site to test, NOT from your web browser.
Weird. Try using GTMetrix.com and see how that works as an alternative for your site. Forget about the demo, that works – nothing to do with YOUR site.
For your site, try the GTmetrix.com test … it’s a little bit more liberal than Google, and gives you a better “average” experience, using Google’s API, just not as strict.
Hi,
A solution would be to use two sliders on page, one big slider and one normal slider – http://screencast.com/t/KfzBqvWoefBi
Use the same settings for both sliders (same category, sort order), hide the title on the normal slider.
Add a class to the sliders so you can target them in CSS like this:
– http://screencast.com/t/guU3pZYB
– http://screencast.com/t/A6bl2fhI2
Use css to hide the big slider on mobile and the show the normal slider instead (add the following css inside the Theme Panel -> Custom CSS):
@media (min-width: 767px) {
.bs_mobile .td_normal_slide {
display:none;
}
}
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.bs_mobile .td_block_slide_big {
display: none;
}
}
Now there should be 4 posts on desktop and 4 posts on mobile.
Thank you, Emil G.
Hi,
It can be done with javascrypt or php, you can specify to render the ad area only on mobile, but it’s not an easy task.
Thank you, Emil G.
The weird thing here is that when I get to browserling.com and type that pagespeed check link, it is okay. It shows 99 or 98 whatever…
But from my browser if I test, the score decreases to 71.

Hi Lucian,
I would like to display all latest posts on both desktop and mobile. Mobile is now missing 3 posts on homepage. Can we move the 3 missing posts on mobile to the latest articles?
if user is mobile move missing articles to latest articles.
Jalo
The demo is 98/100 user experience and 99/100 speed on mobile
and 99/100 speed on desktop as of 1:22pm PDT June 18, 2014, today.
Not sure how that is considered “going down.”
You will need to address the issues from Google Pagespeed Insights for YOUR site/server setup to get the best score. Using GTMetrix for scoring is sometimes more useful to showing the things needing fixed with better tools for doing so.
Sharing a link to your score info would likely be more useful?
I’m not on support staff, just visiting to check on the latest update stuff before I to and upgrade to our sites. 🙂
I had 100 on mobile. It is 71 now.
Even demo itself has gone down. You can check it.
http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=demo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewspaper%2F
To make sure, I disabled speedbooster and checked my score then re-enabled and did it once again, but it seems as if it had no effect on pagespeed although it still makes everything move to the footer as it should do.
Can you please check the link too to make me see if it is something personal or not?
Hi,
Have you tried to disable the minify plugins to see if works?
I’ve tested your site on an Android mobile and the menu works fine.
Thanks for the message
So there is no way of displaying non-Adsense ads by platform (mobile/desktop) without using the display:none variable, therefore the code is loading, it’s just not visible?
I got it. It was the Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order plugin. After deactivation the categories displayed correct. Only now the categorie order in menu is screwed. Can you help me with that too?
1. How to order the sub categories in menu.
2. How to display same posts from homepage on desktop and mobile.
Thanks in advance!
Jalo
Hi,
Plase add this custom CSS to Custom CSS->Theme Panel:
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-sp-ico-menu {
background-position: -20px -364px !important;
}
}
Thank you
I have increased the number of posts but still the homepage is missing posts from the index on mobile.
Homepage on mobile should display same posts as on desktop. Now the homepage on mobile is missing posts. If for some reason the three blocks along side the big image can’t be displayed on mobile I would like to move them to a different block.
So if page is viewed on mobile move the second, third and fourth post to the latest articles. That way every device shows same posts from homepage.
Can this be done?
Jalo
I apologize if this has been addressed previously, but I searched and couldn’t find it. I would like to know how to switch out the mobile menu icon to be the one with the three horizontal bars, rather than the 3×3 grid of squares.
It seems like that is the standard to launch menus on most sites, and the 3×3 grid is used more as a pull down menu (eg Google apps).
As far as the CSS, I see that everything is pulled from images/sprite/elements.png but I can’t figure out how to modify the code to change what part of the png shows up…
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thnks for you soultion,but none of them worked.Could you please provide some insight.
Hi,
1. The popular category widget is based on the number of posts. Can you send us a link to see this issue?
2. How the big slider work: If you have on desktop 2 slides on phone you will have 2 slides to, but the difference is that 1 slide on desktop contain 4 posts and on mobile just 1.
The first post from your big slide will appear on the mobile slider.
You need to increase the number of posts if you want more slides on mobile.
Thank you
Hi,
I use this homepage lay-out: Homepage blank template -> Big slider (4 posts), block 2 (2 posts) and block 4 (10 posts) with sidebar and block 4 set to “load more” and unique article enabled (screenshot: http://imgur.com/vDQnblV). When clicking load more, the first 6 articles in block 4 will be loaded again before loading new posts. I’ve made a screenshot (http://imgur.com/IsWCFHk), you can see some posts are the same and they are loaded below the “load more” fold.
The reason I use this lay out is because block 4 shows up nicely on mobile. So i hid the big slider and block 2 on mobile (max-width: 767) via css, but now block 4 isn’t showing the newest post. I know it’s because the unique article filter filters the first 6 posts (4 in the slider + 2 in block 2 = 6) from the big slider and block 2. But maybe there is a workaround or fix to make block 4 show up the newest articles on mobile? I know i can turn off the unique article filter but then the homepage on desktop will show duplicated posts. I really need a fic for this.
Isn’t it possible you guys make a second homepage template for mobile only? So you can design a normal homepage for desktop and tablet and a special homepage for mobile?
I think he is using that plugin “Async JS and CSS”
To not break any slide are the menu on mobile please add these files in the
Exceptions (files to ignore and load in render-blocking way) box to the bottom
jquery.min.js
external.min.js
site.min.js
these files can’t be loaded in render-blocking are the sliders on ur site will not work also the mobile slide menu..
It recently came to my attention that the way Newspaper deals with ads isn’t strictly correct.
Basically, let’s say I have a 300×250 ad and I only want it to display on mobiles, I check ‘Disable on Desktop’ ‘Disable on Tablet Landscape’ and ‘Disable on Tablet Portrait’.
Now that’s all well and good, but it’s still loading the ad code, even if it’s not displaying it. Not only is this slowing page load down, but it’s also incorrectly counting impressions.
Is there a way around this, to achieve the same effect, but not have the code loading when it’s not visible?
Many thanks.
